While they were still having their meeting, Dante asked, "Isn’t it weird that our side mission hasn’t been completed yet? We already arrived at this base and even infiltrated it perfectly."

Rian answered, "Don’t forget, our side mission requires us to establish our team after we arrive here. In other words, we’ll have to establish a team in order to contribute to this base."

"Although we already have established our team, it’s not official yet considering we have to register at the base and let them grant us authority. We also need to state what purpose our team’s establishment is for. In our case, we can scavenge for supplies as well as fight zombies to defend the base from it."

Hearing their conversation, Ainsworth interjected as he proposed a foolproof plan, "Wouldn’t it be better if I just command the Zombie Kingdom to rally up a zombie tide and let them attack this base?"

"When the zombie tide breaches the fortified wall set up by the military, we’ll then swoop in to save the day. I’ll then make use of my charm and speech to earn the favor and awe of all the people in the base, whether it’s the survivors or the military."

"Furthermore, I can even rebuild the wall using the superpowers I have in my arsenal. That way, I’ll be able to move their hearts and even let them develop awe and fear of my power. They’ll know that my power is already beyond human limits and even their weapons wouldn’t work against me."

"That way, they would want to always be on my good side in fear of us turning against them. But to let them not fear me too much to the point of paranoia, I’ll still put up an act of preferring the survival of the survivors compared to following the orders of the military."

"If I show a balance of power, kindness, and shrewdness, they’ll know that offending me would signal the end of their lives and so they’ll think twice in provoking us. But with how kind I am to the survivors, they’ll believe that I’m still on the side of humanity."

Listening to Ainsworth’s suggestion, Dante nodded, "I support your plan. But I have a suggestion. To make our plan foolproof, we need to let several soldiers die on the battlefield to show the cruelty of the zombies and let them believe it’s not a staged act."

"Furthermore, it’s better a zombie with intelligence, preferably a Special Zombie, lead the zombie tide so that it could voice out its evil plan of taking over this base which is filled with humans. It will then say that its purpose was to destroy this base in order to eat its gathered food as it found it too inconvenient to hunt for those survivors hiding when it could just be a group of humans in this base."

"And lastly, it’s better if we do this three days from now. After all, if a zombie tide attacked this base after we had just joined the base, it would look too suspicious. Even if we weren’t the perpetrators, anyone would still be wary of us."

Hearing Dante’s suggestion, Rian and Ainsworth nodded, thinking in unison, ’As expected of the son of a general. His tactics are cold, brutal, but efficient and foolproof.’

Rian sighed, "If we have a choice, even I wouldn’t want to resort to this. Sacrificing innocent lives for our goal doesn’t conform to my class as the Hero of Light."

Ainsworth waved his hand in dismissal after he listened to Rian’s words, "No need to whitewash yourself. Let alone you, we all are heroes. As awakeners, we are the heroes of Earth who are literally fighting in the front lines to become stronger to protect it."

"However, that doesn’t change the fact that while we are heroes of Earth, we are villains in the eyes of the inhabitants of the Otherworld. Our actions to them are vile and cruel, not much different from the demons who invaded Earth.’

"Us awakeners are also invading the Otherworld to protect Earth. To gain more power in order to protect ourselves and our planet from those Otherworld invaders, we became Otherworld invaders as well, bringing havoc and destruction to other worlds. Ironic, isn’t it?"

Dante patted Rian’s shoulder, "In war, what matters is that our world will win. Even if it brings the ruins of countless worlds, as long as we eliminate them to their roots so that they can’t take revenge, then Earth will have the final laugh."

Rian shook his head, "It’s not that I can’t bear to make such a sacrifice. Even if it’s to kill and torture children, women, and the elderly, I wouldn’t hesitate to do it if it completes our Otherworld Mission."

"It makes me wonder what we would be if we didn’t experience the Awakener Era. Our lives would have been more carefree and we wouldn’t be fighting for our lives in another world."

Ainsworth nodded, "It’s not a problem to wonder about what our lives would be if our world was at peace, but always remember that peace can only be achieved if we obtain absolute power. The reason we are all grinding here in the Otherworld is to obtain enough power to protect what we hold dear and fulfill our wishes."
