Chapter 110: Chapter 110 She Thought, He Liked Her Too

Shen Weiyi had learned a bit of cooking from the housekeeper, but it was mostly simple home cooking; she was utterly clueless when it came to seafood.

Although she wanted to help, she didn’t really know how to handle shellfish.

In the end, Sheng Ting chased her out of the kitchen.

With nothing else to do, Shen Weiyi started to wander around the house.

It was a two-story western-style building, not very large, but its architecture and layout were quite distinctive, clearly indicating that the owner was someone who appreciated a refined lifestyle.

Shen Weiyi didn’t dare to intrude into the rooms with closed doors, but when she passed by a study with a half-open door, she went in.

The study contained a large collection of books, a whole wall filled with bookshelves, with different types of books on every shelf.

It was evident that the owner of the study was a book lover.

Shen Weiyi casually pulled out a book from the shelf and noticed that it had annotations, the handwriting both elegant and insightful. Finding it interesting, she simply sat down by the window and began to read.

Before she knew it, the sky had darkened.

It wasn’t until she heard a knock on the door that Shen Weiyi suddenly looked up and saw Sheng Ting standing in the doorway, saying, "Dinner’s ready!"

"Coming!" Shen Weiyi replied, placing the book back with a sense of reluctance.

Sheng Ting glanced at where she put the book but didn’t say anything.

As the two returned to the dining room, they saw a table full of seafood dishes. Though each dish was small in portion, there were many varieties.

"Did you make all of this?" Shen Weiyi asked in surprise.

She had seen him selecting the ingredients, but she hadn’t realized there were so many different kinds.

And he had prepared this entire table of dishes by himself.

Shen Weiyi couldn’t help but blush, feeling guilty for saying she would help but then not being of any assistance.

"Let’s eat!" Sheng Ting invited her, "Many of these I’m making for the first time, so I’m not sure if they’ll taste good."

Shen Weiyi first tried the fish, which was simply steamed, but he had done an excellent job with the broth and timing—the fish was tender without falling apart, and it tasted delicious.

"Mmm, it’s really good!" she exclaimed after only one bite, her eyes lighting up.

"If you like it, eat more!" Sheng Ting said.

As he watched her enjoy the food, a smile couldn’t help but spread across his face. Then, he pushed a large lobster towards her, saying, "Try this too."

The lobster was served with its meat separated from the shell, topped with a layer of cheese that had been grilled to a golden-brown, emitting an enticing aroma.

Shen Weiyi took a bite and found it so delicious she was lost for words.

Sheng Ting had not only bought fish and prawns but had also brought home two large blue crabs.

While she was occupied with eating the prawn, Sheng Ting cracked open the two crabs, picked out all the meat, and pushed it towards Shen Weiyi, "Try this next!"

"Aren’t you having any?" Shen Weiyi asked, looking at him puzzledly. He had only bought two. She had assumed they would each have one.

But she realized he had given all the meat from both crabs to her.

Even with the large lobster before, the whole thing was placed in front of her.

Sheng Ting said, "I don’t really like seafood. These are all prepared for you, but crabs are cold in nature, eating two is just right for you, eating more might upset your stomach."

Shen Weiyi paused, not knowing he didn’t like seafood.

She had thought he liked it too since he went to Seafood Street with them last night.

Afterward, she only remembered him peeling shrimp for her and hadn’t noticed whether he had eaten anything...
