Jiu Middle School’s academic workload was heavy, and there was a test every two weeks. If she didn’t work hard, she feared her first exam results after transferring wouldn’t look too good.

The next day, Shen Weiyi was woken up by an alarm clock.

Seeing her yawning as she came downstairs, Shen Juanzhi said, "Did you stay up too late yesterday? I’ll ask Secretary Jiang to tell the school, and you won’t have to attend evening self-study anymore." As he spoke, he pulled out his phone, about to call Secretary Jiang.

"No need; I can adapt," Shen Weiyi shook her head.

Shen Juanzhi, seeing her insistence, put down his phone: "Have breakfast first; I’ll give you a lift after you’re done."

"No need."

Thinking of the car he had driven to pick her up the night before, Shen Weiyi firmly refused: "I checked last night. There’s a bus from our neighborhood to the school; it’s very convenient. I’ll just take the bus to school from now on."

She didn’t want to become the center of gossip just after transferring schools.

Shen Juanzhi glanced at her and, seeing she had made up her mind, didn’t say more: "Alright then, call me or Secretary Jiang if you need anything."

"I know." Ever since she was little, Shen Juanzhi had always respected her decisions. As long as it was something she wanted to do, the other party rarely said no.

Shen Weiyi picked up the milk from the table, poured a glass for Shen Juanzhi, and then took away the coffee in front of him, saying, "Drink less coffee in the morning, drink more milk; it’s healthier."

"Okay, I’ll listen to you." The business tycoon, who was influential outside, had to listen to his daughter at home.

After finishing breakfast, Shen Weiyi put on her backpack and headed out the door.

As she left the neighborhood and neared the bus stop, a bicycle sped past her, followed by the sound of a sharp brake. The rider turned to look at her.

"Why are you here? Are you on your own?" Jiang Zhiyi asked in surprise.

Shen Weiyi: "Otherwise?" She wasn’t a little kid who needed an adult to accompany her to school.

Jiang Zhiyi frowned: "Where is your driver? Why didn’t he bring you today?"

"Can’t I take the bus to school on my own?" Shen Weiyi didn’t want to talk to him, her face set as she walked ahead.

Jiang Zhiyi rode his bike alongside her, "You’re going to take the bus to school? Is the young lady preparing to experience the common folk’s life?" In the past, she had always been personally chauffeured to school.

"What’s it to you?"

Jiang Zhiyi suddenly sped up, then braked harshly, propping his long leg on the ground and blocking her path with his bike: "Shen Weiyi, hop on; I’ll take you to school."

"No need." She wasn’t interested in a seat someone else had used. Then urged him, "Hurry up and go, don’t follow me."

Jiang Zhiyi: "Who said I’m following you? Can’t I also want to take the bus to school today?"

"Whatever you want!" Shen Weiyi couldn’t be bothered with him.

Just then, the bus arrived, and Shen Weiyi immediately got on.

"Hey, wait for me!" Jiang Zhiyi hastily locked his bike and jumped onto the bus before the doors closed.

On the other hand, Xu Chenxi was sitting in the back seat of a car. Mr. Jiang, not feeling comfortable with her going to school on her own, insisted on driving her. When they passed the bus stop, he caught a glimpse of a familiar figure by chance.

Xu Chenxi couldn’t help but be stunned.

Didn’t he go to school on his bike? Why had he switched to the bus now?
