Sky-cracking Rider
Chapter 894 - 894: Section 887 - Treasure? Trap?

Although it was already known that the abnormal region within Persian sovereignty contained various crystals, including a newly discovered superconducting crystal of great economic value, the vast abnormal region with a maximum diameter of about 300 kilometers was a tumultuous upheaval. The terrain had turned into a living storm of surging waves, violently fluctuating, making immediate mining attempts futile.

Many stone pillars could not withstand the shaking and collapsed one by one, with the surface stone scales peeling off like falling snow.

To satisfy Chen Fei's curiosity, ten complete stone scales were extracted from the sample library and sent to the ship's bridge, each sealed in a fully transparent crystal chamber.

Before the ground-penetrating bombs were dropped, sample collection had never stopped, with various scavenging yielding abundant results. Several ship compartments were filled to capacity, and from them, a few items were extracted without impacting the research work of the Persian Sovereignty Survey Team.

Each stone scale was nearly ten meters at its largest dimension, and the ten sample chambers almost completely filled the ship's bridge.

Chen Fei had to relocate three thousand Pure Light Sparrows and their grassy nests to the adjacent compartment, which was not much smaller than the bridge, then moved a few trees over as makeshift playgrounds for these little birds.

The giant battleship was mostly empty, with few supplies and equipment occupying space, even though more than a thousand people had moved in one after another. However, there was still plenty of room to temporarily shuffle and rearrange things. The only issue was the ship's map often changed, necessitating attention to navigation guides to avoid going in the wrong direction.

Dozens of combat mechs entered the ten sample chambers, using picks to tap away. Indeed, they occasionally knocked out chunks of various colors, some transparent, some semi-transparent, some completely opaque, including the newly identified superconducting crystal.

In no time, the ten stone scales were shattered to bits, yet the positions of each crystal were recorded earlier via X-ray, so there was no worry about shattering the crystals along with everything else.

The ten stone scales yielded 102 crystals of various colors, which will need sorting for classification.

These crystals were then sent to the replicated lab where "Adam" took over, conducting tests on density, crystal phase (metallography), conductivity, surface hardness, toughness, refractive index, melting point, vaporization point... completing the entire procedure, and naturally, they all turned to ashes.

Without any warning, the entire lab was instantly heat-melted by a sudden high temperature, destroying all equipment. Fortunately, there was no noticeable shockwave, only the hot liquid alloy nearly affected the surrounding compartments, but luckily, they were all unoccupied. Not a single person was there.

The battleship trembled slightly, as if nothing had happened.

"Terminate all experiments, clear the survey team's lab!"

Chen Fei glanced at the experiment records just before the unexpected heat-melting incident, instantly issuing a command to forcibly close the designated laboratory.

It's his turf, and he calls the shots.

A group of combat mechs stormed into the Persian Sovereignty Survey Team's lab, pulling out all the experts and technicians like chicks.

Everyone was caught off guard, bewildered.

When they finally reacted, they found themselves locked outside the lab, unable to retrieve even their notebooks, angrily pounding on the re-solidified walls, and now there wasn't even a door.

"Rookie, what happened?"

From far-off Midway Island, the communication group in the command center sent an inquiry, having been monitoring the entire situation within the battleship and Chen Fei's communications.

If there is no reasonable explanation, it won't be easy to deal with the sovereign authority.

"There is an extremely dangerous crystal that, when in contact with a laser, triggers a nuclear chain reaction."

Chen Fei was reviewing the Persian Sovereignty's experimental progress, relieved for his decisive action, for within an hour, they would have worked on that dangerous crystal, causing the entire lab's experts and scholars to evaporate into thin air.

Even though it was an extremely small nuclear chain reaction, if the power were a bit stronger, don't be fooled by the giant battleship's size, it would mean nothing in the face of a nuclear reaction.

And luckily it's an all-metal hull, otherwise the intense radiation released would have killed many people instantly. AI "Adam" indeed detected lethal radiation levels sufficient to tear biological genetic chains into pieces instantly.

Adam: Need weapon-grade nuclear reaction data.

"Submit an application and send the data package."

Chen Fei saw the keyword "weapon-grade nuclear reaction" and realized the high danger level of this chain reaction crystal.

Damn, it's a natural nuclear weapon; it's unclear if the criticality involves only lasers, or if hammers (guns) would work too?

"What did you send?"

The communication operator, Miss, was puzzled, not understanding the professional terminology and data at all.

Frankly, Chen Fei didn't understand them either; after all, it was all compiled by "Adam," as long as someone understood it, it's fine.

"Send it to nuclear weapon experts, compare it with the nuclear experiment database."

Chen Fei suggested leaving professional matters to professionals.

The nuclear experiment database isn't something an ordinary person can access, and it wouldn't be an exaggeration to call it a national treasure.

Like how egg-eaters don't need to ask how hens lay eggs, similarly, Chen Fei can wield massive weapons like the Tsar Plus and Elemental Annihilation Bomb, but this doesn't mean he has the authority to access sensitive nuclear physics information and special alchemy secrets.

"Understood!"

The communication operator's fine hairs stood on end, not daring to look further, swiftly reporting up the chain to those with higher authority for further action.

"What just happened?"

Miyoshi Xuesen and Heseman Brown only realized the situation belatedly.

Chen Fei's swift actions left them unable to intervene.

Managing the entirety of the heat-melted lab, Chen Fei fused it into a sphere, earnestly saying, "Accidentally detonated a nuclear bomb!"

The fused all-metal sphere reached a total mass integer, which was recycled as energy points, then re-exchanged into a much smaller cubic form of pure gold, maintaining the same total mass.

Although left for a month, the radiation source would naturally decay into harmless components, but there's no need to wait.

The Dog System resolved the residual radiation source for Chen Fei; one energy point in exchange for a ton of metal, fair and square, no one gained at another's expense.

Originally, there were still some crystalline samples waiting to be tested in the laboratory, which also got written off in the sudden nuclear reaction.

"Nuclear? Nuclear bomb?"

Miyoshi Xuesen's eyes were wide open.

Holy shit!

Don't let the six hundred-meter length of the giant airship fool you; if it gets hit by a nuclear bomb implosion, not even scraps would be left.

Losing the airship is a small issue, the key is that they themselves would be gone too!

"What happened?"

The S-Class Space Ability User, Heseman Brown, was still in a fog, completely unaware that everyone inside and outside the airship had a close call with death.

"He said he just detonated a nuclear bomb!"

Miyoshi Xuesen pointed straight at Chen Fei, wondering why the nuclear bomb didn't blow this little bastard to smithereens. Just look at this guy gloating!

"Hiss!~"

The S-Class Space Ability User glared at Chen Fei, muttering with twitching lips, "Where'd you get the nuclear bomb?"

Nuclear bombs aren't something you just decide to use. Unlocking and operating one is no less complicated than an Element Annihilation Bomb. The safety restrictions on tactical-level weapons are complicated precisely to prevent mishandling, otherwise, what if some idiot set the launch password to '00000000'."

A platform rose before Chen Fei with a flash of silver light from a "Spatial Branding," revealing a box on the surface.

Inside the transparent box lid were compartments of various sizes, filled with different-sized pieces or tiny granular substances of various colors.

He opened the lid and took out a yellowish-green transparent crystal, faint growth rings visible upon it. Chen Fei held it in his hands, swayed it in front of Miyoshi Xuesen and Heseman Brown, signaling to them before saying, "This is what instantaneously melted down my entire laboratory."

The equipment within the lab had already been logged into the "Physical Evolution Database" of the Metal Series Super Power Technique, ready to be replicated at any time, as all mass was recorded except for a slight amount vaporized.

"Be careful, don't blow it up!"

The monk turned pale, holding a nuclear bomb without any protective measures, isn't this man utterly reckless?

"Hehe, put it back already!"

Heseman Brown wasn't sure his supernatural abilities could withstand a nuclear blast, as it's never been tested after all.

The characteristic of his Psi Skill is transfer; if he could escape, why stay and face it head-on.

"The confirmed detonation condition just now was laser irradiation, maybe there are particular requirements on the laser parameters too, but it was by chance, and there's no opportunity to try a second round."

Courting death, Chen Fei waved the freakishly colored crystal around once more, putting it back into the storage compartment, while the sample box remained on the platform.

For the next experiment, he was determined not to conduct it within the airship. Well, the abnormal space nearby is a good location, even if it explodes sky-high, it won't affect the outside.

Emmm... the inside's already been blown sky-high.

Having exploded once, might as well blow it a second time, Chen Xiao'er ambitiously planned.

Truth exposed, he is indeed a bomb maniac!

"There is a treasure here!"

The S-Class Superpower User turned his head to look out the floor-to-ceiling window of the bridge, into the mist-shrouded area.

The superconducting crystal, nuclear reaction crystal, is perhaps just a minor part of many harvests, with even more and greater surprises awaiting the Blue Star Civilization to discover.

"This is a trap!"

The monk refuted with a completely opposing evaluation, as his skeptical nature acting up again.

"Treasure!"

Heseman Brown emphasized loudly.

"Trap!"

The monk did not back down, believing that S doesn't mean being right, for he is A, with only one class difference.

"Treasure!!"

"Trap!!!"

"Get out!~"

Whoosh! The monk vanished from inside the bridge, appearing at a desolate expanse twenty miles away from the airship the next second.

"..."

Some people just don't play fair!
