Chapter 129: A Call for Help

Aria’s first waking moments after exiting the game were full of pain. Not the excruciating pain of something being broken. No, it was the pain of something being restrained too tightly.

"AHHHH!"

She roared as she sat up and yanked off the helmet, jumping to her feet. Yet the pain continued still. Her back felt like it was burning and without thinking she tore off her shirt. As soon as she did, the sound of ripping fabric were drowned by her cries.

"Sonata.. I mean Aria, are you okay?!"

Horo having returned to his Adam identity burst into the room, just as the binder that Aria’s father had always forced her to wear snapped and two snow white wings burst out into the open air.

"Haaah. So much better~"

She sighed in relief....until she noticed Adam staring at her with both a dumbfounded look while also looking slightly embarrassed.

Aria looked down only to see that her body was barely covered by the binder which by luck had yet to slip off of her body. She quickly held it to her chest and glared at the young man who had been enamored by the beauty of her angel-like wings.

"HORO GET OUT!"

She screamed with embarrassment and rage which caused Adam to snap to attention and realize that she was half naked. He immediately turned around and left the room, closing the door behind him, his own face flushed at the sight he had seen.

’Perverted Scum.’

’Wthat the fuck?! I just thought those wings were really beautiful.

’Well those ’beautiful wings’ were attached to a half naked woman. So silence yourself with your pitiful excuses!’

Horo couldn’t even defend himself from Arachne’s scorn and lowered his head. No valid excuse could come to mind no matter how much he racked his head.

"Hey Horo?"

Aria’s embarrassed voice came out from the room, causing Adam to stiffen up in surprise.

"Aria! It’s best you dont call me that here. Use my real name outside of the game!"

He called out, trying to act casually while keeping an eye out to see if anyone else was coming.

"Okay..Adam..I need your help.."

Involuntarily, dirty thoughts came to his mind and he covered his face in shame.

’Pervert!’

Arachne shrieked as she too saw what he was thinking and rebuked him.

"My clothes won’t fit me anymore.... Cause of my wings. Is there anything we can do?"

Adam didn’t know what to say to that. His mouth opened and closed shut as he tried to come up with an appropriate answer.

Then an idea hit him but he immediately hated it. There was only one person he could ask but. she was sharp-tongued, impossible to bargain with, and unfortunately, smarter than him.

"Yeah. Give me a minute to make a call."

He shouted back as he sat with his back to the door. He pulled out his phone and made a call to the woman in his family he could rely on.

Ring ~

Ring ~

"Hey Penny."

"Uncle Adam? How come you’re calling me? Did you miss your favourite niece that much~?"

Adam rolled his eyes as he immediately quipped back

"Says the one who called me to help her with her math homework. You do realize I am only 2 years older than you right?"

"More like 20 months older! Anyways, whats up Unc?"

"I have a favour to ask."

"Oh? And pray tell what will you give me in return?"

"Are you seriously trying to barter?!"

"Well it’s not my fault you need my help~"

"You’re evil...what do you want?"

"I want some more art supplies and..."

"Didn’t I buy you some just last week? Also what happened to your allowance?"

"I used it on sculpting clay and paint..."

"Jesus christ... Seriously?!"

’Are you forgetting about the half naked girl who is waiting for your help?’

Arachne’s scathing remark reminded Adam of his intentions of making the call in the first place.

"Whatever you want. I just need you to do me this favour!"

"No bartering? Must be serious."

"I need you to buy some form of women’s clothing that has an open back and bring it to the office."

"Did Uncle Kyle make you do this? The man’s a creep!"

"No. Kyle isn’t involved. This is for my friend"

"Oh my god Adam! What have you done?!"

"Nothing! It’s something that was out of my control!"

"Mhm. After this, delete my number. I don’t want Scum having my number"

"...."

Adam blinked in stunned silence...

"If I explain what this is about, will you change your mind/"

"...You better have a goddamn good reason. If I think it’s bullshit, I am hanging up."

Her tone was frosty as if she was talking to filth.

"Well have you heard about the new game Ascension of Souls?"

"Yeah..."

"Well some people have been affected by the game in reality..."

Adam felt a headache coming on as he tried to come up with a reasonable excuse.

"I am one of those people...And so is my friend. She has wings now.."

BEEP

Penny had hung up

"Fuck! What do I do now?!"

Horo grabbed his head as his only idea ended in utter failure.

’....Go to Sleep Little Snake. I will handle this...’

’What do you mea.....’

Adam’s thoughts cut off as he slumped forward, unconscious.

His body then started jerking as the sound of bones snapping rang out in the hallway.

"Adam?"

Aria’s worried voice called out as she inched closer to the door. All of a sudden, it opened to reveal Adam standing there but he was noticeably different. His eyes were blood red and his figure was somehow curvier.

"This is the best I can do with this body it seems..."

Her eyes widened into utter shock as Arachne’s voice came from Adam’s body.

"Wha....?!"

She was left stunned as she had no idea what Arachne had done. The handsome vibe that Adam had before had shifted. Adam’s once-sharp masculinity blurred into something...beautiful.

"While the Snake is Asleep. I shall make you a dress"

Arachne remarked as Aria was left stunned with nothing to say.
