SON OF THE HERO KING -
Chapter 715
“Princess, please stop fidgeting.”
“Ugh..” Setsuna groaned with a wail as the servants around her worked tirelessly to adjust her kimono for the incoming official coronation of the Queen in front of the entire country.
After leaving Shuten Doji, Setsuna was whisked away by her retainers before she could even say anything. Though even if she could say something, her hands were tied in this aspect. A part of her still saw herself as a knight and faithful protector of Sol. And it was an age-old adage that all knights, capable and loyal, hated wearing complicated clothes. The only thing they did was get in the way of her moving her body.
However, the rational part of herself understood that it was not a matter of what she wanted. Rather it was a matter of what was required of her to do. As the only remaining royal family member of Wratharis and the sole Blessed of the nation, she had a duty to her kingdom that she was unable to ignore, nor was she willing to.
“I get… Ahem… I understand.”
A glare from one of the elder maids made Setsuna clear her throat. She did not fear them, not in the least, and she was not crass enough to use non-formal language in such scenarios. Still, even she could get overwhelmed sometimes and let some crassness slip, such was the case now.
“Heh… I guess becoming queen isn’t all that rosy.”
The voice coming from the side did not help Setsuna in the least to calm her nerves. Now, even she had the privilege to glare down at the intruder lying on the sofa not far from where Setsuna stood like a doll to be dressed up.
“Lilin, what are you doing here? Aren’t you supposed to be training?”
Lilin Luxuria was as beautiful as always. Ever since she awakened her succubus bloodline, she became even more alluring and seductive. Her long purple hair was as eye-catching as it had always been, nay, perhaps it had become even more enchanting. She was wearing a simple white shirt and a short red skirt. At her hips was a sword of unnatural length. The daughter of the Queen Regent of Lustburg was one of the few who was allowed to keep her weapon while next to Setsuna in this place.“Heh, and miss a muscle brain like you acting like a princess? Never in all of eternity.” Lilin giggled as she munched on pastry cakes with relish. Lustburg had connected a portal that relied on the two countries, allowing easier travel between them.
This was mainly done to allow Setsuna to get easier access to Sol and the others, but since Sol was not currently in Lustburg, she had been focused on her royal work. As for Lilin, she was currently one of the most bored persons in the whole of Wratharis/
All the witches were busy preparing for Medea’s wedding, and half the national power was busy working on the security details for said wedding. Meanwhile, Lilith had vanished somewhere and was training with Sun Wukong constantly. The two became quite friendly though from the way they fought against each other when training, one would think they were trying their best to kill each other.

For all her talents, Lilin understood very well that she was not worthy to intrude upon those monsters' training regimen. They were simply too high-level for her. At least, for now.
In all of Lustburg, Lilin only had four friends.
Clara was perhaps currently the most busy woman in Lustburg, so there was no way Lilin could disturb her even if she wanted to. She was not a monster in that sense.
Nuwa was in the custody of the Thousand Spells Witch. From what she knew, they were preparing a new body for Echidna and also preparing how to separate the two souls in the safest way possible.
Isis was nearly as busy as Clara, her undead horde was working on overdrive, and the girl herself was half absent-minded most of the time, as if worried about some problem only she knew about. Lilin had tried to help her with her problems, however, Isis politely declined. She made it clear that it was something she had to work on alone, for it was a hindrance in her path and no one else could walk the path for her. Lilin understood and left her to her devices.
“That only leaves you, dear friend of mine.”
“Geh. Thanks, I guess, but I am busy as well as you can see.”
“I wouldn’t say fitting yourself in some ceremonial dress is being busy. But what do I know, I am not the future Queen of a kingdom.” Lilin chuckled again before sighing heavily.
Setsuna could see that, despite the casual and nonchalant aura Lilin was exuding, she also had her share of worries.
She mused a little before signaling the maids to leave. They seemed slightly hesitant, but in the end, they bowed and left sequentially. Even though they were hesitant, they could do nothing but obey when the soon-to-be Queen of the nation ordered them to do something.
Now alone in the room, Setsuna snapped her finger, spreading her mana all around to create an isolation barrier, and finally asked, “So. What is really happening?”
“What do you mean?” Lilin tried to appear nonchalant, however, Setsuna would have none of that.
“Out with it. I need to go to work soon you know? What is bothering your little head?”
She adjusted the blue Kimono she was wearing and took a few measured steps to not undo the strenuous work put into fitting the complex clothing before sitting next to Lilin. She had forgotten how uncomfortable those traditional dresses were. But wearing it gave her a certain feeling of happiness she was unable to explain properly. A cultural appreciation of the soul, perhaps?
“Urggh…” Lilin groaned, but in the end, she only sighed before speaking in a resigned tone, “I have been thinking about many things, you know. About mom, about myself, about my power, about Sol and the more I think, the more I end up feeling confused.”
“Are you feeling useless or weak?” Setsuna asked gently, trying her best to be reasonable and accommodating. Lilin shook her head in response, denying such a thing,
She scratched her head, “Nah… I mean, I can feel I can reach the King rank soon, you know. I am just still a little confused about what Name to put on the Concept I have already readied. It’s a bit daunting.”
She lifted a finger, and a red haze covered it.
War.
A concept that was quite brutal, but one that suited Lilin in a way few concepts could. After all, the first Intent she cultivated was bloodlust.
“After that whole ritual with Sol, I keep feeling like it’s just a matter of time. So no, I am not really feeling left out. It’s just… I guess I feel a little jealous?”
She mumbled.
“Jealous?”
“Yeah.” Lilin nodded, “I mean, let’s be honest. The last thing Sol needs is firepower. Even if I ascend to the King realm, at most I can only take a small part of his burdens, and it isn’t like he has a lack of King-ranked folks running around him either.”
Setsuna gave a bitter smile, but there was nothing she could say against that. The Tower of Babel was housing enough powerhouses to strike fear into the heart of anyone. Furthermore, he also had connections with so many powerful beings outside of Lustburg or even the Mortal Realm.
Truthfully, a new King was not enough of a boost for the proverbial monster he has become.
