Chapter 169: Chapter 169 Unworthy of Even a Name
Sheng Ting looked at the WeChat chat on his phone and thought again about the girl’s contact alias.
In that girl’s eyes, he was merely Little Bao’s older brother.
Not even worthy of a name.
Shen Weiyi didn’t know that a casual alias had for the first time made someone who had always been surrounded by glory and had never faced defeat doubt their own appearance and abilities.
Just then, a senior exited the laboratory and, seeing him, greeted him, "Sheng, you’re back? Perfect timing, the teacher was just looking for you."
"Got it!" Sheng Ting put away his phone and entered the laboratory.
"Teacher, were you looking for me?"
Inside the laboratory, Zhuang Guanglun had been intently examining a set of experimental data but looked up at the sound, "You’ve come at the right time, there seems to be a problem with this data, come help me take a look."
"Alright!" Sheng Ting put on his lab coat and walked over.
After looking at the data the professor pointed out, he said, "This data is from before. I’ve already organized the new data and uploaded it to the database, probably just forgot to update it." Saying so, he clicked the mouse and exported a new set of data from the database.
Seeing the experimental data running correctly, Zhuang Guanglun breathed a sigh of relief, "Very good. The experimental schedule is a bit tight this time. You all have to work a little harder in this period to get all the experimental data measured as soon as possible." Then pointing at Sheng Ting, he said, "Especially you, with the results of these experiments, the matter of you applying for early admission to a graduate program is practically settled. You better take this seriously. I heard you went to do some artificial rain simulation yesterday, what a farce."
"I’m sorry, teacher. I know I was wrong. It won’t happen again," Sheng Ting apologized with a good attitude.
Professor Zhuang also knew this guy had a good heart and was generally reliable. If he had decided to do it, there must be a reason.
Never mind, as long as it wasn’t some grave mistake against principle.
Zhuang Guanglun unconsciously softened his tone, "Liking to do experiments is good, but safety is also important, and especially in our experiments, we must be rigorous. We can’t just casually misuse the lab’s name. If those above start asking questions, even I won’t be able to protect you."
"I’ll remember that!"
"Alright, off you go!"
To be honest, in his many years of teaching and countless students he had seen, he’d rarely encountered someone as sensitive to experimental data as him—able to remember all experiments and data almost at a glance, as if born for the lab.
This was a treasure he had dug up with some difficulty; he was afraid of scaring him off with a scolding.
Over the past year, the guy hardly caused him any worry, and he didn’t know what had gotten into him this time—sneaking off under the lab’s name to simulate some artificial rain experiment.
This was completely outside of the lab’s projects, so he really didn’t know what he was up to.
And cases like today, leaving the experiment halfway through, had never happened before.
All in all, this kid had been acting oddly lately.
There was still an hour left until military training ended, and Shen Weiyi didn’t plan to go back to the field. Just right, she hadn’t finished the book she borrowed from Sheng Ting. Shen Weiyi decided to stay in the dorm to read.
The dorm was quiet with just her in it—perfect for studying.
Shen Weiyi quickly immersed herself in the world of books and formulas until a knocking interrupted her.
A look at the time revealed that more than an hour had passed.
