Chapter 95: Aphrodisiac

Mei Meili, who already felt hot and flushed with her fever, suddenly noticed her temperature rising even higher, and she tried to fan her face with her dainty hand.

When that didn’t work, she rose to find her favourite pink fan with the rabbits, and she sat back down with it, fanning herself and loosening the collar of her thin white robe, drawing Bai Li’s eyes like magnets as she unknowingly exposed her cleavage.

Bai Li had also started to feel uncomfortably hot, combined with a rising pull of desire.

He stared at Mei Meili as she fanned herself, her long, loose hair blowing prettily, her pink cheeks like sweet cherries, her generous cleavage quivering as she drew deep breaths trying to cool herself.

He grabbed to entire teapot and poured the contents directly into his mouth from the spout.

"B... Bai Li?" she asked him hesitantly as he drank like a savage. "I... I feel strange. Kind of hot all over, but not like a fever."

There was a throbbing thrum running through her body that she couldn’t identify and had never felt before.

Her eyes were glued to his chest now, and she was not even bothering to try to raise them back to his face.

She had a strong desire to reach out and touch his muscular chest, just to check what it felt like, nothing more... It was just natural curiosity! Was there truly any harm if she just poked it? she thought, as a delicious fuzzy haze settled in.

"Does it feel like a kiss could make it better?" Bai Li growled in response to her complaint of the rising heat.

She looked up at his face now, which was far too close, and the look in his eyes pierced her haze and made her jump. It was like they were burning into her very soul!

She leaned backwards, but he leaned forwards, making up for whatever space she managed to create between them.

Although she did very much feel like a kiss could help with whatever this thrumming feeling was, she retained just enough of her sanity to know that WAS NOT ALLOWED! No matter how much she felt like giving in.

Bai Li suddenly rested his forehead against hers, his lips a mere breath from her own. He wrapped his hand around her waist and pulled her across onto his lap.

"Bai Li!" she squealed. "What are you doing?"

"What I’ve wanted to do since the moment I first laid eyes on you."

"You’ve wanted to hold me on your lap?"

"More than that," he growled in a husky voice, running his fingers through her hair.

"B... Bai Li," she yelped, pulling her hair from his hands and moving it behind her back out of his reach.

No matter, he reached out and started to slowly slide her dress from one of her shoulders.

’WARNING, NOT ALLOWED’ flashed through her muddled head, and she gripped the fabric, holding it in place, while he tugged at it.

It tore, exposing more of her creamy flesh to his eyes, her smooth shoulder and part of her chest, while she clung to the torn remnant, holding it tight to her front.

"Bai Li! What are you doing," she cried. "You ripped my robe!"

"If you hadn’t tried to stop me it wouldn’t have ripped," he glowered.

"Of course I must stop you!"

Mei Meili grabbed her fan again and began desperately fanning both herself and Bai Li with the hand that wasn’t holding her dress in place.

He placed his hand in her hair and pulled her face to his, clearly about to kiss her.

"Aaah!" she tossed the fan in the air and slid her hand between their lips at the last second, so that when he dived in to kiss her, he found he was smooching her fingers.

What had gotten into the man? Had he gone crazy? she thought.

But come to think of it, she was tired, and her body felt like it was in desperate need of a warm embrace.

She really didn’t feel that much like resisting him any more... Was there really a need to say no to this beautiful soldier if he wanted to kiss her? Sometimes it was best to throw caution to the wind and experience life! Who would know? she reasoned, smiling to herself.

NO! NO! NO! came the last little voice of reason she could manage through the devil-may-care mood that had overtaken her brain.

She desperately hunted around for something to bring the man to his senses with.
