Chapter 366 To Feed Lance
Chapter 366: Chapter 366 To Feed Lance
Yvette asked in a trembling voice, "What happened?"
Frankie said anxiously, "You haven’t been here for the past three days. Mr. Wolseley has no appetite. He just had soups instead of full meals. I don’t know what happened today, but he didn’t even drink the soup. Then, he suddenly vomited blood. The doctor said that he had acute stomach bleeding...
"Can you come over right now?"
After hanging up, Yvette had lots of thoughts and cold hands and feet.
Why was Lance so stubborn?
Since she didn’t go to him, he refused to eat.
He was an adult, wasn’t he? Didn’t he feel hungry?
He was a patient. How could he torment himself like this?
Yvette couldn’t help blaming herself. Anyway, she had promised to take care of him.
She felt puzzled and was in a panic. She instructed the driver, "Go to the hospital."
Soon, the car stopped in front of the hospital.
Frankie waited for Yvette at the door of the ward and handed her a thermos bottle.
He said, "Ms. Thiel, Mr. Wolseley has just finished infusion, and he is resting. He can eat some cereal when he wakes up. I’m sorry to trouble you, but please make him eat the cereal."
Yvette nodded and pushed the door open. She stopped by the bed and gently put the bottle down.
Lance closed his eyes, and it was unknown if he fell asleep.
His handsome face was ashen. It seemed that his complexion was even worse than three days ago.
Yvette felt bitter.
He looked weaker and weaker.
Yvette sat down on the chair by the bed and looked at the man who was feeble for a while. She put her finger under his nose.
He breathed evenly.
Yvette finally breathed a sigh of relief.
Just as she was about to retract her hand, she was grabbed by Lance.
Lance opened his eyes slightly and said in a low voice, "I’m not dead yet."
Yvette didn’t know how to reply.
It instantly became awkward in the ward.
Yvette withdrew her hand and lowered her head slightly. She opened the bottle and said, "Since you’re awake, eat some cereal."
After she filled a bowl of cereal, she heightened the bed and put a small table on it. Then, she placed the cereal in front of Lance.
After that, she was lost for words. She sat by the bed in a daze.
Soon, five minutes passed.
Lance didn’t eat the cereal at all. Besides, he took out a financial magazine and read it attentively.
It was deadly silent in the ward.
Yvette used not to care about whether he ate or not.
However, she changed her attitude at the thought of how Lance had protected her and introduced customers to her without telling her.
Yvette could no longer ignore him.
She thought of Frankie’s words and reminded Lance, "You had stomach bleeding. Hurry up and have the cereal."
Lance maintained silence and fixed his eyes on the magazine in his hand.
Yvette was a bit helpless.
She could tell that Lance was annoyed.
Since the cereal was about to cool down, she had to explain.
She said in a soft voice, "I’m sorry for not picking up your call today. I was busy with work."
Lance finally turned to look at her and said coldly, "You have been busy for three days, right?"
Yvette hesitated when she met the man’s gaze. "That’s right..."
Lance interrupted her, "Then, I’ll leave you to work."
His pretty face turned gloomy, and his tone was tinged with irony.
Yvette could no longer stay here. She wondered if she should leave immediately.
Just then, Lance’s cold voice was heard, "Anyway, I won’t die. I just spat out blood."
Hearing this, Yvette changed her mind and sat back down on the chair.
Only then did Lance’s upset expression soften.
He snorted in his heart. He thought, how should I treat Yvette?
She has said so many harsh words to me. However, I can’t do anything to make her unhappy. Otherwise, she will leave immediately.
Moreover, it doesn’t look like she is guilty of not coming to visit me over the past two days.
As Lance thought, he was so angry that his stomach hurt again.
Yvette noticed that his face turned pale and regretted annoying him. After all, he was a patient.
She convinced herself to go easy on him. He was in a bad mood. No matter what he said, he didn’t mean to hurt her.
Yvette asked him in a gentle voice, "How about I feed you?"
Lance did not reply. Yvette said in confusion, "Then what do you want me to do?"
"I didn’t refuse you, okay? I want you to feed me," Lance suddenly said.
"Then why didn’t you tell me?"
Yvette picked up the cereal and began to feed Lance.
Lance ate with a straight face. He snorted, "I’m a man. I never say no."
He seemed to refer to something else.
Yvette read between his lines.
"How shameless you are!" she said in an embarrassed voice.
Lance raised his eyebrows and smiled. "Why do you scold me? Am I wrong?
"Do you want to be intimate with me again? You never dared to say that I couldn’t..."
Yvette found it unbelievable.
In an instant, her face became extremely red.
Did Lance know what he was talking about?
Lance continued, "If you dared to underestimate me, you would not be able to get out of bed for a week."
Yvette was dumbfounded.
She was angry as well as ashamed. She glared at Lance, "Stop! If you dare to say those words again, I’ll leave..."
As she spoke, she was about to put the bowl down.
Lance quickly grabbed her wrist and said, "I’m hungry."
Then, he held Yvette’s wrist and made her feed him.
The action seemed ordinary, but it was full of intimacy.
Yvette withdrew her hand uneasily and said, "It’s not convenient like this."
"Then, let’s do as you please."
Lance’s mood seemed to be better.
Her voice was completely different from before. It was slightly hoarse and magnetic.
Yvette’s face blushed. Soon, the bowl became empty, and she put it down.
"Your stomach hasn’t recovered yet. You’d better not eat too much."
Was she concerned about him?
As Lance wondered, he was no longer upset.
He curled his lips and said, "For the sake of your concern for me, I forgive you."
Yvette was speechless.
She had yet to say that it was Frankie who had given her the cereal.
Lance seemed to have eased himself up.
Yvette refuted, "You are mistaken. Frankie told me that you haven’t eaten well for three days."
Lance said with a smile, "Even though Frankie asked you to look after me, you can reject him, just like how you did before. If you didn’t care about me, you would have excuses to not come over. Anyway, I just vomited blood."
He was good-looking and attractive. When staring at him, one was easily fascinated by him.
Given his mood was extremely good, he wore a delighted face and became even more charming.
With his brows raised, he responded by asking, "Are you going to insist that you don’t care about me?"
What Lance said was reasonable and logical.
Yvette was unable to refute him.
She found that his words made sense.
Did she truly begin to care about Lance?
