Chapter 1543: Chapter 736: The Goal is Finally Achieved_2
"I will," Joanna said with a smile on her face, though her expression was very firm.
"I hereby pronounce Miss Joanna Davis and Mr. Sean Knight to be husband and wife!"
Joanna covered her mouth with one hand, tears streaming down her face with joy, yet she didn’t forget to toss her bouquet back over her shoulder.
The bridesmaids crowded together, scrambling for it.
Sean took Joanna’s hand and gently kissed her on the forehead. The wedding, it was done.
After staying in New York for another half a month, Sean and Joanna left there to go to China.
In the middle of the journey, Elijah reported some news.
"Boss, while you were holding the wedding, people from the Chinese Intelligence Agency came looking for you, originally planning to cause you some trouble."
"Hmm?" Sean’s brows furrowed, a hint of anger flashing across his face.
The Chinese Intelligence Agency was preoccupied with their own issues and still had the nerve to bother him?
"Yes," Elijah nodded, "Robert informed me in advance, and then I contacted our destroyer on Big Island, as well as the composite brigade in the Middle East..."
Hearing this, Sean couldn’t help but chuckle.
Was Elijah planning to lay all his cards out and then apply pressure?
"What happened next?"
"Then they backed down," Elijah smirked, "Later, I learned through a message from Robert that they had an important boat in the Middle East. If the composite brigade really made trouble, they would suffer heavy losses there."
Not to mention there was a destroyer! That thing was equipped with dozens of missile wells!
Sean smiled, but on second thought, it might be better to visit the Americans less often in the future.
Who knew if they would go crazy and pull another stunt like this?
After all, there was a precedent!
Sean even thought about whether to get another destroyer, or maybe even a bigger one?
Supposedly, when the Soviet Union collapsed, Russia and Ukraine lost several devices comparable to what Miss Lillian owned, could he get a few through the black market? Otherwise, security wasn’t guaranteed.
Lost in his wild thoughts, Sean returned to China.
In China, Sean and Joanna held another traditional Chinese wedding.
Although the eldest member of the Knight Family was somewhat dissatisfied, Sean was grown up, and his industry was too vast to count. At most, they could only gripe a bit.
Joanna had already arrived; could they really send her back?
Thus, Joanna got to experience a Chinese wedding as well.
After that, Sean rested well for some time until Joanna got pregnant. Only then did he send her back to New York.
Of course, accompanying her were three nannies from China.
In Sean’s words, he wanted Joanna to experience the Chinese confinement service.
After sending Joanna off, Sean hurriedly took his team to Big Island.
Mainly because Lana was about to give birth.
Two months after arriving on the island, Lana gave birth to twins.
This took Sean by surprise.
Had he acquired the genes for having twins after absorbing the spiritual energy?
Or was there some other reason?
For the next half a year, Sean stayed on Big Island, accompanying Lana and the children. Fortunately, there were many sunken ships in the Nearby Sea Area, so Sean wasn’t concerned about being idle.
This also significantly enriched the merchandise in the island’s marketplace, further enhancing Big Island’s reputation.
Due to the incident in New York, when Sean went treasure hunting at sea, there were at least thirty to fifty team members following nearby.
This diminished the pleasure of his treasure hunts somewhat.
But it couldn’t be helped. After all, his welfare connected tens of thousands, if not more, people’s livelihoods. Just for that reason, no one would take it lightly.
And then, Sean Knight disguised himself and went to New York.
Because Joanna Davis was about to give birth.
Throughout this entire year, Sean added two children to his family and also accumulated a great deal of wealth.
From the diamond mine in Russia, a world-class rare, large pink diamond was unearthed. According to the professionals, it’s priceless because there is no other diamond of its size in the world.
The constant stream of visitors to Big Island also brought Sean staggering wealth.
Oil fields, golden mines, coal mines, copper mines, farmland...
The industrial blueprint of Sean’s businesses grew increasingly expansive. Although no one ever listed him among the world’s wealthiest, many were aware that Sean had in fact become the richest person on the planet.
Gradually, those close to him began to notice that Sean and his family seemed to never age, while those not so intimately acquainted were slowly growing older...
"Book completed."
...
This book was released in October 2022 and took one year and three months to write, totaling over 2.8 million characters—not too slow.
Here, I want to thank those readers who supported me from the beginning. Your ongoing readership, your votes, your subscriptions, all supported me to this point, helped me achieve new heights. Thank you all!
Speaking of which, after so many years of writing, this has been my best-performing book.
But embarrassingly, when I started this book, I didn’t have a solid outline. As a result, many readers could tell that the later parts of the story became somewhat disjointed.
I apologize for letting down your support. Because at that time, I pitched three openings to my editor, and the two I was confident in were rejected, leaving this half-baked one to pass.
Life is so unpredictable—well, that term isn’t exactly positive in our culture; to some people here, it signifies something that’s gone.
Forgive my wild imagination. After all, having finished writing, I do feel relieved but also left with a hollow space inside.
Looking back, I might be considered one of the older generation of authors on Starting Point. My first book on Starting Point was in 2006, without a contract.
At that time, I also joined a newbie group, and ended up outlasting almost everyone, eventually becoming the Administrator. My dream then was to be contracted. Once I was, I dreamed of writing a boutique.
This book finally became a boutique, but I’m still not satisfied because it was too rushed.
But still, it was completed—
Back in the newbie group, most of those who wrote with me have now stopped.
They’ve married, had children, started businesses, gone on to do other things. The number of those who are still writing can be counted on one hand.
In the groups I joined, there were many great and even platinum-level writers. I started in the early Starting Point Group 2, then moved to Group 4, later Group 3. My editors also changed from Starfish, to Aoyama, to Wutong, and then to Qilin.
I’m not a naturally talented writer. After nearly twenty years of perseverance, my skill level is still just so-so—pretty embarrassing. But I like writing, I can’t help it. Perhaps I will keep writing in the future. I do have one advantage over many people: I have some time, and my typing speed is decent.
What I lack is talent, imagination, and initiative.
I hope the books I write next continue to be enjoyed by everyone. I also hope to interact more with you all and will steadfastly walk this path. If one day I can reach the annual conference, I’ll truly be satisfied.
This book was initially inspired by a video, which many of you might already know. When writing it, I didn’t have much knowledge about the subject matter, so I researched while I wrote. It was a learning process for me too.
My love for writing stems from my love for reading. In the future, if you come across any good books, I hope you can also recommend them to me—I used to be an old bookworm who would read all night.
After all, having gone through "Purple River," "As heaven maintains vigor through movement," "The Legend of the Little Soldier," "This Land is So Beautiful," and "The Drifting Journey," I can still call myself an old bookworm.
The next book will be released tomorrow. I’ve already communicated with my editor. The content is quite fresh, and I hope you will like it.
The title is "Starting from an Egg, the Worlds I Face," which is a new attempt for me.
There was a time when someone asked me what kind of books I’m good at writing, and I boldly said that I was good at writing any genre.
After all, in my view, regardless of the genre, web novels are just the same core wrapped in different exteriors. Growth stories could be about cultivation in fantasy, leveling up in games, farming in the city, or vying for supremacy in history.
It’s just a change of map, a change of setting.
So when you see the new title, I hope you won’t avoid it just because it’s a different genre. At least give it a glance and support me a bit.
Starting from scratch, I urgently need everyone’s support.
In the early stages of the new book, every reader’s support is invaluable.
That’s all for now, off to write the new book, and once again, thank you, everyone.
The Novel will be updated first on this website. Come back and continue reading tomorrow, everyone!
