Chapter 924: The Rainbow Deer Demon Emperor
A faint smile appeared on the White Tiger Demon Emperor’s face. “You're visibly growing stronger. I have a feeling that once you become an Emperor, nothing in this plane will be able to suppress your power anymore. That’s when the plane itself will be in trouble.”
Tang San shrugged. “That won’t happen. By then, it’ll be about time for me to leave. My goal is the sea of stars, not this planet.”
“Just don’t forget to take me with you when you go to that sea of stars,” the White Tiger Demon Emperor said with a longing look in his eyes.
Unconsciously, he was already viewing Tang San as an equal.
Tang San hadn’t intended in the beginning to reveal his Blue Gold Tree identity to the White Tiger Demon Emperor. Telling even one more person increased the risk of exposure. But he ultimately decided it was worth it; with this Emperor’s covert support, his chances of success would be much higher. And really, who wouldn't want better odds, even if they’re already good?
After bidding the White Tiger Demon Emperor farewell, Tang San put on his large cloak again, surreptitiously teleported to a random place outside, wandered for a bit, and even stopped by a restaurant for a meal before returning to the Ancestral Court Council.
Sealing his residence with divine consciousness, Tang San took out the crystal vial that Mei Gongzi had given him, the one with the blood sample of the Rainbow Deer Demon Emperor. Though the bloodline couldn’t be passed down, that wasn’t a problem for Tang San; after all, he had the Mysterious Heaven Technique.
He meditated for a while, making sure that his physique, internal energy, and divine consciousness were all at the peak. Only then did he unseal the crystal vial.
This was the way he always acted: calm and composed, making sure that he was a hundred percent committed to whatever he was doing.
When he had sensed the aura of the Rainbow Deer Demon Emperor during the communion with the Celestial Pillars, it had sparked many ideas. The most important was a method to pave a cultivation path for humanity—namely, finding a way for humans to master the elements. It had also inspired him to consider another route to a transcendent bloodline.
As soon as the vial opened, a dense, multicolored glow surged out. In that instant, a powerful divine consciousness erupted, coloring the room in shimmering hues. Though the divine consciousness held no will of its own, its intensity was overwhelming. Even Tang San was shocked by its power; after all, this divine consciousness came from a mere blood sample, not the Emperor itself!
Tang San briefly recalled records of the Rainbow Deer Demon Emperor. This powerful Solitary came from the Aetherhorn Deer line and was a master of no fewer than seven elements: water, fire, earth, wind, light, darkness, and space. Though its physique was rather ordinary, no different from a regular Aetherhorn Deer—for which reason it ranked lower among the Emperors—its elemental control was among the very best.
The foundation of this elemental mastery lay in a powerful spirit and a natural affinity for multiple elements.
While pondering this, Tang San extended his divine consciousness toward the Rainbow Deer Demon Emperor’s blood.
The moment his divine consciousness touched it, Tang San felt vast, ocean-like elemental fluctuations. Indeed, this blood sample didn’t feel like blood, but rather a dense cluster of seven elemental energies. The elemental energy in the room immediately reacted to the blood, resonating with pure and vibrant fluctuations centered around the small crystal vial.
What a treasure!
At the same time, Tang San felt the empty slot in his dantian resonating, indicating he could turn this Emperor’s blood into an imprint in this slot and gain its abilities. However, he didn’t rush to do so. It was not a bad deal, but it was far from optimal. No... The moment he obtained this treasure, he already had a plan in mind.
He concentrated his divine consciousness and activated his divine seat. At the same time, one of his existing bloodline imprints began to glow, radiating the Blue Gold Tree’s powerful life energy. With the Ancestral Tree’s support, this pure life energy caused the Rainbow Deer Demon Emperor’s blood to glow with renewed brilliance.
Life energy’s greatest strength lay in its ability to nourish all other types of bloodline energies. Though the Rainbow Deer Demon Emperor’s blood had been well preserved, it wasn’t entirely untouched by time. Now, under Tang San’s life energy, it seemed to awaken.
Next came the eruption of the Chaos Blue Silver Emperor aura. The overwhelming might of chaos energy immediately suppressed the blood. This was the aura of creation itself; nothing in this plane surpassed it. Thus, the potent and vigorous aura radiated by the Rainbow Deer Demon Emperor’s blood was quickly subdued. But although its glow dimmed, the energy became more condensed and refined.
Purely in terms of energy suppression, nothing could measure up to chaos energy. Even the forces of yin and yang were subject to its control, let alone ordinary elements.
As the Emperor’s blood calmed down, Tang San activated his Discerning Eye of Heaven.
Above his head, a vertical eye of solid white light silently appeared.
It had been a long time since Tang San had last used the Discerning Eye of Heaven. Its very presence was terrifying; no other being in this plane possessed such an ability.
A faint ripple of fortune energy shimmered around him, but with abundant life energy cloaking him and his divine consciousness sealing the space, he had no fear of being detected by other Emperors.
Tang San now was no longer who he used to be.
He noticed that once the Discerning Eye of Heaven was activated, his fortune surged as if from a geyser. At the same time, he felt from the eye a strong, unprecedented craving directed at the Rainbow Deer Demon Emperor’s blood. Even when Tang San had devoured the bloodline imprint of a tenth-order Celestial Fox, the eye had not reacted so intensely; that alone showed how deeply it desired the Rainbow Deer bloodline.
Tang San wasn’t surprised. He had already suspected this.
The Discerning Eye of Heaven was a fusion of the Discerning Eye and the Celestial Fox Vision. Though the Celestial Fox Vision usually took the lead due to being a first-tier bloodline, the Discerning Eye had never been fully absorbed. The two powers had always coexisted—one dominant and one subordinate, but still coexisting.
The Discerning Eye was, in turn, a fusion between the lower-tier Falcon Eye and the Aetherhorn Deers’ Discerning Heart’s Gaze. And the Rainbow Deer Demon Emperor’s bloodline was obviously the strongest in Aetherhorn Deer history. Since the Discerning Eye of Heaven was based on the bloodline of an Aetherhorn Deer, how could the Discerning Eye not long for this blood essence?
“Come,” Tang San said softly.
The crystal vial trembled, and a seven-colored stream of blood shot out like a rainbow after a massive storm.
The giant vertical eye in the air flared with light, and a beam of white energy burst forth. At the same time, beneath Tang San’s feet, the black-and-white energies of his Polar Luck Domain emerged, and the divine consciousness filling the room surged explosively.
