Secretary's Secret Lover
Chapter 506 What About Isabel?

Chapter 506: Chapter 506 What About Isabel?

Before Yvette could react, she had been pushed to the ground by Tanya.

She uncontrollably rolled a dozen feet away along the slope.

Yvette did not stop until she hit a stone sculpture.

Although her back was in pain, she kept holding Isabel tightly.

Before she figured out what happened, in the next second, Yvette heard a bang.

Tanya was knocked into the sky by the car, like a sponge, and then heavily fell to the ground!

"Ah!"

Yvette’s eyes turned red. She roared out in pain.

There was much blood on the ground. Tanya was lying in a pool of blood. Her eyes were wide open. She did not have time to close them.

"Help! Is there anyone? Help!"

Yvette leaned against the stone statue, unable to move. She could only scream like a nut.

The black car causing the accident did not leave!

She was about to continue to call for help when the black car let out an ear-piercing roar and rushed at her.

Yvette’s mind buzzed and instantly went blank.

The car was actually targeting her and Isabel!

She only wanted to keep Isabel safe.

Yvette struggled to lift her up, but the black car was obviously faster than her. It suddenly sped up and flew over.

Panic and despair instantly overwhelmed her.

Yvette opened her eyes wide helplessly and watched the black car cross the lawn like a rocket hitting its target, rushing towards her!

Something happened at this crucial moment.

A black Rolls-Royce suddenly appeared from nowhere.

Just as the black car was about to crash down, the Rolls-Royce suddenly jumped up from the slope and hit it with a loud bang.

The black car was directly dismembered into two halves in the air.

Bang!

It smashed onto the ground.

The person in the car died!

And the black Rolls-Royce landed steadily on the wet ground.

Except for the front bumper, there was no obvious damage.

Yvette and Isabel were not injured.

She stared at the eye-catching license plate of the black Rolls-Royce.

For a moment, she couldn’t breathe.

She knew the license.

She had not seen it since Lance disappeared.

How could it be?

The moment the car door opened, she couldn’t help but have some expectations.

She saw a pair of black leather shoes going out of the car, and then, Lance’s handsome back.

In a split second, Yvette felt her heart skip a beat.

She could not stop her tears.

Lance ran towards the pool of blood. Yvette came back to her senses from shock.

"Mrs. Wolseley!"

She ran over with the baby in her arms, and the scene was already a mess.

Marlon also arrived. When he saw Yvette holding Isabel, he quickly reached out and said, "Give Belle to me."

Yvette gave Isabel to Marlon, and then choked with sobs, "Marlon, look."

The handsome man carried Tanya who was covered in blood and got into the ambulance.

Marlon was also shocked. Yvette was worried about Tanya and said to Marlon, "Marlon, help me take care of her. I’ll go with Mrs. Wolseley."

"You go." Marlon nodded.

Lance had already gotten on the ambulance, and Yvette quickly stopped him just as he was about to close the door.

"Wait a minute! Can I get on?"

It was a large ambulance instead of the small-scale one. It was no problem to accommodate one more person.

The medical staff was stunned. They glanced at her and then looked at Lance.

Yvette also looked up. He looked the way he used to be.

But he was a lot thinner, and his face became angular with prominent cheekbones.

Yvette’s uneasiness turned into peace after seeing him. Just as she was about to speak, she heard his indifferent voice, "Close the door."

Of course, he didn’t say to her, but to the nurse.

The nurse closed the door apologetically.

Yvette stood rooted to the ground. The ambulance horn faded away, and she was still motionless.

Marlon was going to take Isabel away.

But when seeing Yvette standing there, he immediately got off the car and came over.

"Yvette."

Yvette stood in the same place as if she didn’t hear anything. Her hand had been cut somehow, and blood dripped onto the ground.

Marlon reached up to embrace Yvette and asked anxiously, "When did your hand get hurt?"

Yvette felt weak all over. She leaned into his arms and said in a trembling voice, "Marlon... I’m so scared. Lance doesn’t seem to know me anymore."

Marlon was a little shocked. He comforted her. "He might be worried about his mother. Don’t think too much about it."

Yvette nodded. However, Lance’s gaze was not only distant but also strange.

After thinking for a while, Marlon said, "Let’s go to the hospital first."

They got to the hospital. Isabel was completely healthy without any problems.

Yvette breathed a sigh of relief and hastened to the emergency room to wait for Tanya.

As soon as she arrived at the emergency room, she saw Lance standing at the door.

Suddenly, she felt a little scared and hesitated, not daring to go forward.

After hesitating for a few seconds, she went forward and said, "Lance."

Lance looked up at her. That was a very distant look.

It was in early autumn, but Yvette felt so chilly that she didn’t know if it was because the emergency room had always been cold.

Yvette stared fixedly at him with her bright eyes. "Don’t worry. She will recover..."

"Got it," Lance said coldly.

Then, he turned around and continued to stare at the door.

The light in Yvette’s eyes instantly dimmed.

She didn’t understand what he meant.

She felt uneasy, but still mustered the courage to take a step forward and hold Lance’s arm. "Lance, are you okay..."

Before she finished speaking, he lifted her arm and waved it away.

Yvette was extremely weak because of fatigue. Even if he didn’t use much strength, she still staggered back a few steps.

She struggled to stand still and looked at his distant face.

It occurred to her that Lance might suffer memory loss.

Perhaps Lance had hit his head and lost his memory like what Yvette had experienced.

With this thought, she tried to speak in a tone that Lance got familiar with, "Lance, do you know me? I am..."

But Yvette suddenly paused when she saw his expression.

There was mockery in his eyes.

She did not understand why he was looking at her in that way.

"Ms. Lynn?" Lance looked down at her, his thin lips moving.

In the empty and cold corridor, his voice sounded chilling.

Yvette felt like she was rapidly falling from a height of 10,000 feet!

No memory loss. But why did he speak to her in such a distant and cold way?

Her lips trembled. "Why are you..."

"Ms. Lynn, my mother might die because she tried to save you. Why bother asking?"

Lance seemed to be unwilling to see her. He said coldly, "Now, please go."

The surroundings were terrifyingly silent.

Yvette was in despair. She trembled all over, and even her footsteps were unsteady.

She struggled to stand still with her hand against the wall. Then, she slowly said, "Lance, no. You can’t call me like that..."

Hearing this, Lance finally turned to look at her. He said coldly, "Why?"

Yvette was stunned for a second. "Because I love you. And you also..."

"Isn’t it hilarious for a divorced couple to talk about love? If they loved each other, they wouldn’t divorce, would they?" He said ruthlessly.

These words smashed the courage that Yvette had gathered with great difficulty into pieces.

Lance looked gloomy. He curled his lips. "I didn’t remarry you, right? Ms. Lynn?"

Facing his constant verbal attack, Yvette was unable to fight against it at all.

She hid her trembling hands behind her back. At this moment, she did not even have the courage to look up at him.

Seeing that she was still standing there, Lance ordered in an even colder voice, "Clear out the irrelevant people. Without my permission, do not let anyone get in."

The irrelevant people...

Lance who could risk his life to save her now said that she was an irrelevant person.

Yvette felt her chest tense.

The great depression made her almost unable to breathe.

The excitement of knowing he was still alive completely disappeared at this moment.

She stared at him, who was back to her. There were disbelief and despair in her eyes.

The bodyguards walked over to her. Yvette waved her hand in panic. "I’ll go now."

She sobbed. Even at this moment, she wanted to maintain the most basic dignity. It was for her and also for him.

She slightly looked up to hold back tears. Then she said, "I’m sorry that you encountered this when you just came back. You are right. At this time, I should not disturb you."

Yvette automatically attributed his weird words and behavior to his mother’s injury.

She was not scared off but decided to take a step back.

Without waiting for Lance to speak, she continued, "I am very sorry for Mrs. Wolseley’s injury. If there is anything I can do, please tell me at any time."

She spoke very quickly as if she was afraid that Lance would say something again. And she said in a low voice, "Well, as for the things between us, when Mrs. Wolseley gets better, we’ll talk about it."

After saying this, she did not dare to wait for Lance’s answers. She quickly turned to leave.

When the elevator door opened, she entered with misty eyes and slammed into a person.

"I’m sorry. I’m sorry," Yvette choked and said.

"Yvette?" Marvin looked at the woman who looked down and apologized in surprise.

The familiar address made Yvette’s eyes become teary again.

She thought, the way he calls me is the same as before, but Lance has changed...

She looked down, tears filling her eyes. She endured it. Her eyes hurt.

"Yvette, what’s wrong?" Marvin patted her back.

It was this small action that caused Yvette, who had been holding back tears for a long time, to cry.

Tears fell down her cheeks.

"Eh..."

Marvin didn’t know what to do. He took out a handkerchief and handed it over. "Don’t cry. What’s wrong? Tell me."

Once the tears fell, it was not easy to hold them back.

Yvette took the handkerchief and wiped it.

Then, she shrugged her shoulders and held her breath. In the end, she choked back her tears, but her shoulders were still trembling.

She looked up and asked, "Do you know that Lance has returned?"

"I..." Marvin scratched his head and stammered. "I know," he replied.

"Then do you know when he came back?" Yvette asked again.

Marvin thought about it and told the truth, "He got off the plane yesterday morning."

Yvette’s face turned ashen when he said this.

Lance got off the plane yesterday morning.

That meant he must have known that Isabel was missing and she got into trouble.

But he did not appear.

So, today, he showed up not for her and Isabel, but for Tanya who was in danger.

Yvette was completely silent.

Her small face was stained with tears. She looked fragile and adorable.

"Did... did something happen to Lance?"

This time, it was Marvin who went silent.

He paused and found it difficult to say. After thinking for a while, he said, "Yvette, forget it."

It was a great blow to her!

Yvette was in a trance.

"Why?" she asked unconsciously.

Marvin was silent, and she asked, "Why should I forget it? He risked his life to save me! Why?"

Yvette’s beautiful eyes were filled with tears. Marvin could not bear it and only wanted to curse.

"Yvette. Just listen to me. Just pretend that he is not alive."

Yvette was Marvin’s friend, and he did not want her to be hurt.

He had seen Lance’s determination.

So, for Yvette, the best protection was no expectation.

"He is alive, and he’s there. How could I pretend he’s gone?"

Yvette pursed her lips and forced a bitter smile.

The elevator reached the first floor, and she did not want to make things difficult for Marvin anymore.

"Mr. Icahn, I am fine. I’ll go."

As she spoke, she walked out of the elevator.

Marvin was worried, so he stuck his head out to take a look.

Yvette swayed and fell to the ground.

"Yvette!"

"Yvette!"

Marvin rushed out and bumped into Marlon who was looking for Yvette.

Marlon had already rushed to pick up Yvette. He nodded to Marvin. Then he called out to the doctor and quickly left.

Marvin did not leave. He followed Marlon. After confirming that it was because of weakness that Yvette passed out, Marvin quietly left.

He went upstairs. Tanya had finished the operation and been transferred to ICU.

Lance stood at the balcony of the corridor and smoked indifferently.

Marvin stepped forward and said, "Do you know you can’t smoke?"

Lance acted as if he had not heard anything. The cigarette between his fingers let out faint smoke.

"How is your mother?" Marvin asked again.

Lance extinguished the cigarette and said lightly, "If she survives after seven days, she can be alive. But she might not wake up."

Marvin sighed and said, "I just ran into Yvette. She fainted."

"You don’t have to tell me about her," Lance said indifferently.

"Are you really going to leave her? What about Isabel?

"You don’t care about Isabel either?" Marvin asked as he looked at Lance’s handsome and ruthless face.
