Chapter 66: Actions, Not Words
Christian led me over to his huge master bathroom. When I stepped inside, I couldn’t help but marvel at the sheer size of the room.
It was at least the size of my entire bedroom. The shower was in the exact center of the room, surrounded by glass walls on all four sides.
There was a large skylight directly above, making the shower feel like an open-air atrium. Everything else was decorated to be bright and earthy. Pops of green along with natural wood were intentionally placed around the room to make it feel like you were outside, among nature.
"This is quite the bathroom," I said, full of admiration.
Christian led me over to the huge shower, "You’re welcome to use it whenever you’d like. I’m excited to try out this dual shower head system for the first time."
We both stepped inside the enormous, glass shower. Christian turned on both shower heads, and a moment later, the shower was filled with flowing water, mimicking a rain shower.
"Wow, this is certainly one way to shower," I exclaimed as I twirled around.
Christian watched me enjoy myself, "We’ll that certainly seals the deal for me. This shower was a hundred percent worth the money."
He caught me mid-spin and pulled me into his arms. "Next time, we’re going to do a little something other than just shower in here."
"Oh, I wonder what you could possibly mean?" I teased.
We took turns washing each other’s backs while we showered. After we finished, I stepped back into his bedroom to look for my clothing.
"Christian, what happened to my clothes?" I asked, slightly confused.
It was still there when Jonathan came in earlier. Now I couldn’t find them anywhere.
Christian came out of the bathroom with a towel in his hair, "Oh, Jonathan must have come in to clean up. Don’t worry, I have a few things for you over here."
"Clothes for me?" I asked, turning to face him.
He motioned for me to follow him to one of the closets. As soon as I stepped inside, I was stunned.
"Why do you have so much women’s clothing? I feel like I just slept with a married man!" I exclaimed.
"Haha, we’ll I’m not married yet," he teased. "I bought all of this for you."
I looked at him with suspicion, unsure if I was willing to believe this entire closet was intended for only me.
"Don’t believe me? Just take a look at any of the clothes. They all have the tags on them, they’re all your size," he said confidently.
I picked up a random shirt and looked at the tag; sure enough, it was my size. Even the undergarments were all my size--only my size.
"I don’t understand, why?"
Why did you fill a closet in your own home with clothing for me?
He walked over, stopping only when he was almost touching me.
"Leslie, do you really not know?" he asked, staring into my eyes.
Before I had a chance to answer, he leaned over and kissed me. The kiss was slow, thoughtful, and full of intent. It was one that relayed his deepest feelings.
"One of these days, I’ll show you why I did it. Words wouldn’t be enough," he whispered as he pulled away from the kiss.
-
Another knock sounded on the bedroom door.
"Sir, we need to head out," Jonathan called out from the other side.
"Got it, we’ll be right out!" shouted Christian before turning to grin at me. "Come. Let’s get changed before my butler gets too stressed out."
I nodded and quickly combed through the closet, picking out a dress.
"No, no. It’s a long flight. Wear something comfortable. No one is going to see you," said Christian as soon as he noticed the dress in my hands.
"Oh, okay," I said and went to look for something more comfortable.
I ended up choosing jeans and a simple tank top. I also grabbed an oversized hoodie because last time I flew with my family, I remembered being freezing cold.
Christian got dressed in an equally casual outfit-- grey sweatpants and a black V-neck shirt. I found myself unable to hold back and took a moment to admire Christian’s look.
Who knew grey sweatpants with a simple black t-shirt could look so hot?
"Here." Christian handed me a pair of oversized designer sunglasses. "It’ll help keep you from being recognized at the airport."
I put my hair up into a messy bun, something I’ve hardly ever had a chance to do before, and put on the sunglasses.
"You look so hot. I’m not even being silly, you’re smoking hot right now."
"Thanks, I was just thinking the same about you," I replied.
At first, I didn’t believe that he found me hot, looking like this. But when I realized how hot he was in his casual clothes, I figured it must be a similar effect.
He grabbed my hand, wrapping his fingers around mine, and led me out of his room. I noticed the look of surprise on some of the cleaners’ and staff’s faces as we walked by holding hands.
Christian ignored them and led me straight out to the car, where Jonathan was patiently waiting.
"Just on time, sir!" he said and opened the door to the black car.
As I got into the car, I realized that I didn’t know where my purse or luggage was.
"Christian, I don’t know where my luggage is. Also, my purse has my plane ticket!" I said in a panic.
"Don’t worry, princess. Your luggage is already in the trunk of the car. Your purse is right there," he pointed to the nearby seat.
Sure enough, my purse was sitting in the car, next to me. "Thank you. I wouldn’t be able to forgive myself if I lost your gold chain," I mumbled under my breath.
As I nervously looked through my purse, searching for the gold chain, Christian pushed me against my seat.
"Do you even know what you do to me?" he asked, lifting my chin with his fingers.
He pulled my sunglasses off with his other hand and leaned in to kiss me.
Kissing me here? But Jonathan is here! And he can see!
