Secretary's Secret Lover -
Chapter 397 Solve It With Money
Chapter 397: Chapter 397 Solve It With Money
Yvette narrowed her eyes and stopped walking. "What secret?"
Hoffman limped up and said straightforwardly, "If you give me money, I will tell you."
"Forget it. I’m not interested."
Yvette turned around and was about to get into the car.
Hoffman panicked and shouted, "It’s about how you got to my family. Don’t you want to know?"
Yvette paused.
She was told that she was lost when she was 6 years old. Her mother cried sadly every day and couldn’t eat or sleep.
Then, one day, her mother disappeared after leaving a note to her father. Her mother wanted to find her.
For so many years, even if there was no news, her father never gave up searching.
Yvette had always thought that she had lost her way back then and was picked up by Phoebe.
But judging from Hoffman’s tone, Yvette began to doubt it.
Yvette lifted her eyelashes and looked at Hoffman. "Hoffman, are you trying to lie to me?"
Hoffman was very dissatisfied with Yvette’s disrespect, but he could only endure it because he wanted money from Yvette.
"I am not lying to you. I can promise."
Hoffman was a gambler. Could Yvette believe him?
Yvette said lightly, "Then tell me about it."
How could Hoffman say that without benefits? He extended his hand and said, "Give me the money first, or I won’t say it."
"How much do you want?"
Hoffman originally used hands to show the number. But he was afraid that Yvette would misunderstand, so he said, "8 million dollars."
"Then keep this secret to yourself." Yvette frowned.
It was not that she was not curious about how she got to the Dudley family, but she knew Hoffman too well.
If she agreed to give that money, Hoffman would only feel that the money came so easily and then ask for more.
This was Hoffman’s style of doing things.
Hoffman’s face darkened as he cried out, "Well... Isn’t it just 8 million dollars?"
He sized up Stephen, who was beside Yvette, and then he asked, "Another man? I didn’t expect you to be so capable of changing men. One man after another..."
Yvette didn’t want to listen to Hoffman’s nonsense and coldly said, "Shut up."
Hoffman subconsciously felt that Yvette didn’t want the current man to know about the men she used to date.
Hoffman smiled evilly, "If you want me to shut up, give me money. Otherwise, I will tell him about how you used to be a lover of big shots. You won’t be able to get anything..."
In Hoffman’s eyes, Yvette relied on her beauty to get what she had.
Hoffman thought that with Yvette’s status, those rich big shots would at most play with her rather than marry her.
Yvette looked at Hoffman with a cold gaze. "Stop. Hurry up and leave."
"Look at the man next to you. He should be able to afford this bit of money. If he can’t afford it, then you should break up with him quickly. You’re young and beautiful now, so you’d better sell your beauty to rich guys."
Hoffman narrowed his eyes. He felt that the men Yvette found were all young and handsome.
But what was the use of being handsome? Hoffman thought that the young guys couldn’t bear to spend money.
Hoffman sounded very experienced. "Don’t always think about finding good-looking men, who aren’t willing to spend money on you. Find the older ones. They know how to cherish you..."
Before he finished speaking, Yvette picked up a stone and threw it at his mouth.
The sound was loud.
Hoffman’s mouth was smashed, and it was dripping with blood. Hoffman looked like a homeless man, and the bloody mouth made him look even more frightening.
He covered his mouth and wailed.
It hurt so much.
Just now, there was a black shadow. Hoffman didn’t see what was smashing over.
"Little slut, are you fucking crazy? What did you use to hit me?"
Stephen saw that Hoffman was agitated. He immediately protected Yvette behind him and watched Hoffman’s every move vigilantly.
Yvette raised her head. "Did the stone hit you? I thought it was a dog that kept on barking. It sounded noisy..."
Hoffman was even angrier when he heard this.
He was not stupid...
He knew that Yvette was scolding him.
Since that was the case, he wouldn’t be polite anymore.
Hoffman rubbed his cracked lips and looked at Stephen.
And he said fiercely, "Do you know how many men this bitch has? She has always been a mistress. She only wants you if you have money. If you don’t have money, she will kick you..."
Hoffman was so vicious to say such things.
Yvette couldn’t bear it anymore and shouted, "Hoffman, if you make a rumor again, I will call the police."
"When did I make a rumor? In the past, there was an extraordinary man who helped you in the hospital. Also, you kissed a man in the car before. I remember everything I saw.
"Don’t tell me that those men will marry a woman with no status like you..."
Hoffman had just sneaked in and didn’t watch the live broadcast anymore.
Otherwise, he would never say such things.
He spat a mouthful of blood on the ground and scolded Yvette, "I doubt your taste in men. Every one of them was worse than the last. That man gave me 800 thousand dollars for you. But this one doesn’t want to pay a single cent..."
Yvette caught the main point and looked at Hoffman. "Who gave you 800 thousand dollars?"
Only then did Hoffman realize that he had told his secret. But to provoke the man in front of him, he didn’t want to hide it anymore.
"It’s the man who used to kiss you. He works for the Wolseley Group. At that time, I followed him to his company and said how much my family had spent on you. I told him about how heartless you were. He gave me 800 thousand dollars without saying anything and told me not to harass you."
Hoffman looked at Stephen and provoked, "Young man, you don’t look like you’re poor. How can you expect to attract a woman without spending any money?"
Stephen’s face was livid. His fingers clenched into fists, and he said coldly, "Don’t slander Yvette. She and I are just friends."
"Friends? Come on. Answer me one question. Do you want to sleep with her?"
Hoffman was very confident in Yvette’s appearance.
Yvette had always been very beautiful since she was a child. Her every move had the temperament of a rich young lady.
Hoffman’s words caused Stephen’s face to darken.
"Stop talking nonsense," Stephen, who was a cultured and refined man, finally shouted angrily.
Yvette was still shocked by what Hoffman had just said.
She knew that Hoffman was talking about Lance.
But she never expected that Lance would privately give Hoffman 800 thousand dollars just to prevent Hoffman from disturbing her.
No wonder after that incident in the hospital, Hoffman never came to harass them again.
Yvette originally thought that Hoffman had found his conscience and turned over a new leaf.
Now it seemed that it was purely money that sealed Hoffman’s mouth...
Hoffman was still talking nonsense to Stephen.
Yvette frowned and didn’t want to tangle with the bastard anymore. She said, "Stephen, let’s go."
After seeing that the two were about to leave, Hoffman, who had not received a single cent, became anxious.
He shouted, "Don’t you want to listen to that secret anymore? You weren’t just picked up by chance back then. Do you really not want to know?"
"I don’t want to," Yvette said.
Then, she turned around and got into the car.
If she said she wanted to know, Hoffman would not say it.
So she could only do the opposite.
Yvette knew Hoffman, but Hoffman also knew her.
"Little thing, you lied to me, right? I don’t fucking believe that you aren’t curious."
Yvette was smart when she was young, so Hoffman had never gotten any benefits from her.
Hoffman said complacently, "I’ve already told you. 8 million dollars. Otherwise, don’t even think about it..."
Before he could finish speaking, Hoffman saw the car window automatically rise. It blocked all of his words out of the window.
The van started moving... And then it left.
