Chapter 1077: Self-Destruct
Sein, who had just reached the edge of the Battlefield of Gods, was lucky enough to witness a true clash between the deities of Faeloria.
Right now, the one shining the brightest was Ysor, the God of Storms. As the last to arrive, he was also in peak condition.
Storms and thick water vapor swirled around him.
At the center of several massive tornadoes, Ysor stood like the ruler of this space.
In contrast, the God of the Hunt and the God of Suffering kept a much lower profile.
Neither of their divine powers matched Ysor’s, and their battlefield style was not suited for direct confrontation.
In Sein’s field of vision, the God of Suffering had taken the form of a dark, flowing ink cloud.
Seeing it reminded Sein of Master Dark Flame, who was also a Rank Five being.
If he were here, Sein was almost certain he would take a keen interest in the God of suffering.
As for Fenrion, there were no visible signs of his divine power. However, the blood-red clouds in the sky proved that he had never left the battlefield.
Even from a distance, the pressure radiating from these three intermediate deities was more intense than that of the God of Smithing.
In fact, these Dark Alliance deities were far more aggressive than him.
They had always been Faeloria’s most troublesome gods, which was why they had been labeled as “Evil deities”.
Fortunately, Sein was tucked away in an extremely remote corner, his presence barely noticeable.
With everyone’s focus locked on their own enemies, no one had noticed him.
Unfortunately, the same could not be said for the God of Craft, Gondrath, whom Sein had been chasing.
The moment he stepped onto the battlefield, he was immediately spotted.
A flash of blood-red light streaked through the sky—Fenrion had struck!
Gondrath barely had time to cry out in shock before a golden barrier suddenly materialized in front of him.
“You’re not qualified to slay a god in my presence!” shouted Thamior, the God of Courage.
Thamior was not just strong, dependable, and good-looking—he also stood firm in his ideals of righteousness.
No wonder both the Goddess of Music and the Goddess of Joy fell for him.
Like a war god clad in golden armor, Thamior appeared in the heart of the battlefield, sword in one hand, shield in the other.
Just moments earlier, he had summoned a divine barrier with the Shield of Courage, blocking Fenrion’s lethal strike and saving Gondrath’s life.
Fenrion, the God of the Hunt, was a master of stealth. Sein could not even tell where it was hiding.
All that gave away Fenrion’s anger was the sharp curses echoing from the battlefield around them.
Sein’s eyes drifted toward the God of Courage, Thamior, standing tall at the heart of the distant battlefield. He was suddenly reminded of Faeloria’s most famous adventuring team.
Thamior, with a shield in one hand and a sword in the other, looked every bit the seasoned warrior.
Behind him stood the Goddess of Music with her Octave Box, the Goddess of Joy with her whip, the God of Glyphs clutching a book, and the Goddess of Waters wielding a coral staff.
With the God of Craft, who owned a vast arsenal of divine artifacts, they truly formed a well-balanced party.
Each Justice League deity had a clear role, and they worked together like a well-oiled machine.
In contrast, the Dark Alliance gods—though stronger as individuals—were preoccupied with their own agendas and constantly wary of one another. Their lack of unity made it difficult to stand against such a unified force.
It did not help that they were deep inside the Justice League’s territory, with more and more believers arriving from every direction.
Gondrath, the God of Craft, did not dare push deeper into the battlefield to regroup with his allies.
Instead, he began retreating toward a zone where a growing number of Justice League believers had gathered.
Several Legendary Beings were already there, along with a solid force of Transcendent-level clerics and warriors.
As expected, Thamior was the team’s frontline powerhouse. After deflecting an attack from Fenrion, he immediately engaged Ysor, the God of Storms.
Meanwhile, the God of Suffering—who had had an earlier run-in with Thamior—had quietly withdrawn to a far-off corner of the sky.
For now, he seemed to be biding his time. No one could guess what sinister schemes he might be plotting.
The stand-off in the sky would not last for long. This was Justice League territory, and the Dark Alliance deities knew they needed to end this battle as soon as possible.
The first one to make a move was the God of Storms.
After creating a powerful divine domain, the intermediate deity pulled out a divine artifact—the Storm Horn.
It was a large, brown horn covered in divine runes.
Rumor had it that Ysor crafted the Storm Horn himself after slaying a lesser sea god, using the fallen god’s divine relic and body as the core materials.
That very act had marked a turning point—driving Ysor, once a god who spread his faith across the shallow seas, to abandon the oceanic pantheon and side with the Dark Alliance.
In truth, Ysor was once a sea god himself.
The reason he turned on the Goddess of Waters was simple—he wanted her divine relic, divinity, and abilities to boost his own power.
The moment the Storm Horn appeared, every deity on the battlefield went stiff.
Activating a divine domain during the Avatar Crisis was already a massive drain of energy.
Now that Ysor had brought out his signature divine artifact—it was clear he had run out of patience and was ready to end things in one decisive blow.
Dragging the fight out any longer would be a mistake.
Meanwhile, the God of the Hunt, Fenrion, and the God of Suffering, Halvren, had locked onto their own targets—Goddess of Joy and the God of Glyphs, respectively.
Neither of those two was much of a fighter. If Thamior had not intervened, Fenrion and Halvren might have already taken them down by now.
As the Storm Horn prepared to sound, Sein—standing on the edge of the battlefield—could feel the crushing pressure and chaotic turbulence of divine power washing over him.
Charging into the heart of that chaos would be downright suicidal.
Sein was not greedy. He had no intention of jumping into a battle he had not planned for. The God of Craft, wounded and lingering near the edge of the battlefield, remained his target.
Funny enough, the two of them had fought side by side not long ago.
Now, in the blink of an eye, they were enemies again.
After roughly estimating his distance from the Battlefield of Gods and mapping out a retreat route, Sein—feeling just a bit more confident—called out to Yuri.
“Can your mecha reach the God of Craft’s position as fast as possible with remote piloting?” he asked.
Yuri thought for a few seconds, then nodded. “If I push all power to the thrusters, it’s doable. But if I have to fight in it after that...”
“No need to fight,” Sein cut her off with a wave. “Your next task is to remotely control the Burning Flame Unit. Send it to the God of Craft and trigger the self-destruct sequence.”
The Burning Flame Unit was expensive. Under normal circumstances, Sein would never throw it away like this. But with a god-level target in front of him, it was worth it.
Sein gave her a reassuring pat and consoled her. “Once we get back to the Magus World, I’ll build you a better one!”
