Chapter 55 - 3D Battle With Golem.

Chapter 55: 3D Battle With Golem.

Ethan stretched his neck side to side, joints popping in satisfying cracks. The rush of new power

from his Abyssal Necromancy still hummed like static under his skin. He glanced around his

knight’s chamber, then lifted his hand and flicked his fingers sharply.

"System," he said, voice low, "open the 3D Battle Simulation. Full immersion."

A cool pulse of magic rippled through the air.

[Initializing 3D Battle Simulation...]

[Please wait...]

The world around him blurred. The stone walls, the bed, even the air itself melted into swirling

white. His body felt lighter than air as he dropped through an endless tunnel of streaming code.

Then everything snapped into focus.

He stood in a vast, dark space lit by swirling blue data streams. The ground beneath his feet

glowed like glass, shifting with tiny flickers of light. A breeze that wasn’t real whispered across his

face. Above him hung a sky of shifting geometric grids.

[Welcome, Ethan Graves, to the 3D Battle Simulation.]

A crisp, neutral voice filled the air, echoing slightly as though inside a cathedral.

[Please designate your desired opponent.]

Ethan smirked. "Alright. Let’s go for the big guy. Hollow Sanctum’s final boss. Verdant Core Golem

—corrupted version, full power. Don’t hold back."

[Confirmed. Generating target simulation...]

A tremor shuddered through the glassy floor. Cracks of red lightning arced through the digital sky.

From a swirling vortex of red and black particles, the massive silhouette of the Verdant Core

Golem began to emerge.

Its colossal stone limbs solidified first—blackened, tar-slick bark gleaming under phantom light.

Veins of molten red pulsed across its chest. Twin crimson eyes snapped open, burning like angry

coals.

Ethan rolled his shoulders, gripping the hilt of Warlord’s Fang. He grinned, a wolfish glint in his

gaze.

"Alright... let’s analyze this shit. How the fuck did this thing work, anyway?"

The Golem roared, a sound like boulders grinding together, and lunged. Its giant fist crashed

downward, stone fracturing beneath the blow. Ethan was already gone, flickering sideways in a

swirl of shadows.

He countered with a precise slash. Steel rang against stone, sparks bursting as his blade carved a

glowing gouge into the creature’s bark hide. Ethan’s eyes narrowed as he watched every detail—

the speed of its arm swings, the angle of its footfalls, the way its chest core pulsed before

unleashing power.

"Right... your movements... your charge-up times..." he muttered, dodging another swipe. "Your

armor plates shift here... and here..."

He ducked under a sweeping arm and slashed the creature’s exposed joint. The Golem

shuddered as fragments of black stone sprayed out. Ethan leapt backward, noting how the red

veins surged in brightness as it prepared a shockwave.

He lunged forward, faster than the eye could follow, and drove Warlord’s Fang into the Golem’s

core.

The creature shrieked as crimson light poured out from its chest. A second later, its entire form

burst apart in a cloud of dissolving red pixels.

[Simulation Complete. Victory Achieved.]

[Replay?]

Ethan was breathing a little harder now, but his grin widened.

"Yeah. Replay. Again."

The swirling vortex formed once more, and the Golem materialized before him. Ethan charged in

without hesitation, systematically dismantling the creature piece by piece, testing counters,

footwork angles, timing his strikes for maximum damage.

Over and over, the Golem fell to pieces under his onslaught. Ethan never allowed himself to slack.

He forced himself to study every subtle shift—the patterns of its rage, the glow that preceded its

biggest attacks, the brief moments its armor thinned.

An hour passed, maybe two—he lost count.

Finally, he pushed a hand through his sweat-damp hair and panted: "Okay... let’s see how you

handle this."

He wiped his mouth on his sleeve and barked:

"System, ramp it up. Set the Golem’s power to 200%."

[Processing request...]

[Warning: Opponent strength is now set at 200%. Proceed with caution.]

Ethan cracked his neck, a fierce spark in his eyes.

"That’s the point."

Red lightning exploded across the virtual sky as the Golem re-formed. This time, its body was

broader, thicker, radiating intense heat. Veins of crimson energy glowed so brightly they

illuminated the dark chamber like neon floodlights.

The Golem let out a roar far deeper and more savage than before, shaking the entire simulation

floor.

[Simulation Active.]

[Power Level: 200%]

Ethan spun Warlord’s Fang once and pointed the blade toward the towering beast. "Let’s dance."

The Golem attacked with terrifying speed, far faster than its previous iterations. Ethan barely

slipped under a devastating backhand that would have crushed a stone wall. He felt the rush of

displaced air like a cannon blast.

He retaliated with a high-speed combo, slashing into the creature’s side—but this time, the Golem

twisted its torso in a way he hadn’t seen before. A massive spike shot out from beneath its bark

plates, nearly impaling him through the ribs. Ethan Shadowstepped away in a flicker of darkness,

eyes wide.

"...The fuck?"

The Golem pressed its advantage, lunging forward with brutal agility. Ethan ducked another strike,

but noticed the Golem’s eyes glowed with a deeper, sinister red.

He circled around, analyzing. "No way... it’s learning?"

Every time he tried one of his practiced counters, the Golem adjusted—changing angles, feinting

attacks it hadn’t before. Its swings became unpredictable, footwork less robotic and more fluid.

Ethan deflected a hammer-like blow, only to find the Golem suddenly aiming a backhand spike

where his dodge path should have been. The spike grazed his arm, sending a shock of pain

through his virtual body. He hissed and backpedaled, sweat dripping into his eyes.

"This... this wasn’t how it fought in the dungeon. Even the corrupted version wasn’t this

adaptive."

The Golem roared and charged again. Ethan locked his blade against a descending fist, but his

boots skidded across the floor, sparks flying.

Shit. It’s like... it’s rewriting its code in real time.

With a sharp cry, the Golem slammed both fists into the ground. Red sigils spread outward,

unleashing a pulse of corrupted mana. Ethan leapt over it, spinning in midair, and slashed

downward—but the Golem sidestepped his blow, twisting unnaturally for something its size.

Ethan landed, chest heaving. A savage grin began to creep across his face.

"...Okay. Now this is getting fun."

He lunged again, blade flashing, ready to see just how far this creature—and whoever was

controlling it—was willing to go.

Because suddenly, Ethan realized the terrifying possibility:

This thing might not just be a simulation anymore.
