Chapter 251: Chapter 251: So Tragic (Second Update)

Mink took out three hundred-Federation Coin notes from his wallet and handed them to the owner before turning to Su Ming and Ankaga, saying,

"There’s not much to eat here, just small stalls—make do for now."

"It’s okay, let me introduce you, this is my classmate, Ankaga."

Su Ming introduced Mink.

"Hello!"

Mink greeted very politely.

"Hello, monitor, and how should I address you?"

Ankaga asked Mink with great curiosity.

"His name is Mink, he was my former monitor, and we have a very good relationship," Su Ming said with a smile.

Hearing Su Ming’s introduction, Ankaga immediately looked up to Mink with respect and said,

"So, you’re the monitor’s previous monitor, you must be really amazing."

"Er, I’m not that incredible," Mink replied, feeling quite embarrassed.

"Don’t be modest now, our monitor is just as humble."

Ankaga didn’t believe a word Mink said.

At that moment, the owner brought over three bowls of noodles and placed them on the small table. The portion of noodles was decent, and they even came with some extra minced meat on top.

"Let’s eat while it’s hot. After we finish, we can browse around together."

Su Ming told both Mink and Ankaga.

"Sure!"

Mink and Ankaga bowed their heads and started eating the noodles.

It was then that a young man wearing a casual T-shirt, with red hair and a somewhat high nose bridge, who did not seem to be from the Federation, came over and said to the owner,

"Boss, please give me a bowl of noodles too."

The uncle glanced at the man in front of him and spoke up directly.

"1000 Federation Coins a bowl!"

Su Ming and the others, who were in the middle of their meal, nearly choked upon hearing the owner’s price, incredulously turning to look.

Upon hearing the price, the young man’s face went red with anger, but he still suppressed his irritation and asked,

"1000 Federation Coins, isn’t that too expensive?"

"Take it or leave it."

"But, they clearly only paid 100 Federation Coins per bowl. Why is mine so expensive?"

"You? Who do you think you are? Comparing yourself to them? They’re from the inner planets; what about you? Do you have an identity card?"

The uncle retorted without a hint of politeness.

"I...."

"You have nothing, no registration, and still dare to argue with me, if you’re not eating then get lost!"

"I’ll have it."

In the end, the young man hung his head and took out a crumpled Federation Coin note from his pocket and handed it to the uncle.

The uncle took it with a look of disdain and then said,

"Wait."

Su Ming and the others exchanged glances and silently continued eating.

By the time they finished and were ready to leave, the uncle had prepared the bowl of noodles and unceremoniously placed it in front of the young man.

Su Ming glanced at the bowl of noodles; not even a speck of minced meat was to be seen.

They quickly left the stall, and after walking a distance, Mink sighed and said,

"These refugees, they really have it tough."

"It’s quite normal. With their country gone, what human rights can you expect? Just being able to survive is good enough."

Ankaga seemed to take a pragmatic view of the situation.

"Some things are beyond our control; we just need to do our own part. Don’t think too much about it. Let’s continue browsing the stalls; there are some pretty good things here."

Su Ming said to both Mink and Ankaga.

"Sure!"

Mink didn’t say much more.

Su Ming and his two companions immediately started browsing the stalls one by one, and in the blink of an eye, over three hours had passed.

These stalls really sold everything.

From luxury brand bags to various kinds of gemstone jewelry, they had it all!

Su Ming and his friends even saw someone selling Type I Genetic Potions, a commodity that’s usually unseen in the Federation.

Despite what Celeste had said earlier about which companies were selling, in reality, those companies only sold to specific clients and rarely retailed to unrelated individuals.

Watching the Genetic Potion, Su Ming and his friends were very tempted, but in the end, they decided against it.

After all, they’d have to use it on themselves, and who knew if the quality was good or if it had any defects.

However, aside from that, the trio did find quite a few valuable items.

Aside from purchasing the Concomitant Ore, Su Ming also found two other great items: a palm-sized piece of Dragon Fragrant Wood and a Blue Crystal Gemstone necklace.

Both items were perfect for reselling and could fetch a high price back on the Third Planet.

"This really is a huge haul, I can sell the stuff I got today back on the Third Planet for a profit. I can easily make four to five million, and I spent less than three hundred thousand," Ankaga said with a grin so wide he could hardly close his mouth.

"I feel the same, it’s too cheap here. I think anything I resell back home could make a lot of money."

Mink was also very happy; he wasn’t exactly flushed with cash, so if he could take these items back to the Third Planet, he’d definitely make a killing.

After hearing Mink’s words, Su Ming thoughtfully said,

"Mink, give me your items and an address. I’ll send them to you once I’m back on the Third Planet."

"Okay, I’ll count on you then."

While Mink was puzzled by the request and didn’t understand why the extra steps were needed, he agreed immediately and handed his items to Su Ming.

"There’s no need for formalities between us."

Su Ming said to Mink with a smile.

"Yeah, it’s getting late, I should head back to the hotel, or it’ll be a hassle if the teacher does roll call."

Mink glanced at his phone for the time and reluctantly said to Su Ming.

"Alright, we should head back soon too."

Su Ming, holding the items, bid farewell to Mink.

"Goodbye!"

Mink waved to Su Ming and his friend before he left.

At this point, Ankaga looked at Su Ming holding so many things and said,

"Class president, wait for me. I’ll go get a cloth bag. It’ll be too much of a hassle holding all this stuff."

"Sure."

Su Ming agreed.

Ankaga quickly ran off to a nearby shop and, soon enough, came back with a large cloth bag.

The two of them dumped all the items into the bag and carried it toward the nearby subway station entrance.

"Class president, let’s continue shopping here tomorrow."

Ankaga suggested as they walked.

"Yeah, we can invite Rhein and the others too."

Su Ming agreed in response.

However, as they passed by a small alley, Su Ming suddenly stopped and looked inside.

Ankaga, puzzled, also looked in.

Inside the alley, five young men, dressed in flashy shirts and exuding an unsavory air, were blocking the way of Catherine and her mother Hai Lan.

"Where do you think you’re going?" asked the leader, a young man barely 1.6 meters tall, with a sneering smile.

"Dumbstruck, huh? Didn’t you hear? Our big brother Amu is talking to you!" said a lackey beside him fiercely when the two women remained silent.

"What do you want? I need to take my mother for treatment," Catherine said, fear evident in her voice, but she mustered the courage to speak.

"Treatment? When did you get money?" Amu sized up Catherine and Hai Lan from head to toe.
