The woman had a gentle smile on her face even as Lily freaked out and was on edge.

Lily held Moku under one arm while she held out her other hand in an awkward karate chop pose.

"Careful Lady. You don’t wanna mess with me! I know like 47 different martial arts!"

That was technically the truth. She did know of that many martial arts but whether she was actually proficient in them was an entirely different question....the answer was a resounding hellNO!

She would struggle to wrestle her way out of a wet paper bag, let alone beat anyone in a fist fight.

The woman wasn’t fazed by Lily’s bravado as she continued to smile warmly at her.

"Now now. There’s no need for you to act this way child. I have no intention of harming you~"

Lily wasn’t buying it as she waved her arm around wildly in an attempt to act tough.

"You know who else says that? Smart monsters before they try to eat your spleens when you get too close! I am not gonna fall for that!"

The woman merely laughed gently, unbothered by Lily’s antics

Lily paused her wild flailing when the other party complimented her. She had a confused expression as she replied

Lily growled, readjusting her grip on Moku but again, the woman was unphased.

"Why would I poison a guest? Especially when I have prepared a gift and treat for them~"

LIly’s ass was on the log the moment the word ’treat’ had left the woman’s mouth. The eagerness in the young girl’s eyes caught her off guard and made her unsure if she should be concerned or laugh.

The woman smiled patiently.

"It is sweet. I promise."

Lily squinted at her.

"Sweet sweet? Or weird herbal sweet that makes my mouth sad?"

The woman giggled in a demure manner, covering her mouth before replying

Lily gave the fruit a long, dramatic look. Then she turned to Moku, who was staring up at the fruit, completely unable to stop himself from drooling. .

"I swear, if this turns my tongue green or makes me start crying about my childhood, I am holding you responsible."

She sniffed the fruit once. Slowly took a bite.

Her eyes went wide as her body stiffened from the sudden burst of unexpected flavor

she mumbled with her mouth full.

Moku let out a tiny whine and stared up at her with wide eyes.

"No! This one is mine! Puppy dog eyes aren’t going to work on me every time!"

Moku pawed at her shin and tilted his head while doing his best to look utterly heartbroken.

"Ugh! Okay fine but just a bite!"

She almost immediately caved, unable to resist his cuteness and broke off a small piece and offered it to him.

Moku chomped it with a happy little bark and immediately began wagging his tail at dangerous speeds.

she asked, narrowing her eyes at the glowing fruit now resting on her palm.

Lily’s eyes widened as she leaned back, nearly falling off the log in the process. .

The woman nodded calmly as if it was the most natural thing in the world.

Lily’s mouth hung open for a moment.

The woman chuckled softly.

Lily glanced down at Moku who was wagging his tail happily.

The woman’s eyes twinkled.

"I have no doubt you will."

Lily shifted on the log trying to steady her racing thoughts. "Okay then. Now about what I came here for..."

"For Guidance yes? That part was complete the moment you ate the fruit. Your trial was to traverse through nature. By the time you arrived, you had already completed your test."

"Really? Thank God, all that walking was really rough!"

If Adam heard what she had said, he would most likely puke blood from sheer frustration.
