Chapter 587: Chapter 351: Holy Army 2 (Five-in-One)_2
"Miss Novlin, have you found any traces of the Emperor?"
Su Ming did not bother with pleasantries and asked directly.
Upon hearing this, Novlin and the others fell silent for a moment before responding with disappointment.
"Sorry, Lord Su Ming, we have not found any trace of the Emperor."
"This is troublesome."
"Lord Su Ming, listen to me, we did not just search the nearby starry sky. I also asked our other companions within the Dark Forest Star Sea, and no one has seen the Emperor. Therefore, your mother ship may have been sunk by the Imperial Army. You should be prepared for this possibility."
Novlin sighed and told Su Ming and the others.
"This...."
Kaff and the others felt somewhat desperate upon hearing this news.
Su Ming calmly analyzed the situation, considering Novlin’s words to be a possibility. Although the Emperor had retreated, it did not guarantee its escape.
After all, when they had rushed into the Dark Forest Starry Sky, they had been pursued by the Imperial Army and had lost many people.
"Although this is just my personal analysis, the likelihood is high."
Novlin spoke reasonably to Rhein and the others.
"We understand, Miss Novlin. Then, could you lend us a level 4 spaceship? Even a transport ship would do."
Su Ming let out a slight breath and said to Novlin.
Upon hearing this, Novlin shook her head and replied.
"Sorry, we don’t have any level 4 ships. The best we have is a level 3 transport ship, which is what we all rely on for survival."
"Level 3 ship? Then it’s all over. Without a curvature device, flying back to the Federation from here would probably take a thousand years, wouldn’t it?"
Rhein said, bewildered, after hearing this.
"No, a level 3 ship simply cannot cross the Star Sea."
Su Ming felt utterly helpless, feeling truly stifled at every turn.
"Sorry, we are really strapped for resources, but there’s still a way."
Novlin replied very apologetically.
"What way?"
Su Ming looked curiously at Novlin.
"Our Deputy Corps Commander has a level 4 transport ship in his hands. I can take you to him and try to borrow the ship. However, I can’t promise that the Deputy Corps Commander will agree to lend it."
Novlin told Su Ming.
Su Ming, still wanting to take a chance, immediately asked.
"That’s great, when can we go?"
"How about now? It just so happens that we also need to return to the main stronghold for some supplies."
Novlin was not inclined to delay.
Hearing this, Su Ming then said to Kaff and the others.
"Kaff, you all stay here and wait for me. I’m going to go with Miss Novlin."
"Are you sure you’ll be okay going alone?"
"No problem, I’ll just bring my Slaughter Mecha."
"Alright then!"
Seeing Su Ming so resolved, Kaff and the others did not say any more.
Novlin immediately turned and said to Bair and his group.
"Prepare the transport ship. Call the brothers."
"Alright!"
Bair quickly responded.
...
Not long after.
Su Ming controlled the repaired Slaughter Mecha, following Novlin’s mecha out of the Meteorite Stronghold and into the external starry sky.
A battered old transport ship floated in outer space at that time.
The whole transport hull was about five kilometers long, with its armor layer patched in various places and parts of the armor even curling up.
Su Ming took a deep breath. He had thought the Fatty Dun was bad enough, but this was even worse.
"Let’s board the ship!"
After saying that, Novlin controlled her mecha to fly towards the transport ship’s entrance.
"Okay!"
Su Ming closely followed.
Half an hour later, Su Ming and Novlin had secured their mechas and arrived at the transport ship’s central control room.
The central control room was very spacious; inside, it had an old-fashioned straight control panel full of various mechanical buttons.
At that moment, Fia and Bair and the others sat at the operating desk performing the final checks before departure.
Soon, the old electronic screen flashed with yellow warnings.
"Warning: Hydraulic device No. 2912 is malfunctioning."
"Warning: Sensor device No. K221 is abnormal."
...
"Big sister, preparations are complete, we can embark."
Bair said to Novlin.
Su Ming twitched his lips as he looked at the warnings.
Although he was not from the command series and did not know how to pilot a ship, he was not blind and could understand the text on the screen.
Dozens of fault codes, yet Bair and his team said they were ready.
Nevertheless, Su Ming restrained the urge to question them, as there were more than just him on the ship.
"Then let’s set off!"
Novlin decisively gave the order.
"Here we go!"
Bair and the others began starting up the ship’s thrusters.
The entire ship started to shake violently.
Novlin saw that Su Ming did not look very reassured and comforted him.
"Don’t worry, this transport ship may be old, but it’s still capable of traveling."
"Alright."
"Mr. Su Ming, you can rest for a while. We need to travel for over seven hours before reaching our destination."
"It’s fine, I’ll just sit here and watch."
Su Ming shook his head in response.
He still trusted Novlin and the others, but as for their equipment, he could hardly be complimentary.
"Alright then."
Novlin nodded slightly in agreement.
...
Seven hours later.
In the Dark Forest Star Sea.
An old level 3 transport hull shuttled within a grey nebula.
As the ship emerged from the grey nebula instantly, it entered a large Meteorite Zone.
Inside the central control room, Su Ming and Novlin stood side by side at the observation platform, watching the meteorites streaking through the starry sky.
