Scarlet Descent
Ch. 66 - The Black Collar

Wang Mo furrowed his brows, feeling a deep sense of unease.

However, he quickly adjusted his mood, hailed a taxi, and headed toward his destination.

Even though he owned a bar himself and would soon gain the freedom to leave Scrap Iron City and establish himself elsewhere after completing this task, he decided to visit another bar tonight out of respect for his regular patrons.

As for the man he had encountered at the bar entrance earlier, Wang Mo didn’t dwell on it too much.

Perhaps it was just a trick of the mind?

Even if it wasn’t, he had lived as an ordinary person for so many years—no one could interfere with him now. Besides, he had been preparing for this day for a long time.

Taking a taxi to a newly opened bar, Wang Mo entered and was greeted by the sight of various beautiful women. His mood instantly lifted. Yet, instead of acting immediately, he ordered a cocktail and sat at the bar, slowly scanning the room for his prey.

Occasionally, admiring glances were cast in his direction, but Wang Mo ignored them.

Among these admirers were women who fit his preferences, but Wang Mo adhered to a different set of criteria when selecting his targets.

What a pity...

The girl on the pink electric scooter he had encountered earlier at the bar entrance was truly exceptional.

If he could offer her up, "that one" would undoubtedly be pleased.

Perhaps there would still be an opportunity later? After all, before leaving, she had stared at him for quite some time and even taken his business card. Who knows—she might contact him. If she did so before he was fully prepared, she could be offered up as a sacrifice. If it happened afterward... well, maybe he could keep her for himself?

Indulging in these delightful fantasies, Wang Mo’s spirits soared, reigniting his enthusiasm for tonight’s hunt.

He carefully searched for his ideal target amidst the colorful lights of the bar.

Too plain? No. Too old? No. Overly made-up? Also no.

Neither promiscuity nor excessive desire made someone suitable as an offering.

It was amusing in its own way: apart from those rare individuals "blessed" from birth by supernatural forces, most people only attracted attention from higher powers due to their intense desires in certain aspects of life—desires strong enough to draw notice from the unknown. Yet once someone acquired such "gifts," they paradoxically preferred pure and untainted sacrifices when making offerings.

Patiently and elegantly, Wang Mo continued his search without noticing that someone was sitting not far behind him in the shadows—a figure completely obscured except for one hand slowly reaching out to pick up a potato chip. In the darkness came a faint "crunch."

Wang Mo found his target.

She was sitting by the window with an innocent look in her eyes.

She had ordered a non-alcoholic Long Island iced tea and was curiously yet timidly observing the lively crowd around her.

"Hello..."

Wang Mo raised his glass gracefully as he approached her with a smile and greeted her softly.

"Ah..."

The girl froze momentarily—clearly inexperienced in such situations—and appeared flustered.

"May I sit here?"

Wang Mo’s voice carried a magnetic charm perfectly suited to the quiet bar atmosphere.

"Well... I don’t think that’s appropriate..."

The girl hesitated nervously and instinctively wanted to refuse.

At that moment, Wang Mo casually raised his hand and gently placed it on her head in a seemingly affectionate gesture. He even gave her hair a light ruffle. The girl initially recoiled as if to dodge but suddenly felt that this action seemed natural—especially after his hand touched her head—something strange began to stir within her.

"Sure..."

She smiled up at Wang Mo, feeling inexplicably drawn to him.

Wang Mo sat down with a smile and asked: "Are you alone?"

"Ah... no, I’m waiting for a friend."

"In that case... could you ask your friend not to come?"

"..."

As Wang Mo said this, he lightly held her hand and traced his finger across the back of it. The girl’s pupils seemed to dilate slightly—a sign of extreme pleasure. After a brief moment of confusion, she suddenly replied cheerfully: "Sure! I didn’t really want her to show up tonight anyway."

Wang Mo smiled inwardly: Ah... those who prioritize love over friendship—you deserve to be marked by Love itself.

In the distant corner shrouded in shadows, another person smiled too—their eyes gleaming brightly.

When Wang Mo extended his hand earlier,he had caught sight of the rose tattoo on his wrist—it really did... look familiar! Wang Mo chatted happily with the girl; within two minutes, they were conversing like old friends who had known each other forever. A strange feeling began to grow within her—a mixture of attraction and trust—that gradually eroded any lingering resistance she might have had.

Under Wang Mo’s gentle gaze and the influence of the cocktail he ordered for her (which contained alcohol despite its appearance), whatever resistance remained melted away like snow under summer sunlight.

The girl was not good with alcohol; soon enough, her eyes became misty with intoxication.

Wang Mo felt immense satisfaction watching her shy yet nervous glances toward him—her lack of rejection when he moved his chair closer—and finally when she rested her head against his shoulder voluntarily.

Eventually, under Wang Mo’s warm smile and soothing voice, she agreed without hesitation when he suggested leaving together—even taking it upon herself to settle their bill before calling a taxi.

As they rode together in the cab and Wang Mo saw how completely captivated she was by him—her eyes reflecting nothing but his image—his sense of triumph reached its peak.

But just as he basked in this euphoria while gazing into her eyes... something stirred within him again—a sudden jolt of unease.

He turned sharply toward the car window only to glimpse what appeared to be a man standing near an electric pole outside smoking casually—but upon closer inspection... there was nothing there anymore. "Hoo..."

"Maybe I’ve just been playing this ordinary role for too long—it’s making me paranoid," Wang Mo muttered under his breath before turning back toward the girl beside him whose delicate features instantly lifted his spirits again.

He playfully pinched her nose lightly before leading her back home where everything had already been meticulously prepared: candles flickered softly amidst scattered rose petals; red wine sat ready alongside heart-shaped cherry cakes; deep-colored silk drapes adorned every corner; intoxicating fragrances filled every breath—all creating an atmosphere both mysterious yet irresistibly alluring...

Standing amidst this carefully crafted scene surrounded by candles’ glow stood Wang Mo himself—reaching out toward her like some enigmatic deity cloaked in elegance.

Summoning all courage born from chasing ultimate happiness itself—the girl stepped forward into that circle of light...

"Do you love me?"

Wang Mo asked softly with magnetic charm laced through every syllable as he gazed deeply into her eyes.

The girl closed hers briefly before nodding gently in response.

A cold smile crept across Wang Mo’s face as he whispered: "Then are you willing... to offer yourself up to me?"

Blushing deeply yet utterly entranced—the girl nodded shyly once more.

"Say it out loud!"

"I... I’m willing!"

"Good..."

In that moment came an icy sensation around her neck accompanied by faint metallic clicks echoing ominously through candlelit silence...

She opened wide startled eyes only now realizing what had happened—catching sight through nearby mirrors reflecting back at herself wearing a black leather collar studded with iron spikes around her neck...

Before she could comprehend further horror unfolding ahead—the room darkened further revealing behind drawn curtains... six naked girls kneeling silently inside glass walls—all bound identically wearing similar collars...

"Ah..."

The girl was terrified by the horrifying scene before her. She wanted to scream but found she couldn’t make any sound at all.

Not only her voice, but even her body seemed to have lost all control.

"Go on in. There’s a place for you in there."

Wang Mo smiled, his expression gradually turning cold and sinister, like a triumphant hunter reveling in his success.

This batch of sacrifices was almost complete...

His mood soared to its peak as he prepared to lead the girl toward her final destination.

But just as he turned back around, a sudden and intense sense of foreboding struck him.

He whipped his head around sharply and saw, outside the floor-to-ceiling window, someone pressed tightly against the glass. The person's face was filled with an expression of pure joy.

Far happier than him.
