Chapter 278 - Chapter 278 Chapter 276 Seed (4th Update)
Chapter 278: Chapter 276: Seed (4th Update) Chapter 278: Chapter 276: Seed (4th Update) The land of crystals on Biland Island.
The Magic Thief Town at the heart of the land of crystals had become ruins, the kind that wouldn’t be restored.
Some of the Magic Thief civilians couldn’t bear the ravages of hunger and left with the Holy Spirits who came here to scavenge.
So these ruins often saw players come to take a glance, checking for any newly appeared NPCs.
Today, no new NPCs had “refreshed” in the Magic Thief Town, but in the core area, the fourth sector, there were still over a hundred Magic Thieves hiding and barely clinging to life.
They evaded the “pursuit” of the Holy Spirits, relying on the high walls of the fourth layer for protection to barely get through each day.
Today, one of those hiding behind the high walls showed unusual symptoms; this Magic Thief had been possessed by the remnant soul of Denghis Xisi.
The Crystal Disease Infected shared a faint collective consciousness, which, although it didn’t affect individual thinking, could… be used for certain special things.
Denghis Xisi had sealed his consciousness among them and at the right time found a suitable host to usher in his second rebirth.
This rebirth was incomplete, as part of Denghis Xisi’s personality and memory had been devoured by the power of the Devouring God during his execution by the Knight and the axe-wielding man.
Even though his memory and personality were no longer intact, Denghis Xisi still remembered what he had to do.
He controlled the Magic Thief he had possessed and came to the forbidden land at the very center of the land of crystals.
Six stone tablets still stood there… along with one that had been completely destroyed.
Denghis Xisi came to his usual stone tablet and knelt down; he hesitated briefly, then still placed his hand on it.
The stone tablet emitted a faint glow, and Denghis Xisi felt his consciousness connect with the Magic Thieves in another world.
This was Denghis Xisi’s last resort… His original wish was to control Biland Island, and then use the island’s power to break away from the gods’ dominion with his fellows.
But that was no longer possible, so he at least wanted those gods, as well as the Holy Spirits, to pay a price.
“You’re finally willing to communicate with us? Fellow lost among the outsiders.”
A voice arose in Denghis Xisi’s mind, but he didn’t answer the voice… he was communicating with it through his thoughts.
“I can sense your anger, but even if I endowed you with greater power, it would be impossible to confront so many descendants of the Devouring God, so we must rely on some other power.”
As the words of the voice ended, another stone tablet beside Denghis Xisi suddenly lit up with a deep purple light.
Denghis Xisi stared as the deep purple energy spilled from the stone tablet and gathered, eventually forming into an object that floated in mid-air like a beating heart.
He didn’t dare to reach out and touch the heart-like object pulsating.
Because this object was even more evil than the powers of Ghost God and Blood Qi wielded by the Holy Spirits, it was an Abyss Seed.
In his current weakened state, Denghis Xisi didn’t know if he could restrain the power from the abyss.
So Denghis Xisi used some floating magic to drive this pulsating Abyss Seed deeper into this forbidden area.
The true core of Biland Island, and Denghis Xisi didn’t plan to allow this Abyss Seed to contaminate Biland Island because… the seed simply couldn’t do so.
Biland Island existed at the same rank as the abyss, but while the seed could not contaminate the entire Biland Island, it could contaminate the Island Master of this island.
The Island Master of the island in the land of crystals was still asleep.
Denghis Xisi came before the Island Master in the land of crystals, who was now an egg, or rather a giant ‘cocoon,’ and he spent a long time communicating with it.
Originally, after it hatched, it was to become Denghis Xisi’s dependable ally, but sadly… Denghis Xisi could no longer see that day, or rather it could no longer wait for that day.
The Holy Spirits had already taken absolute dominion over Biland Island, and this Island Master of the crystal land would also become a part of the Holy Spirits!
He would not allow this to happen.
“You… it’s time for you to spread your own wings,” said Denghis Xisi, pushing the Abyss Seed toward that dragon cocoon.
The Abyss Seed was readily absorbed by it, and the originally pure white dragon cocoon began gradually to be enveloped in deep purple.
The hatching was already accelerating! It wouldn’t be long… the Holy Spirits on this island would face their most formidable enemy.
“No… This is far from enough. Biland Island is like a child he raised by himself; it should be the world owned by the Holy Spirit himself to be destroyed!”
……
The jumping nucleus triumphed gloriously over Conqueror of the Heavens, with electronic sports speaking through wins and losses.
This victory silenced those online critics of the jumping nucleus immediately.
In the evening, Mo Shigui also took time to return to the base for a visit and started preparing for the final strategy of New World Plaza.
The preparation didn’t last long, but during this period, Mo Shigui was constantly troubled by something.
That was… after the game ended, his girlfriend asked him how to obtain ‘play eligibility for the Holy Spirit?’.
This wasn’t the first time Mo Shigui’s girlfriend had asked him this question; during the second test of the Holy Spirit, she had told Mo Shigui, ‘I want to play Holy Spirit with you guys too.’
At that time, Mo Shigui had brushed it off with ‘I can’t do anything about it,’ but after the third test, the Holy Spirit’s influence had gradually expanded.
More and more players, and even non-gamers, were becoming aware of Holy Spirit, but the rate of account releases was still unchanging.
Now Mo Shigui was feeling very conflicted internally; on one hand, he wanted to explore the dazzling world of Holy Spirit with his girlfriend, but on the other, he felt a sense of guilt.
He couldn’t pinpoint where this guilt was coming from until he arrived at the tree hollow and saw Fureya sleeping blissfully in the bed; then Mo Shigui understood where this guilt came from.
Fureya was just an NPC.
This reason could no longer convince him.
It was like having a pet cat for a long time. Even if Mo Shigui didn’t want to treat her as a family member, he would still feel restless inside if something happened to the cat or if it went missing.
Unlike other Holy Spirit players who cheerfully call their own Fureya ‘wife, wife,’ Mo Shigui’s view of Fureya was more like… a daughter?
He couldn’t clearly define his feelings for Fureya, and most crucially, how did Fureya see him?
Thinking this, Mo Shigui lightly tapped his own head. How would an NPC view a player? Either as a wallet or a tool, of course.
“When did you come?”
Mo Shigui’s movements woke up the sleeping Fureya. When she opened her eyes and saw Mo Shigui’s figure, a joyful expression appeared on her face as she was about to get up.
But Mo Shigui immediately raised his hand to stop her…
“I didn’t come here for any mission; you go back to sleep, I’ll be leaving soon,” Mo Shigui came here just to check on Fureya’s status attributes.
“You are… leaving again?” Fureya’s hands continuously rubbed the corner of the blanket, and her gaze at Mo Shigui dimmed, “Holy Spirit, may you have a pleasant journey.”
Preset dialogue?
Mo Shigui paused for a moment, as his Fureya, with her increased intelligence, hadn’t said any preset dialogues for a long time.
But this was a line that Fureya would occasionally say when a player was leaving.
Was it because he hadn’t visited her for too long and she was throwing a tantrum?
If Mo Shigui remembered correctly, he had been busy strategizing for New World Plaza recently and hadn’t come to the base to see Fureya for almost five days.
Without Fureya’s guiding stone, his Fureya could only wait quietly in this tree hollow for the return of the Holy Spirits.
In theory… a puppet shouldn’t be capable of feeling loneliness, but his Fureya had already learned this… rather useless emotion.
“After some time, maybe I can take you to see my world,” Mo Shigui remembered, as long as… they conquered the New World Plaza area and completed the construction of the teleportation gate.
Then they would be able to take Fureya to his world for a day trip with the help of Fureya’s guiding stone.
“Your world?” Mo Shigui’s Fureya seemed to think of something but soon lay back on the bed, burying half of her face under the blanket, only revealing eyes that showed slight joy as she looked at Mo Shigui and said, “I will pray for you and wait for your victorious return.”
It was still preset dialogue, but it didn’t matter anymore.
Mo Shigui had to spend all night grinding for Challenge Vouchers today.
