Chapter 1100: Tough Opponent
Chapter 1100: Tough Opponent
Sein did not come to Blackhaven looking for trouble.
He understood all too well just how deep the waters ran in this world, especially after meeting so many powerful figures.
Unfortunately, keeping a low profile was not helping him this time.
His patience was wearing thin. And with the risk that this drawn-out battle might attract other demigod-level black mages—or worse, someone even stronger—all he could think about was ending it fast.
The raging Ashen Flame surged once more across his body.
At this point, Sein barely resembled a Flame Demon.
During his centuries in Faeloria’s Infernal Purgatory, Sein had studied over two hundred different types of demons in depth.
Some were pure-blooded, but most were hybrids—born from unions between different Faelorian species.
But hybrid did not mean weak.
In fact, there were plenty of hybrid demon kings whose strength outstripped their pureblood counterparts!
Purebloods only had a natural authority over lesser demons due to their bloodline, which was why they were respected.
Originally, Sein possessed the bloodline of a pure Flame Demon. However, the stay in Purgatory had given him the chance to refine and evolve that bloodline many times over.
All demons could trace their roots back to the Abyssal Worm, which meant there was a fundamental commonality shared by all demon bloodlines.
As a mage who had spent years studying bloodline transformation and human evolution, Sein had poured plenty of effort into researching these areas.
His current transformation was the result of combining the best traits of many different demons.
What he had now was close to the bloodline of a “Demon King”.
The horns on his head had grown several feet long. He now had three pairs of demon wings and a new ,bladed tail behind him.
Sharp demon fangs jutted from his mouth, and a dark, ancient Abyssan chant rumbled in his throat.
Within seconds, a massive molten fireball formed in front of him. A golden disk also hovered above each of his hands.
The fireball Sein summoned packed the punch of an all-out attack from a peak demigod-level being, and the sheer density of pyro elemental laws woven into it was staggering.
This was the result of Sein’s deep analysis of the Fire Cricket God’s law power.
The golden disks exploded next, unleashing a torrent of energy beams that rained down like a storm.
This was a decentralized version of Penetrating Eye—a spell Sein had mastered during his last century in Faeloria.
Between the molten fireball and the elemental beams, his opponent was completely swallowed up in an instant.
His minions did not fare any better. The beams pierced through them, turning them into sieves.
Sein’s Demon Mask and magic rod pulsed with flickering elemental power at the same time.
The strange Ashen Flame could burn even deities; what chance did this black mage have?
Sein was dead set on reducing that black mage’s altered body and every last one of his chimeras to ashes!
Even with his mana burning at full throttle, Sein might not be as strong as a true Rank Four, but he was close.
In terms of sheer destructive power, especially against the environment and low-ranking lifeforms, he was already no different from a Rank Four creature.
To anyone weaker, he was a walking disaster.
Harnban had guessed wrong. Sein was no demon warlock, he was a pure Elementalist.
And among spellcasters in the Magus World, Elementalists were top-tier when it came to raw destructive power and wide-area devastation.
Pyromancers, especially, were known for having the most raw destructive potential of all.
The destructive power Sein unleashed did not just catch Harnban off guard—it also stunned those watching nearby.
That was when Andy knew he had to step in.
These two were going at it so fiercely that it was almost like watching two Rank Four beings fight.
If he let it continue, all the destruction and fallout would land squarely on him and the Black Tower of Stephen.
Given how close the battle was to the tower, there would be no way to claim it had nothing to do with him.
Andy’s arrival was accompanied by a massive geo elemental cage that dropped over Sein and Harnban.
The well-known Rank Five black mage just so happened to be a Geomancer.
A thick, yellow barrier of geo elemental energy appeared around them, interrupting the fight and containing the raging elemental storm that had been spreading in every direction.
From afar, it looked like a massive, yellow dome had dropped onto the battlefield.
As the geo energy surged, Sein could have sworn he heard a beast’s roar.
Harnban had not taken the full blast of Sein’s attack, thanks to Andy’s intervention, but he had still suffered a good chunk of it.
From the looks of it, the guy had not even used his full strength yet. He still had cards left in his hand.
If Andy had not stepped in, he probably would already be charging back in for another round!
The sudden arrival of the Rank Five black mage instantly cooled the fire in both of them.
As soon as Sein reverted to his human form, he instinctively twisted the Silver Spider Ring on his finger.
He had just left the Spider Queen’s tower... Was he really going to need her help again this soon?
He knew full well he could not outrun a Rank Five black mage, not here in Blackhaven.
The swirling storm of yellow geo elemental energy gradually settled.
Soon, an emaciated old man dressed in black robes appeared before Sein, along with a monstrous figure towering over two hundred meters high.
Its face bore a disturbing resemblance to Harnban’s, with stitches running across its cheeks that were just as unsettling.
Even its weapon looked more like a saw than a magic rod.
Hovering to Sein’s right was a grotesque chimera. Most of its flesh had rotted, and it reeked of death.
It looked like it had been stitched together from at least three different monsters, with three sinister-looking heads and over a dozen glowing, hateful eyes.
Sein felt a chill run down his spine as he realized this monstrosity had to be the result of the three chimeras Harnban had summoned earlier.
Not only had they survived his all-out elemental blast, they had also fused into this grotesque nightmare.
Its body was riddled with holes, each one leaking corrosive acid that sizzled as it hit the ground—a clear sign of just how much damage it had taken.
The Magus World was indeed full of talents, and Harnban was definitely the toughest demigod Sein had ever encountered.
