Chapter 88: High Priest’s Report Regarding The Second Challenger Team

When Ainsworth heard his High Priest’s report, he immediately estimated the power he had as well as the Church of Evolution before replying, "Continue your report."

He felt that with his current power that was comparable to an Evolver Overlord at the Intermediate Stage, as well as the Evolver Kings and Evolver Emperors in his Church of Evolution, it was more than enough to deal with the challengers from the Main God Space.

Although Fire Knight and his teammates didn’t know how powerful those challengers were, they still told him that from what they had seen when they were sent to this world at the same time as them, they only saw eight members in the other party’s challenger team.

’As for the deuteragonist, she’s none other than Chloe Harrington, that beautiful girl who can use ice superpowers and she’s even the first evolver I encountered when I arrived in this world.’

’Her talent and potential are indeed worthy of being the Female Lead of this world and from what I had known, the romance of this Zombie Apocalypse World’s world line was a love triangle with Ken Rogers and Kyle Brooks competing for Chloe Harrington’s love.’

It was due to encountering Chloe Harrington and receiving the choice options when he encountered her that Ainsworth obtained his S-rank Evolver sub-class with a Pathogen Control superpower.

Although he had left that city, it inevitably became part of the territory of the Church of Evolution. Because of that, when the Church of Evolution had expanded, Ken Rogers had subdued Chloe Harrington and she became one of his High Priests.

Even when that happened, Ainsworth barely cared since he didn’t know about Ken Rogers, Kyle Brooks, and Chloe Harrington’s importance to the world line. He only discovered recently when he had the free time to use divination to obtain more information about the world line.

He merely recalled that information after knowing that the second challenger team was after the protagonist of this world.

Since the protagonists of the Zombie Apocalypse World had already become his subordinates, Ainsworth didn’t plan to let the challengers get away with targeting his subordinates.

It was his right to overwork his subordinates to death, so if those challengers killed the protagonists who had already become his subordinates, they would be taking his rights from him.

While Ainsworth thought of all that in under a second, his High Priest continued his report, ’Lord God, we have discovered unusual activity within the perimeter of the Zombie Empire’s influence.’

’From what the zombies under Zombie Emperor Kyle had discovered, there were weirdly dressed people using weird powers to kill Kyle’s subordinates. It just so happened that those people had fit the Lord God’s description, so Kyle had informed High Priest Ken about it.’

’It was only after High Priest Ken had confirmed the authenticity of that information that he asked me to relay it to the Lord God.’

When Ainsworth heard the High Priest’s report, he nodded and asked, ’Have you discovered the number of challengers?’

Hearing the Lord God’s question, the High Priest piously answered, ’There seems to be nine of them. However, the ninth doesn’t seem to be a true member of their group as the ninth can use viral energy and superpowers like the Evolvers of Terra.’

Listening to the High Priest’s answer, Ainsworth merely responded, ’If I let 150 High Priest capture and petrify those challengers, how confident are you that you and the High Priests can bring the stone statues of those challengers back to me?’

When the High Priest heard his Lord God’s response, he couldn’t help but praise the Lord God for his cautiousness.

’Lord God, we are 99.99% certain of completing your divine decree. The 0.01% chance of failure is because we are merely imperfect mortals that aren’t absolute like the Lord God.’

’If us High Priests can’t even catch and subdue all of them, then we might as well choke from drinking bottled water and die! The very small chance of failure is likely one of the challengers having a weird prop that can escape even under the ambush of 150 High Priests.’

’But fret not, Lord God! We’ll bring High Priests that can nullify the use of items as well as restrict their movements and even space itself to prevent teleportation!’
