Plop-! Plop-!

In my blurry vision, I could see I was walking on a mud field. I was also the only one who could move in a world where everything had stopped. Instantly, I could tell that this strange sight was nothing but a dream.

The black mud drew ripples as if it was flowing quickly across the floor, and on top of it was a bed that shouldn’t be in the mud at all. It was a bed that suddenly popped out on top of the endless mud.

The bed which was sinking into the mud had a very familiar shape. It was a large and soft-looking bed. It was precisely the bed where the blue girl’s body had been lying.

Just today, I made a cookie house to store the blue girl and her bed, so that was probably the reason I saw her in my dream, right?

I slowly walked to the bed, stepping on the mud that had hardened like a stone in the stopped time. As I looked down at the antique bed with delicate decorations, I heard a faint voice. It felt as if it was a ‘conversation from a certain moment’ from a cross-section of time.

It was the voice of the blue girl speaking with an exaggerated intonation mixed with a bit of playfulness.

“Mortals struck down the Divine One. Yet, in their time of need, they yearned for its return. Though Divine One raged with fury, it shielded the wayward mortals.”

“The ‘cruel’ part is the problem. God is not human, so it probably couldn’t understand humans. Maybe it didn’t even have the concept of ‘understanding’.”

“That’s why humans must become gods.”

With those words, the blue girl’s bed turned black and collapsed like mud.

Humans must become gods.

Those words strangely bothered me.

As the bed collapsed, other items appeared in the distance. This time as well, it was a familiar item. It was a statue of a man looking at the sky with his right fist clenched tightly.

There were a few differences, but the man’s identity was definitely the leader of the ‘Eye Cult.’

Again, a voice flowed out from the statue.

It was the calm voice of the Cult Leader, without a single trace of madness.

“Humans cannot become gods.”

“All humans who became Magic Books have gone mad, so there is no way they can become gods.”

“We can only continue to practice asceticism and wait.”

Then the statue of the Cult Leader turned into the mud just like the bed and collapsed.

And then something else emerged in the distance.

It was a perfect sphere that had the same color as the black mud.

< Unchanging Black Ball >

As I approached the black ball, a very small voice flowed out of it. Even though It was a small voice, it sounded like the groans of a dying person.

“The Magic Book that killed God must disappear for God to return.”

“May my wish reach God.”

As soon as those words ended, my blurry vision began to gradually become opaque.

That was the end of the dream.

In the next moment, silence where no sound could be heard and a bed that warmly embraced me greeted me. I returned to the quiet containment room.

Sehee Research Institute was still quiet, as if the morning had not yet come. The Mini Reapers also all stuck to my body, sound asleep.

But, on my bedside, there was a pure white wrist. It was a wrist that gave off a delicious coconut scent. Behind that wrist, there was a Hungry Ghost Reaper looking at me with bright eyes. It stared at me with its chin up on the bed, as if it was expecting me to eat its wrist. ṚA𐌽ốᛒÈs

Eat?

When I raised my wrist and sent my will, the Hungry Ghost Reaper nodded its head.

Is it like a cat that brings mice to its owner every morning?

I took a bite of the jelly wrist that looked exactly like my wrist except for the color.

As expected, It was delicious!

It felt a little funny because I felt like I was eating myself.

As I was eating the Hungry Ghost Reaper with gusto, a strange thought occurred to me.

Wouldn’t the wrists of the Mini Reapers be tasty too?

While I was looking at the wrists of a Golden Reaper while thinking so, the Golden Reaper suddenly woke up as if it felt something.

After waking up, the Golden Reaper tried to find the cause of the ominous feeling it suddenly felt, but it couldn’t find it no matter how hard it tried. Eventually, it just tilted its head, went back into my arms, and fell asleep.

I spread out the mini palms of the Golden Reaper who was sleeping on my palm and stroked them.

Should I eat them or not?

In the meantime, I kept thinking about that difficult problem.

Now that I think about it, the Golden Reapers also smell really delicious…

*********

In a mysterious underground city that could be seen by penetrating the textured darkness which was created by Objects and could be entered through a hole in the park, researchers slowly walked around the city where various civilizations were mixed together.

There wasn’t anything special about the city, but it seemed worth studying because it had a similar culture to the relics that occasionally appeared in things related to Objects.

Of course, the Assistant of the Object Association’s President, the ‘Golden Bug’, seemed completely uninterested in such things.

He, who had been blocking employees from entering and transporting a lot of gold from the city, had shown up every day, but now he hadn’t even come to the site for several weeks. Soon after, as he thought he had collected enough valuable gold, he allowed the Association’s employees to enter.

Currently, only a few of his private soldiers remained, glaring and watching to see if there was anything else valuable.

The researcher from the association looked around the room located deep in the city and felt a deep sense of regret. It was clear that someone had been there before the people from the association came. Judging from the dust, the way it had been cleaned up, and the traces of paintings and mirrors on the walls, it should really be the case. Moreover, judging from the fact that something as large as a bed had been moved, it was obvious that many people had sneaked in in an organized manner.

The space where the most important items were supposed to be was empty. All that remained were books written in unknown characters and glass bottles that didn’t seem that important.

Still, since they had obtained many books with a completely new language system, they still could say they made a profit.

The researchers from the association diligently moved the piled-up books toward the ground while thinking about this and that.

*********

The tattooed woman was sitting in her workshop, looking up at the tower that seemed to pierce the sky. It was the James Tower that had begun to be built in Korea.

The James Tower, which was being built after purchasing a lot of cheap land on the outskirts of Songpa-gu, brought a wind of change to the abandoned Songpa-gu. Perhaps because of it, the number of people moving into the once desolate residential area gradually increased.

Her younger sister was quite happy, saying that the price of the house she bought cheaply had gone up a lot. From the perspective of the tattooed woman, it only felt a little more comfortable because the surrounding shopping district had started to become active.

However, from the woman’s perspective, there was a more direct and bigger change than the ‘James’ Tower’. Her workshop, which had only been able to dry and grind herbs, became more like an ‘alchemist’s workshop’. It was thanks to the numerous tools she brought from the ‘dead alchemist’s workshop’ that had occurred in the park.

“Do you want to try this too?”

Currently, the younger sister was sitting in the corner of the workshop, feeding the Golden Object some potato chips that she had broken into small pieces.

Om nom nom-!

The Golden Reaper ate the potato chips with its small mouth. At the same time, her younger sister was enjoying watching the Golden Reaper.

Normally, she would instantly kick any Objects from her workshop, but the woman just let her sister do what she wanted. The reason was that the subject she was currently researching was the ‘Golden Reaper’. She couldn’t help but do so because the Golden Reaper would disappear somewhere in an instant if something didn’t catch its interest.

This research began with a drawing she obtained from the ‘Dead Alchemist’s Workshop’. It was a drawing that depicted a blue-haired girl and a Gray Reaper in great detail.

When she saw the blue girl who looked exactly like the Gray Reaper, all the questions she had were answered. The existence of the blue girl became an explanation for the Guardians who suddenly appeared in a world that had no connection with alchemy. Perhaps the Gray Reaper was also the masterpiece of the blue girl who might be a great alchemist in her lifetime.

In a way, it could be said that the fact that she was alive due to the help of the Gray Reaper and the numerous tools she had brought from the workshop were all thanks to the ‘Blue Girl’.

So, the research began as a way to repay the Blue Girl.

The research was to study the Golden Reaper which was derived from the Gray Reaper and create weapons, armor, or elixirs for them. The research which began only to repay the favor became more and more serious as interesting facts began to come to light.

The Golden Reaper was clearly a Magic Book, but it seemed to be also something related to alchemy.

It had many rare abilities such as Phantom Form and Time Acceleration. However, amongst so many interesting abilities of the Golden Reaper, the most interesting of them was ‘energy’.

The energy that emitted light from the Golden Reaper’s heart was not that much, but it was incredibly powerful. However, the Golden Reaper was not utilizing that energy properly for some reason. At best, it was limited to receiving sunlight and shooting beams.

Taking note of that, the tattooed woman created a weapon just for the Golden Reaper. She named it, the Golden Reaper Sword of Light!

“Now, let’s start testing its power.”

When she handed the Golden Reaper a hilt without a blade, the Golden Reaper seemed delighted as if it had received a fun toy.

“Then, get ready!”

As soon as the woman finished speaking, a sword blade made of golden flames appeared from the hilt in the Golden Reaper’s hand. With a bright expression, the Golden Reaper raised the blazing lightsaber high above its head.

“Start!”

And with the sound of ‘Start!’, the Golden Reaper slashed the sword down. Then, a sword energy stretched out to match the swing of the sword, cutting the target steel bar cleanly. The steel bar was made of the strongest ‘Great Object’ alloy currently available in Korea, but the lightsaber cut it smoothly without any resistance.

When it saw the steel bar being cut, the Golden Reaper smiled brightly and jumped up and down.

With that, the final test of the weapon that had taken months to make came to a successful end.

When the tattooed woman turned her head, there were five small weapons made for the Golden Reaper, and next to them was a large sword hilt made for the Gray Reaper.

This should be enough to repay you.

The woman smiled happily as she looked at the weapon that had been successfully made.
