SSS Awakening: Rebirth of the Strongest Vampire God -
Chapter 165: A tetra mage
Chapter 165: A tetra mage
Damon still had about half an hour left before the meeting time, and he already had plans for that half an hour. He needed to make some preparations before heading to the special hidden dungeon, or at least that’s what he thought it was.
In his last life, Damon hadn’t encountered mechs all that much, but there was one cardinal rule when dealing with these things.
Never fight a mech unprepared.
That was the rule. One Damon had learned the hard way, watching a proud guild get obliterated in under thirty seconds by a single mid-tier combat drone during a world event. Unlike beasts or undead or even elemental spirits, mechs didn’t care about fear, intimidation, or death. They were precision, speed, and death wrapped in alloys and cold logic.
Also, don’t go to a mech fight without a lightning element mage.
Right now, there wasn’t one in their group, but that can easily change. Damon thought about it a lot. He would love to continue his image of being a rogue vampire, but it would severely limit his fighting power. Truth would sooner or later come out. Instead, he decided to push his new image as a mage vampire.
He could come out as a tetra mage who can use shadow, blood, fire, and lightning. This would make him exceptional, but not so much that he would become a threat to the super tens. It would also easily explain his overpowered attack style.
Damon took the teleportation portal to Twin Thunder City and then sped up towards the Stormspire dungeon. The dungeon portal was located fairly close to the city, so there were plenty of players surrounding the portal.
Damon had already activated Stealth, so he was able to easily enter the dungeon portal without much attention. Personally, he did not mind farming for some PVP kills and easy skill upgrades, but he was on a tight schedule today.
He couldn’t afford to waste time here. The sooner he cleared that dungeon and figured out what his world boss quest could end in, the sooner he could get back and conquer that black pool. He could simply ignore the world boss quest, but he did not want to give up on a power-up lead, especially when everything was coming together nicely.
As he mulled over the plans, Damon smashed through the dungeon casually. It was a level 30 dungeon, and his current level was 45, not to mention his stats were similar to those of a level 100 player.
[Ding! You have learned the skill Lightning Slash.]
Lightning Slash: Imbue your weapon with volatile lightning energy. The next melee strike will deal bonus electric damage and briefly stun enemies with low resistance. Has a chance to chain to nearby targets. Cooldown: 15 seconds.
[Ding! You have learned the skill Storm Pulse.]
[Ding! You have gained +1 Lightning Resistance.]
[Ding! You have learned the skill Lightning Dash.]
[Ding! You have learned the skill Lightning Strike.]

The dungeon was a mixed-type dungeon with storm toads, lightning elementals, and storm weavers patrolling thundercloud-wreathed halls. All of them were pretty easy to take down, and the whole dungeon was cleared in a few minutes.
To make things more interesting, Damon decided to fight the rest of the way by only using his newly acquired skills. This would also give him a chance to get acquainted with the new skills before entering the mech dungeon.
Damon narrowed his eyes as another storm weaver went down in a crisped heap. The feedback in his muscles from using Lightning Dash and Slash in tandem felt fluid now, like they were always part of his combat rhythm. But it was the Storm Pulse that truly shone in close quarters. It wasn’t just damage. It was control. Paralyze, reposition, and punish.
The next hall opened into a larger chamber. Thunder crystals floated in a spiral above a wide platform, glowing with stored energy. In the center stood the final dungeon boss: Voltusk, a mutated hybrid of boar and lightning element, tusks sparking, hooves cracking stone with every stomp.
The system chimed again.
[Warning! Dungeon Boss: Voltusk the Stormhorn has detected your presence.]
Voltusk pawed the ground, a crackling snort escaping its jagged maw as arcs of electricity danced across its muscular frame. Sparks trailed from its hooves with every step, and the thunder crystals above pulsed in sync with its heartbeat.
Damon smiled. "Hi, little piggy. Drop something good for me."
He activated Lightning Cloak, the arcane charge flaring across his body like a shroud of living storm. The moment Voltusk charged, Damon blinked sideways with Lightning Dash, appearing at the edge of the arena, already channeling Storm Pulse.
The pulse erupted beneath Voltusk’s hooves, locking its charge mid-stride and staggering the beast. Damon followed up with Lightning Slash, the blow chaining into a nearby thunder crystal and detonating it, showering the area with electric shards.
The boss roared, electricity surging through the ground as it entered an enraged state.
[Voltusk has activated: Overload Howl. All attacks gain chain lightning for 10 seconds.]
Damon’s instincts kicked in. He dodged with fluid grace, letting Lightning Strike crash from above as he raised his arm toward a floating thunder crystal.
"Let’s test this," he muttered.
A bolt surged from his palm, raw, unstable, empowered by the Stormspire’s energy, and slammed into the crystal. It shattered, triggering a dungeon mechanic.
[Crystal Core Detonated – Boss Shield Broken Temporarily.]
Opportunity. Damon blinked in again and unleashed a volley of skills. The final blow crashed down with all the stored energy, striking Voltusk in the forehead and flinging the beast backward.
Damon charged towards it once again, and a crimson fire lance appeared in his hand. It only took one hit to fatally wound the big boar and a few more seconds to absorb all the blood essence. The dungeon was now fully picked clean.
[Ding! Boss Defeated – Voltusk the Stormhorn.]
[Dungeon Cleared: Stormspire Caverns.]
[Ding! You have set a new record for the dungeon. Do you wish to announce your achievement to the world?]
Damon grinned. "Of course, yes."
