Wei Wei asked."There's only one thing that can give us the answer," Captain Ouyang replied with a smile."What is it?" Wei Wei inquired."The Origin Book!"Wei Wei was taken aback: "We have that here?"Captain Ouyang explained: "The difference between inside and outside the Spiritual Barrier is significant. Inside, it's impossible to have such large-scale sacrifices, and there are fewer areas beyond our jurisdiction. But here, we have things that are considered forbidden inside.""Like what?" Wei Wei asked."For instance, the Origin Books, which are viewed as taboo inside. They're available here, outside the city, at the demon trading market."Captain Ouyang revealed a cold smile: "You can buy one for thirty yuan. If you're interested, you can even buy it in bulk."Wei Wei was amazed and unexpectedly discovered: "In some strange places, Captain seems to have a competitive spirit."Every demon was once a god. Their powers, rituals, and how to please them after inheriting their powers were all recorded by followers and Transcendents, forming a kind of "bible" for each system. In the Life System, it was called the "Origin Book." Wei Wei also knew that the Knowledge Demon System had the "Book of True Knowledge," the War Demon System had the "Hymn of Holy War," the Order Demon System had the "Sacred Canon of Principles," and the Death Demon System had the "Book of the Dead."These "bibles" might contain descriptions of sacrifices that could help them understand the purpose behind the rituals. However, Wei Wei knew that all such texts were forbidden within the Spiritual Barrier. Not only would wild Transcendents be tempted by the power described in them, violating rules, but even Transcendent law enforcement officers might be lured into corruption.So, even though he knew about the Origin Book, he hadn't thought of using it to solve his doubts until Captain Ouyang mentioned it. And now, he was surprised to learn that it could be bought in bulk...As they sped along, the buildings around them gradually thinned out. Although Scrap Iron City was nominally part of the Spiritual Barrier, the distinction between it and the outside Wastelands was clear. However, the actual separation was just a barbed wire fence, which was often damaged by smugglers and those sneaking in or out. Captain Ouyang led Wei Wei through a large hole in the fence, familiar with the route.Wei Wei was amazed: "Captain, do we have to leave the city through these smugglers' hidden paths?""No need," Captain Ouyang replied. "We can just inform the patrol team.""Why are we taking this route then?""It's more convenient. This was the demon trading market."Is this really an illegal trading ground formed by wild Transcendents, demon followers, and smugglers?" Wei Wei wondered. "A place where everyone with demonic powers does illegal business without fear of being reported?"Wei Wei was getting excited."Pay the parking fee," Captain Ouyang said, snapping Wei Wei back to reality.As Wei Wei looked around, he saw Captain Ouyang had already stopped the motorcycle among a clutter of cars. A small figure sat on a stool in the shadows, nodding towards them."Do we really need to pay for parking here?" Wei Wei asked, surprised."Of course," Captain Ouyang replied. "This place isn't as safe as the city. If you don't find someone to watch your vehicle, it might be gone when you return. And if the whole car is stolen, you can just chase after it and get it back. But if they steal parts like the wheels, it's a hassle to replace them."Wei Wei suddenly felt that Captain Ouyang was very experienced. He obediently went to pay the fifty yuan parking fee to the figure in the shadows without questioning it.Captain Ouyang, who had been watching with some guilt, felt a surge of appreciation for Wei Wei when he saw him pay without hesitation."Cough, this is just an advance," Captain Ouyang said as Wei Wei returned.
