Chapter 402 - Chapter 402 Chapter 389 Core Consciousness Strategy
Chapter 402: Chapter 389: Core Consciousness Strategy (Three-in-One Mega Chapter!) Chapter 402: Chapter 389: Core Consciousness Strategy (Three-in-One Mega Chapter!) When the light of the teleportation array flashed, Zhao Mingwei glanced at the small map in the upper right corner of his vision, and the name of the map had changed to “Black Tide Island Nightmare Outskirts.”
Before Zhao Mingwei’s eyes, the scenery had shifted from the orderly architecture style of the breeder’s main city to a twisted space.
This space was backed by a dark purple and pitch-black night sky; the gloomy tones flowed around in the background as if someone had knocked over a pile of glowing paint.
However, Zhao Mingwei and the Beheading Squad behind him found themselves on a street with a distinct seventeenth-century Victorian flavor…that street was just as twisted, with buildings piling up in irregular shapes, and some of the ground tiles that were supposed to make up the street floated in mid-air.
But this was just a small portion of the map of the nightmare outskirts. When Zhao Mingwei looked around… fragments of cities from various civilizations and times floated in the sky like small asteroids.
The gravity in this consciousness world was exceptionally chaotic, but what was more troublesome was the number of monsters in the consciousness space.
“Are there too many monsters?” Juan Canyun looked at the street before them, where a swath of human-like figures shrouded in dark robes moved about.
These figures were so numerous that the street resembled a bustling market, that is, if one could ignore the black tendrils made of a dark liquid under their robes.
Rather than calling these entities human, it would be more accurate to say they were…slugs.
“Is this an unmatched game?” Black Pot Cooking Meat cast several scouting techniques on those monsters, and their statistics soon appeared before him.
“Negative Shadow Construct, consciousness entity, level 70, health points 5000/5000”
With only five thousand health points, Black Pot Cooking Meat could easily kill them with a headshot, but the problem was…there were far too many monsters! Even if he unleashed an Awakening on the street, he wouldn’t be able to kill them all.
If it were just the monsters on the street, that would be one thing, but the real problem was the sky…
Above the street, a swarm of nightmare creatures fluttered their wings and hovered, numerous enough to remind Black Pot Cooking Meat of locusts or the like.
If he attracted the enmity of even one monster, thousands upon thousands of monsters on the street would swarm toward him.
“Black Tide Island hasn’t spotted us yet.”
Wenna, who had come to this space, was feeling chills all over and hugged her arms tightly as negative thoughts began to erode her body since she had entered this space.
“Captain Zhao, what should we do? Shall we blow up this little map first?”
Lu Wei fiddled with a delicate grenade like twirling a keychain, and Jiang Qiao was worried she might accidentally throw the grenade while unscrewing its safety pin.
“The risk is too great… Lady Calamity… where is the Island Master of Black Tide Island?” Zhao Mingwei scrutinized this bizarre world, trying to find a breakthrough within the dense monster colonies.
“There are three Island Masters on Black Tide Island, one at the end of the Sea of Consciousness on the west side, another in the core area on the east side, and the last one is the one you kidnapped. Its presence is so weak that I can’t sense it at all,” said Lady Calamity.
“Where is Denghis Xisi?” Zhao Mingwei knew that the primary target of this beheading mission was the shadowy figure orchestrating everything behind the scenes.
“There, quite a distance away… Even without those pesky bats in the sky, it would take half a day to fly there! But the problem is… what you should be considering now is how to take down those flying creatures,” said Lady Calamity.
Lady Calamity had an aversion to flying creatures, largely because most of those that attacked her pirate ship were of the flying sort, such as dragons, gargoyles, and giant bat-like monsters.
Now, in the core consciousness space of Black Tide Island, there were all sorts of monsters, especially the multitude in the sky that made Lady Calamity’s scalp tingle.
“Let’s just charge through!” Lu Wei was still eager to give it a try.
“Lure the monsters out one by one and kill them?”
Juan Canyun proposed a safer plan, which was also a common strategy used in clearing new instances, but the problem was…
“No place to draw them to,” Zhao Mingwei looked at the aimlessly wandering shadows on the street once more.
Some of the team members with extensive experience in running instances might already be cursing the heartless game designers for this instance setup.
There was simply no buffer space between the positions of the monsters; if one was agitated, and there was a hate chain reaction, the worst-case scenario would be drawing all the monsters on the map to them.
Zhao Mingwei dared not take that risk, but even though he didn’t want to, he had to!
Because the monsters on this street had already noticed them, those deformities shrouded in black robes turned their heads uniformly towards the Beheading Squad at the end of the street.
Black Pot Cooking Meat watched as those black-robed deformities let out piercing shrieks and, like a tide, instantly surged towards them.
Not just the black-robed deformities on the street, but also the giant bats circling in the sky, and the pitch-black flying dragons were attracted by the scream, diving down at them.
In less than a second, the Beheading Squad was completely surrounded by monsters coming from all directions, whether on the ground, walls, or continuously emerging from beneath the earth in various shapes and forms.
“Screw it!”
Black Pot Cooking Meat directly empowered himself with the Death Revolver and took out his legendary Left Wheel Funeral, releasing the Wandering Gunman’s core skill, Spray and Pray.
The closest monsters were two hundred meters from the Beheading Squad, and within two seconds, Black Pot Cooking Meat’s spray had created a deathly domain, tearing in two any monsters that approached within a two-hundred-meter radius.
‘You have killed a Shadow Creature and earned seven points of battlefield merit.’
‘You have killed a Shadow Creature and earned eight points of battlefield merit.’
A series of notifications popped up in Black Pot Cooking Meat’s vision, but he was far from feeling elated!
“Are the game planners playing with us? Might as well call this instance ‘Zombie Siege’!”
After the spray ended, Black Pot Cooking Meat found that the number of monsters swarming towards them did not decrease but rather increased, sensing the thick malice from the game planners.
Based on the battlefield merit points he earned, his last Spray and Pray must have killed over five hundred monsters.
What’s it got to do with me? I didn’t design this damn map! Jiang Qiao was also very frustrated with the placement of these monsters!
The monsters surged out onto the street, packed as densely as if they cost nothing, and Jiang Qiao immediately dispatched Earth Spirits to create a temporary wall around the Beheading Squad.
However, that ten-thousand-health-point earth wall crumbled like paper under the tearing of the black-robed deformities’ tentacle spikes, along with Jiang Qiao’s Earth Spirits.
“I estimate no one in our squad can withstand more than three, at most four, of their attacks!” Jiang Qiao instantly assessed the monsters’ attack power.
“Captain, they spawn infinitely.”
Caramel sliced off the head of a stone gargoyle diving at them with his Moonlight Sword and released a swift Slash at the sky in an instant… An empty area appeared in the once densely populated sky, now clear of monsters.
But this area was quickly filled up by other monsters.
We must move now!
Zhao Mingwei began to search for a place that could be used… as a temporary safe spot, but there was none…
Any gap in the ruins of this city could give rise to a vast number of malformed monsters; Zhao Mingwei fired a Charged Thought Cannon at a building on the other side.
The Charged Thought Cannon devoured seven black-robed deformities before hitting a load-bearing column of the building, which collapsed instantaneously and, after crushing several monsters, caused even more… werewolves to surge out from within the building.
Other fragments of the city? Zhao Mingwei was considering where to run when…
“Over there! Direction 167, the creatures in that Dwarf City fragment just disappeared,” Jiang Qiao said, extending his hand toward the fragments of the city in the sky.
Jiang Qiao risked his wind spirit to gather this information, and suddenly all the monsters roaming around another city, much like a Dwarf City, vanished.
“I see it too,” Zhao Mingwei looked up in the direction Jiang Qiao pointed, but the city fragment floating in the sky was far away, only reachable by flying mounts.
“How do we get there?” Caramel asked.
“I think… I have a way.”
Wenna realized that hesitation at this moment would only lead to death.
So, she suddenly placed her hand on the ground, and a great amount of dark fog surged from the surface of the street into Wenna’s body.
“What’s she doing now?”
Qi Junzi had been keeping an eye on Wenna’s movements, but now there were so many enemies that Qi Junzi couldn’t spare the effort to intervene with Wenna’s actions.
“Establishing contact with the consciousness of the Black Tide Island… A path,” Wenna said, her voice tinged with pain.
Suddenly, the street’s surface cracked open and bricks floated into midair, forming a pathway that reached directly to the Dwarf City in the sky.
“It’s possible… now,” Wenna said, clutching her chest and speaking weakly.
“Is she a key NPC? Captain?”
“Let’s go!”
Zhao Mingwei didn’t hesitate and immediately picked up a weakened Wenna, who was half-kneeling on the ground, to ascend… this path made of suspended bricks.
“I can walk on my own,” Wenna tried to protest, but Zhao Mingwei’s Lion Roar overpowered her words.
The energy and sound waves of the Lion Roar tore apart the monsters in the sky that tried to approach them.
“I will cover our retreat.”
Jiang Qiao summoned the Elven King onto the street by releasing his awakening, and the distorted black-robed creatures all lunged for the Elven King.
As the Beheading Squad ascended the steps… the Elven King had just unleashed a few abilities before being engulfed and devoured by the tide-like swarm of creatures.
The Dwarf City in the sky was like a fortress, but this fortress had a crack, through which Jiang Qiao’s wind spirit confirmed that there were no monsters left inside the Dwarf City.
Zhao Mingwei led the squad directly into the gap in the fortress… As he entered the Dwarf Fortress, he turned to look back.
The pathway created by Wenna had started to collapse, and a member of the squad unfortunately missed a step and fell down.
“What a hassle! ”
Lu Wei also stopped in her tracks at this moment and threw a bomb toward the falling squad member.
“Hey, hey, hey, what are you doing!” Black Pot Cooking Meat was next to the falling member, reaching out to catch them when he saw Lu Wei’s bomb and froze.
“Heh, heh.”
As the bomb landed beside the squad member, Lu Wei pressed the detonation button.
The shockwave of the explosion affected the entire Beheading Squad, pushing those who had not yet entered the Dwarf City into it by the force of the blast.
“Cough cough… that’s not how you do a rocket jump.” Heijian Zhuorou choked on his own saliva.
“It’s not over yet!”
Zhao Mingwei reminded the members of the Beheading Squad that the locust-like monsters still hadn’t given up on them.
In the Dwarf City, fissures had cracked open, and within less than three seconds, several abominations that looked like a cross between flies and humans swarmed in!
Worse yet, more and more flying monsters were trying to flood into the city through the gaps.
“Electric Eel!”
The only magic scholar player in the team, the food-loving White Snake, summoned his alchemical machinery; an electric eel shot out of his hands, and the next second it clung to the two-meter-wide, one-meter-tall crack to form an electric net.
The monsters trying to break through the crack were reduced to ashes upon touching the electric web.
“Think of something fast! My electric net can’t sustain damage for long!” yelled the agitated White Snake.
“The city’s barriers won’t last much longer either.”
Zhao Mingwei released Wenna and looked up at the dome-like steel barrier above them.
Outside, monsters violently battered the already fragile surface of the barrier, their impacts causing a teeth-gritting noise as the steel twisted, and dents began densely appearing on the dome.
It would not be long before the creatures outside tore apart this… tin can, and then feasted on the small morsels of meat inside!
“No wonder they call it the difficulty level ‘No One Left Alive.’ I have to berate the damn designers when I go back. No, I’ll post on the forums right now! This hellish instance is really ‘beat your mom’ difficult,” Heijian Zhuorou was freaking out.
“There must be some mechanic we’ve yet to trigger, like how the monsters in this piece of the city… let’s just call it that, how the monsters in this piece of the city disappear?”
Caramel did not waste energy on complaining. He was more concerned about why, unlike the other city pieces swarmed by zombies, the Dwarf City’s monsters… vanished into thin air?
“Dragons and… some other creatures…,” Wenna suddenly spoke, “The creatures on Heichao Island are the physical manifestations of the monsters in this world. If you kill the corresponding dragons in the real world, they will disappear en masse.”
“So, you are actually the key story NPC?” Couldn’t help but snark Add-Milk-Don’t-Add-Price.
But nobody paid any attention to Add-Milk-Don’t-Add-Price’s snide remark, as Zhao Mingwei’s gaze immediately turned to the Lady of Calamities.
“I don’t need you to direct me, Holy Spirit, I’ve already done what I had to do,” said the Lady of Calamities, and a glow marked with her pirate gang’s emblem lit up in her hand.
The same mark flashed upon the bodies of those monsters outside.
“The sea has already memorized their scent!” the Lady of Calamities declared.
After confirming that all the monsters had been tagged with the Tracking Technique by the Lady of Calamities, Zhao Mingwei immediately opened his message interface and sent a voice chat request to Mo Shigui, who accepted it instantly.
“Speak.”
The sound of swords slicing through flesh and dragon roars filled the voice of Mo Shigui, clearly indicating that he was already leading the Jumping Nuclei and the forces from Heichao Island into frontal combat.
“The first phase of the instance mechanic needs your cooperation; find the dragons marked with the Lady of Calamities’ pirate symbol on Heichao Island and kill them!” Zhao Mingwei spoke.
“Give me some time!” Mo Shigui said before the conversation could end, and Zhao Mingwei could still hear him commanding guild members to attack.
It seemed Mo Shigui was also engaged in a fierce battle in Biland Island.
…
Biland Island’s current battle situation is indeed bleak, with the stronghold of the Abyss Temple having just been destroyed yet again.
When the monsters from Blacktide Island descended upon Biland Island, the Abyss Temple experienced what it means to have a monster siege at supercharged intensity.
As the foremost outpost on Biland Island, the Abyss Temple stronghold withstood the siege of forty-three lord-level giant dragons for about an hour before it ultimately fell.
Can Xin is now cursing and swearing as he has run to join Mo Shigui at the Nuclear Leap stronghold to hold the line.
The saints can resurrect within the stronghold, and the Magic Thieves from Blacktide Island are clever, knowing that to capture Biland Island, they must thoroughly destroy the stronghold’s stone.
Therefore, the Nuclear Leap stronghold is also in danger of being breached, and the city-defense machinery that Xiao Yuemao and Xia Shan built on the city walls is unable to hold back those massive lord-level giant dragons.
The life points of Nuclear Leap’s city walls are now down to only one hundred thousand, and the life points of the magic barrier in the sky are even lower, around sixty thousand.
“Guild leader, shall we abandon our position and charge through?” Xiao Yuemao suddenly said directly in the guild channel.
Because he also heard what Zhao Mingwei had said… realizing that the Beheading Squad urgently needed assistance.
“Can we really do that? We can allocate a group of people to snipe the monsters marked with the Lady of Calamity’s sign.” Mo Shigui said.
The reason Mo Shigui asked was that Xiao Yuemao had already decided to give up the Nuclear Leap stronghold, a stronghold he had built with his own hands!
And this question was essentially asking… are you willing to abandon everything, just for the chance to win for your teammates?
Xiao Yuemao’s answer… was affirmative.
“We can’t hold out that long, and neither can they,” Xiao Yuemao’s voice still trembled slightly.
“We’ll teleport away? Among the dragons surrounding us, it seems none have been marked by the Lady of Calamity,” shouted Mama Has a Dog.
Before Mo Shigui could issue a command, a dazzling meteor suddenly appeared in the sky and fell directly in front of the gate of the Nuclear Leap stronghold.
It’s the Flame Ash Dragon!
The moment this Island Master appeared, it unleashed its signature skill, which players jokingly referred to as the nuclear blast.
The wings of the Flame Ash Dragon flared violently, releasing flames and explosions that toppled the lord-level dragons blocking the gates of Nuclear Leap!
After the Flame Ash Dragon released the nuclear blast, it roared at the people on the city wall of Nuclear Leap, as if telling them ‘Follow me!’
“Guild leader!” The other members of the guild were becoming restless.
Mo Shigui looked towards Silver General, who was throwing stones at the dragons at the base of the city walls.
“If they want this stronghold that badly…” Silver General looked at the lord-level giant dragons gathering in the distance, along with the mixed-in Magic Thieves, and said “then let them have it.”
“Nuclear Leap, all members! Disengage from combat and summon your flying mounts!”
Mo Shigui directly issued the command to the members of the guild, and the Nuclear Leap sub-branch was sent by Silver General to protect the initial stronghold.
The initial stronghold is the last bastion for the saints. If the initial stronghold falls, the saints can only retreat to the real world, and then Biland Island’s control will completely fall to Blacktide Island.
Meanwhile, all the players inside the Nuclear Leap stronghold summoned their flying mounts and soared into the sky.
A lord-level dragon in the sky tried to attack the players flying into the heavens, but the Flame Ash Dragon swiftly spread its wings and charged at those overconfident dragons, burning their wings to ash with its fire.
“It knows where the dragons marked by the Lady of Calamity are, follow it,” Mo Shigui said.
“Abyss Temple, with me, attack!” Can Xin didn’t care about the dangers as he followed the Flame Ash Dragon flying toward the depths of the other side of Biland Island in the sky.
Energetic nucleons also followed the Flame Ash Dragon… Intense heat radiated from the dragon’s wings, repelling any dragonkind that attempted to approach.
Under the protection of the Flame Ash Dragon, the path was unobstructed in the sky, until the dragon collided with a sudden shadow and fell from the sky. Mo Shigui was also affected and plummeted from the sky.
He crashed harshly into the edge of the Spiritual Vein Forest, and after a series of freefalls, Mo Shigui felt queasy. He shook his head and took a look around.
Not far from him lay the enormous body of the Flame Ash Dragon, but the flames that usually surrounded it had been completely extinguished.
“Boss? Boss, are you all right?”
“I’m all right…” Mo Shigui got up from the ground and was about to check the condition of the Flame Ash Dragon when a massive shadow stepped onto its body.
The shadow was covered in deep blue crystalline spines, and its similarly blue vertical pupils reflected Mo Shigui’s surprised expression.
‘Devouring Dragon, Level: 67, Lord-Level Creature, Health Points: 6512000/7000000, Description: A dragon that lives by hunting its own kind, having devoured a great amount of power from the Devouring God. Please be careful. If killed by it, the memories Fureya lost will multiply.’
“So you’re our prey?” Mo Shigui saw the dragon, resembling a blue hedgehog with a disaster lady’s hunting mark in its status bar, and immediately understood this was the dragon he needed to slay quickly.
The Devouring Dragon responded to Mo Shigui with a roar and flung the unconscious body of the Flame Ash Dragon at him.
Mo Shigui ducked and dodged the strike. In the next second, a giant claw pinned him directly to the ground.
The Devouring Dragon looked down at Mo Shigui lying on the ground, opened its vast mouth, and attempted to swallow him whole.
…
At the forefront of the Nightmare Consciousness on Black Tide Island.
In just half an hour, the walls of Dwarf City, which were as fragile as paper, had been torn apart with several breaches by those monsters.
Seeing the hordes of monsters pouring in, the members of the Beheading Squad really wished they were playing a real-time strategy game where they could build barracks and turrets.
“Can’t we just run away?”
Black Pot Cooking Meat unleashed his awakened frenzy slaughter, creating a momentary vacuum in the sky where all the killed monsters were frozen in place.
When Black Pot Cooking Meat snapped his fingers… not only did the monsters in the sky not decrease, but there were even more of them.
“Where would we flee? We’ve scouted all around; this is the best defensive point!”
The speaker was Zhen Nanfeng, howling like the southern wind. He was a Magic Swordsman, also known as an Asura… a class that used swords to cast magic.
Zhen Nanfeng’s Ghost Seal Bead instantly sealed several of the breaches, but even a moment’s distraction allowed the monsters swarming from the sky to surround him.
He unleashed a pulsing blast, instantly wiping out those monsters daring to encircle him.
“My MP can’t keep up!”
Add Milk Without Increase in Price and another player from the Titan Team took on the task of boosting the whole team’s health. If anyone got injured, they had to be healed to the brim, or in the next second, they would need the Resurrection Technique to save them.
“This instance doesn’t require any skill at all!”
Lu Wei scattered a large number of bean-like round bombs into the sky. Hot fireworks bloomed above… she was getting somewhat tired of the killing spree.
“Let a normal player come into this instance and see if they can last for five minutes!” Black Pot Cooking Meat shouted.
The situation was very bad, and Zhao Mingwei agreed with Lu Wei and Blackpot Cook’s assessment.
This instance didn’t really require technique, as the sheer number of monsters was beyond what could be overcome by skill alone.
However, to survive this instance, one needed ample practice of their skills and body movements, but even with extensive practice… the Beheading Squad had already persevered under the siege of monsters for almost half an hour.
The speed of MP recovery was nearly exhausted, and this was under the condition that Zhao Mingwei had already designated people to help them spatially recover MP.
“Boss! We’ll be wiped out if this goes on!”
At the moment Caramel’s shout ended, he was slashed across the neck by a creature resembling a soul-stealing monster, his health dropped to zero, and he instantly turned into a tombstone.
“The situation at the Guild Leader’s side is very bad…” Juan Canyun now also felt somewhat exhausted.
Mo Shigui’s health under Zhao Mingwei’s gaze had already dropped to zero for the fourth time, he was engaged in a fierce battle, but according to the voice report, the Flame Ash Dragon that Mo Shigui was facing still had 10 percent of its health left!
As Zhao Mingwei was estimating what to do next, piercing thunder roared through the voice channel… it was the Lion Heart Knight!
The Lion Heart Knight also participated as reinforcements in this Flame Ash Dragon hunt, now left with only 20 percent of his health, confronting the Flame Ash Dragon alone.
The moment Zhao Mingwei heard the sound of flesh tearing from the voice channel, he couldn’t help but open the Raccoon live broadcast to check out the official guide group’s live stream.
Juan Canyun also saw the lower half of the Lion Heart Knight being bitten by the Flame Ash Dragon!
“Advance… holy spirits!” The Lion Heart Knight, bitten in the mouth of the Flame Ash Dragon, still raised his lance high, concentrating a large amount of thunder on it, “Advance!”
The moment the Lion Heart Knight’s lance thrust down, the Flame Ash Dragon’s life instantly dropped to zero, and all the monsters surrounding the skies of Dwarf City disappeared, with the entire Dwarf City trembling and on the verge of collapsing.
“Run!”
Zhao Mingwei caught a last glimpse of the Lion Heart Knight’s health in the live broadcast, with around two thousand points of health left for the Lion Heart Knight, now the real danger was upon them.
The monsters had disappeared, and Dwarf City was collapsing, but fortunately, Zhao Mingwei had already found the next foothold.
As Dwarf City gradually crumbled… the monsters on the fragments of another distant city were also cleared, this time Zhao Mingwei didn’t entrust Wenna, and after gaining air superiority, everyone immediately summoned their flying mounts and escaped from the peril of Dwarf City’s collapse.
“Shouldn’t we go offline to rest for a bit?” asked a member of the Beheading Squad
This half-hour of high-intensity battle had exhausted even the professional players.
“I suggest you drink a cup of coffee and Red Bull.” Caramel, rescued, gazed into the depths of space at the large and small fragments of cities and said, “We might have to grind for most of the day.”
…
Twenty-one hours, that was the time the Beheading Squad ultimately spent to reach the Island Master’s consciousness core.
During these twenty-one hours, the situation on Biland Island hadn’t changed much, the strongholds established by the players around had all been breached by the Magic Thieves, and now the players were just holding out at Biland Island’s initial stronghold and the Cola Fervor stronghold.
Most of the casual players treated this battle as an ordinary game event, and the majority of players from the eight major guilds thought the same, as did the newcomers cultivated by the Jumping Nucleus sub-guild.
But whether from the eight major guilds or the Jumping Nucleus sub-guild players, very few chose to go offline for long periods during these six hours… they all devoted all their time to Spirits today.
This was also the main reason why Biland Island’s initial stronghold was able to hold out.
One or two players being online continuously for twenty-one hours was quite normal since ‘saint of endurance’ type players existed everywhere, but a situation where all the players from the server evolved into ‘saints of endurance’… no game in the current world could achieve that.
But how much longer could they hold on?
President Silver knew that humans have their limits. The fact that nearly all members of the twelve branches of Jumping Nucleus had been online for twenty-one hours in the past twenty-one hours was already a miracle.
But this miracle wouldn’t last long. President Silver had already seen players in the guild declaring, “Can’t hold on anymore!””I’m not grinding anymore, feels like the property deed is hopeless.””Everyone remember to sleep early, huh? It’s the second day already?” before choosing to log off.
President Silver silently said “hard work” to those guild members whose names had turned gray on the roster, then turned his gaze toward the figure standing before him.
He had been captured by the Magic Thieves. The forward base of the starting point had been overrun, and he happened to be inside. Unable to win the fight but also incapable of flight, it was he whom the Magic Thieves caught.
So, President Silver was tied up with coarse hemp rope and taken away by a group of Magic Thieves, and now he found himself in the Magic Thieves’ main camp on Biland Island…
“We meet again, Holy Spirit.” Denghis Xisi said to President Silver, who was bound by rope.
“Hmm, we meet again… Could I have a cup of coffee? I’m kinda thirsty.” President Silver found a flaw in the design of the game Holy Spirit: if one’s hands were tied, there was no way to click the log-out button, and even in reality, his own hands couldn’t move.
However, one could exit using their mind, but President Silver had no intention of doing so.
“If you’re willing to accept my terms, you can have anything you like to drink. We have all the time in the world right now.”
Denghis Xisi was currently in the ruins of the Jumping Nucleus stronghold. The stronghold of Jumping Nucleus had been utterly destroyed by the dragons, and Denghis Xisi sat on the ruins, looking at President Silver who was sitting on the other side of the debris.
“What are the terms?” President Silver asked.
“Return my student, Yelena, to me,” Denghis Xisi stated. “This way, at the very least, your original world won’t be harmed. I promise.”
When Denghis Xisi said “your original world,” a brief stiffness appeared on President Silver’s smiling face, but it disappeared instantly under Lu Wei’s boisterous laughter.
President Silver was watching a live stream… watching the live stream of Lu Wei of Team Titan, who had now arrived at the core of the core of the Black Tide Island Consciousness.
The place looked like a castle with many rooms from the live broadcast. Each room held a negative consciousness of a Magic Thief, rather than a mob of monsters.
Lu Wei was now engaged in a one-on-one duel with a negative consciousness of a Magic Thief named Mica; Lu Wei easily killed the negative consciousness, which had only thirty-two thousand hit points.
“Easy*Game!” Lu Wei raised her hands, cheering nonstop, like a wrestler who had won a match.
She had been tormented by a swarm of monsters that refreshed crazily outside the core area for an entire day; now that she could finally have a one-on-one duel, she was understandably excited.
“Before I respond to your request, I have a question.” President Silver looked at Denghis Xisi and said, “Among your Magic Thieves, is there one named Mica? He’s very proficient with a chain hammer.”
“He is also one of my students,” Denghis Xisi answered.
“Then I suggest you concern yourself with his mental state right now,” said President Silver, hinting at something ominous.
Denghis Xisi immediately had someone fetch the Magic Thief named Mica. When Mica approached him, the nearly two-meter-tall burly figure was crying like a newborn child.
“What’s wrong?” Denghis Xisi asked immediately.
“I feel awful, master! Why did I kill so many people before? They were all innocent, and maybe they have families waiting for them to return home…” Mica sobbed uncontrollably, kneeling on the ground and confessing.
“Oh, there’s also someone named Light.” President Silver watched the live stream where Lu Wei was now observing Zhao Mingwei’s one-on-one duel with another imprisoned Magic Thief. Zhao Mingwei took only ten seconds to defeat his opponent.
So, on the ruins of Jumping Nucleus, another cry of repentance was added. Truly… beating the enemy until they cry.
“What… have you done?” Denghis Xisi realized that the emotional breakdown of his apprentices wasn’t due to some sudden enlightenment.
“Give me a cup of coffee and I’ll tell you. Remember to add a little extra sugar,” President Silver remained calm. “We have all the time in the world, don’t we?”
