These were Max’s thoughts as he sighted Kats amongst the unfamiliar figures near a barbeque stand.

As his gaze fell on her, the other party also seemed to have gotten enough view to make out their facial details.

Just then, Max saw his father walk past him.

Although it was unseen, the caution in the air seemed to have been dismissed upon hearing the other was a member of the Petrov family.

Although Max didn’t know the details of this family, it sounded quite Russian. And from knowing Kats was a Class three student back in Elite Metropolitan, her standings in the family shouldn’t be that high. Meaning they were at least a close family branch to the main branch.

Revealing a bright smile, the man walked to the four women for a handshake.

They all took turns listing their names, with a cool front. And when it got to Evelyn, Kats eyes seemed to brighten which everyone noticed.

"Hi, I attend the same school as Max. And this is my older sister: Tatiana. junior brother: Boris. Niece: Talya."

"Nice to meet you." Kats elder sister said with a thick Russian accent unlike Kats who seemed to have been raised solely in America.

To her side, the boy who looked to be around 13, shrugged nonchalantly and resumed playing his mobile video game.

"That’s cool- Is that Atlantis?" Just as the boy was about to put on his other air pod, Daniel said with a smirk, apparently having found a fellow bro.

The boy seemingly froze and also raised his head to glance at Daniel.

"You play?" With a thick Russian accent, the boy raised one of his brows.

"Why not? I’m a level 300 player." Daniel said, and at his words the boy seemed momentarily shocked.

"Ava, my phone is in that bag." Moving towards Ava, Daniel gestured at the bag she was holding and slipped it out.

"Let’s play."

"Well, that was straight." Seeing Daniel walk away with the boy, Olivia turned to Kats.

"Perhaps you might as well tell us about our cousin Max while we set things up."

"Come on, let’s go."

Before Kats knew it she was already surrounded by the three girls who directed her to where they would set their things.

Following that, everyone dispersed across the narrow crescent white beach with specific purpose and a common goal. To unload their things.

"I never knew you had friends- other than that girl."

As they settled the cooler near a low, flat rock, shaded partly by a stone cliff. Evelyn who had been quiet the whole while finally spoke up.

"... We are not exactly friends." Thinking for a moment, Max caught his sister’s suspicious eyes. However his words only seemed to confirm them.

"I got the towels," Olivia shouted, drawing their attention as she pulled out several rolled beach towels from a waterproof bag and began tossing it towards each of them.

"Feels better lying on the dry patch of smooth stones." Seeming to be getting along, Kats helped out. Her notorious flair and arrogant nature nowhere to be seen.

"Alright girls, time to pull up."

Finished with their parental discussion, Aunt Raven was the first to walk over in her wet dress . Signaling that they take off their clothes.

"Go into the tent."

Gesturing at the tent belonging to Kats Russian family, Aunt Sarah who was behind her also seemed jovial all of a sudden without any show of restraint.

"Men, let’s gather things together."

Hearing his father’s clap, Max turned away from Evelyn’s departing back towards the tent.

From the look of things, both sides already agreed to have a joint good time.

With no other words said, the guys quickly moved to restation every they brought. Whilst both men headed towards the boat to bring back what was left on it.

Moving solo this time, revealed his true strength by carrying the cooler by himself. Hurrying quickly after to carry the water proof bags and food baskets alongside the rest of his cousins.

Just as he was about to set a deck chair, Max saw Noah’s speechless expression and trailed after the direction of his eyes only to be stunned by the sight.
