Sorcerer in a fantasy world -
Chapter 93
Chapter 93: Chapter 93
I sighed a weary groan of a noise, "Of course they are."
"Coincidence?" Tara questioned.
"Must be." Morgana replied.
"Coincidence?" Donna asked and then saw the dead bodies and screamed.
We all waited a moment for her to calm the fuck down. I tapped my foot with crossed arms like an annoyed parent. She had thrown another problem in my face and now was whaling over something I had already become used to - perhaps I was the strange one in this situation?
"You’re safe. I bet seeing dead people is scary. The Unseelie attacked, but we have dealt with it. I need you to focus. What is this about the Romans?" I said taking charge.
"They are attacking."
"Who is dealing with that?"
"We are."
I bit down my frustration.
"Who is we?"
"Druids, and the clan warriors."
"And the problem is?"
"Mars himself is striking down the walls. He could break through at any moment."
Mars was back? Mars attacked at the same time as an assassination attempt on our clan. An odd coincidence.
"Tara, stay here. Gather our people and keep them safe. Damian with me. See if we can repel a God of War." Morgana commanded.
"Let’s go." I agreed. "Err... Donna. Keep safe. I’ll be back." I added.
I flew us over to the wall covering the vast length of Elkilbour in a matter of minutes.
I landed us atop the wall amidst the panic of dozens of warriors and Druids. Across the wall hundreds more prepared for battle. Most of Elkilbour’s forces were concentrated below. They were ready to repel the Romans once Mars made the breach. They’d likely fail.
Agere and Làidir were already below more than ready to face off against the war god.
A Druid I recognised, spoke to inspire, but whose name escaped me in the moment. They had been at my first meeting with the circle. Strange how the memory slips in a crowd.
"Fear not, you are up high where their warriors cannot reach. Were any beast to fly here, we Druid shall repel it. Do not worry for those below for your fellows below. If Mars breaches the wall he will have to contend with Agere and Làidir warriors without equal and the interference of the deadliest flora our ancients could breed. No, stand tall with courage in your hearts. We are ready. Your axe-arms are strong and look here - Sorcerer of Tomorrow - comes!"
I raised a hand, "Stand tall warriors. The night is not yet lost. Give me space, please. I stand with you, but must see for myself the enemy."
And so the now brave warriors parted before Morgana and I.
Looking over the wall the Roman army waited.
Mars’ host had grown considerably. It seemed the Riders of Elkilbour could only do so much to suppress such a vast host. They must have tripled their size. Thousands of spears glinted in the night and fires blazed.
"Mars is calling up forces from down south. Even if we repel him tonight his army will continue to grow. He intends to throw his full might at the city rather than let it thrive outside Roman dominion."
"But why?"
"I suspect arrogance, but also the Druids. The Roman fervour to annihilate them is like nothing I have ever seen. So much so as to try a reckless attack."
"The Romans can beat the clans and the druids. It ain’t too reckless."
"You forgot yourself. Literally. You are here. You alone should be enough to make the Romans practice restraint."
"What is it to have the power that bests armies?" I pondered.
"I wouldn’t know." She said with cold sincerity.
I am what some historians thought. A single great man who could alter the fate of entire lands.
"Show face. Hopefully it will make the war god back off."
"He beat me last time."
"You’re still standing. Don’t underestimate how terrifying it is to face a loser who stands back up."
"I’m a loser now?"
She took my hand, "You are my champion and a dream. I spoke out of turn." She apologised. "It’s been a long night. Sorry."
I squeezed her hand, "Only teasing."
She pushed me away with a slam of her hips, "Prick." She said with good humour.
I watched Mars pull back a fist and then punch the wall. The entire ground and wall itself shook and cracked. Ancient magic and stone held. Just.
I’d seen Mars serious before. He was playing. Just like he had with me.
I blasted a bolt of lightning down in retaliation. The sky split open and the booming thunder silenced the entire city. The blue bolt hit like a missile atop Mars’ head.
There was no need for words. The vast distance between them notwithstanding. I was alive and ready to defend Elkilbour with the Clans and the Druids desperate to protect their home.
Mars seeing my left. Following Mars to much distress the Roman army stood down and settled into their camp for another night. The battle for the night is prevented. I was tempted to strike the camp, but didn’t. I regretted my restraint even as I endured it. I questioned the future cost of my mercy.
Deaf to my internal turmoil, shock and joy ran rampant among the warriors and Druids defending the wall. Brilliant smiles and hurrahs abounded. Laughter spread like a disease.
"Seems he didn’t know I was alive."
"Told you he would stop." Morgana confirmed pulling me into a bear hug. "Praise you. Praise my Champion. Praise!" She said with great enthusiasm.
I let her be consumed in joy.
I, however, worried. I did not see a victory. I saw an inevitable confrontation delayed. Still, I’ve got to thank Donna cowardly, thick ass. If she hadn’t found us, I may not have come in time.
We stayed a while to make sure the Roman really were done for the night. Then we left.
"Take us down into the city. I could do with a walk in the clear night air before we return." Morgana asked me.
I did just that. Flying us away from the wall and towards the city proper. About a ten minute walk away from the Circle of Druids. The ’city’ , the small town-like urban area close to the castle, was alive with noise, but the streets were quiet. Fear kept the populace awake, but stuck them inside.
Morgana held my hand and dragged me into a dark alley.
Her back turned to me, she placed her other hand against the wall and the one holding mine at her hip. She stuck her bum out and spread her legs wide. She waved to me with her ass. Wiggling for my attention.
"Take me."
It was a rather sudden request, but I won’t lie. My heart quicked and my hard member throbbed for her.
I should have realised and remembered that violence was a huge turn on for her. Taking my ’wand’ out, she dropped her trousers enough to give me access. My tip kissed her wet folds. I slipped in with ease and knew gratitude for how much combat made her wet.
I pounded her rough by taking her with one hand at her hip and the other pulling her hair. More of a beastial rutting of animals in heat than lovemaking, I blew in her before she could hit bliss. I panted in her ear and rested for a moment.
An odd lapse for me, magic enabled me to delay and focus on a woman’s pleasure. In the back of my mind, I replayed dying to Mars. I was consumed by the recollection of seeing him again tonight and being on the precipice of fighting again.
"Damian?"
I felt her warmth and fierce desire flooded through me.
I took her again. I fucked her mindlessly. I do believe she came. I know I did. I just focused on her warmth and her moans and was consumed by the pleasure I got from her. A rather nasty sex in the end and I knew shame for it.
We walked with her affectionately taking my arm while I awkwardly allowed it. Caught in my selfish action she didn’t seem to even notice.
"What’s wrong, my champion. You seem sad."
"I’m afraid."
She listened.
"I who can bend reality in many ways according to my will, but I am afraid. I am unhappy at heart. I care little for my own life, but I am attached to you. I bind myself to you, Iris, even Umbra, Samiya and our small group. Though brief our time, the thought of losing you should I be defeated by Mars is as painful as my separation from my parents. I know no peace and my courage shakes at the thought of facing Mars again. Yet you all depend on me. I’m hopeless."
I had let it out. All at once and with words spoken in haste. I wonder if I was at all clear. I looked at her, my eyes struggling to meet her.
She smiled with uncharacteristic warmth. The hardened warrior, the betrayed daughter and the confident leader, Morgana shone like sunlight. An effect only slightly dispelling knowing my cum dripped down between her legs and I could sex from us both. A hybrid of transient pleasure and lasting compassion crystalised in her.
She thought for a moment like she was swallowing the meaning of what I had said and carefully considering how to respond.
"You are my hope. Not Iris, who I love more than all else. I am attached to you too. It is painful because I know your struggles and I share them. You do not carry us alone. I lead. I don’t do it because I am sure of victory or blind to the losses we may face. I do it because with your every action you make me want to keep trying. I resigned myself to be a hermit content with love, proud warrior and curious intellect. You have given my responsibility, power and call to be a hero. In our brief time, I have done more to help others and grow myself than all the rest of my days combined. Those days were wonderful, but so too is my time with you precious. If you want to run just know I will run with you. You matter more than the power you have given. Please have hope and if you don’t that is okay. I can lead us through there too."
A small tear dripped out of one of my eye. I hadn’t realised how much I needed to hear her support or how much I had wanted to express my worries.
I nodded and swallowed. My throat felt ever so dry.
"I could do with a drink of water."
She tugged at my hand.
"Come we will be back soon. Walk with me. I’ll tell you all the silly things Iris has done."
So, I listened as Morgana told a dumb story or two and we returned to an anxious family. We returned with good news that we were safe for tonight.
