Rise Online: Return of the Legendary Player
Chapter 98 - 98: Ravastine Spelloyal

When Kaizen discovered that the woman he saved from Leohorn was one of the two princesses of the imposing Tretidian Human Kingdom, he was surprised and pleased at the same time. Discovering this made the pieces get arranged in his mind.

This explains Ravastine's fear of telling people that her father was ill. If people knew about it, the subject could spread, it most certainly would. The possibility that some other nation might want to take advantage of the absence of Tretidian's greatest leader to attack would create insecurity and fear in the population.

'Yeah... I think she trusts me too much after saving her life. What a strange princess. Anyway, at least I got a mission.' Kaizen thought after he left the arena.

[You accepted a Story Mission from Ravastine Spelloyal.]

[Mission Name: First Visit.

You saved Ravastine Spelloyal from death, and when you asked if you could help her with any more matters, she invited you to visit her the next day at the Palace of the Royal City of Tretidian.

Possible rewards upon completing this Quest:

- Mission Continuation]

[The current objective of this quest is to Visit Ravastine Spelloyal at the Palace of the Royal City of Tretidian.]

For Kaizen, it was encouraging to get a History Quest. The last time he had the chance, he made the big mistake of interfering in a mission of the same type when he wasn't prepared for it, and thanks to that, he died and lost several levels.

Now that he was prepared, he would not faint again.

When he looked at the sky outside the arena, he realized that it was still a long way to go to dusk. This was encouraging.

He then went to a more secluded area of the White House neighborhood of the Royal City and logged out.

When he removed the NeuroGear from his head, he immediately picked up his cell phone and slid his right index finger across the screen until he found Jayaa's contact in his address book.

'Jayaa's office hours at Arc Insurance are over, and since he lives downtown, he must be home by now.' Klaus thought while calling his friend it would be faster than texting.

'Come on, pick up.'

"Hello?" Surprisingly, the person who answered Jayaa's cell phone in less than 1 second was not Jayaa, but a female voice.

"Hello, who am I speaking to?" inquired Klaus.

"Emma. Who do you want to talk to?"

That name was immediately recognized by Klaus. "Emma? So, you are Jayaa's sister? It's a pleasure to finally meet you. My name is Klaus Park, and I am Jayaa's friend. He must have mentioned me to you."

"Ah! Klaus, it is a pleasure for me to talk to you as well. Is everything ready for your move? Jayaa told me that you took it easy on the rent, but are you sure that three thousand dollars a month won't weigh on your budget?"

Klaus literally went white with nervousness at that point. Three thousand dollars on rent? Who could afford that huge amount on a rental? And why did Jayaa lie about him being able to live for free?

With a lump in his throat, he was about to answer with his voice so shaky it would sound like he was using these voices program to sound like a robot, but before he could say anything, Emma said:

"It's a joke, okay? I'm just kidding. Jayaa didn't want to go into detail about what you're going through, but he said he needed to help a friend and asked permission for you to live with us. Since I have an extra room in my apartment, I don't see a problem.

"Uff! You scared the hell out of me for a few seconds."

Suddenly, Klaus heard Jayaa's voice coming up on the call.

"Hey, Emma. What are you doing with my cell phone? Who are you talking to?"

"It's with Klaus~" She replied, teasing her younger brother.

The way she spoke connected with what Klaus said while he was leaving the apartment the day before made Jayaa think the worst possible.

What if Klaus was serious when he almost said he would flirt with Emma? Jayaa hated thinking about it, so he toweled out of the bathroom and quickly grabbed the cell phone from Emma's hand.

"Thanks, and see you later. Don't expect me for dinner. I'll be busy." Jayaa said to her.

Kaizen heard this and then the sound of a closing door, then a strange silence rose on the call. He almost laughed, but he held back, and Emma had precisely the same reaction to seeing her brother so stressed.

"Hello, Klaus?"

"Hey, dude. Were you busy?"

"Relax, buddy, I was In the shower. Anyway, so, what did you and my sister talk about?" Jayaa's tone of voice was one of hopelessness.

"Nothing much. We just introduced ourselves."

Klaus' response cheered Jayaa up a bit. "I believe you, bro. But why did you call me?"

"What do you mean? Don't you remember that we agreed to meet in the Royal City today?"

"Oh, all right. Meet me at the Obelisk Plaza in 20 minutes. I'll be the guy with a beret and a lute."

"All right, see you in a bit," Klaus said and hung up the voice call soon after. "Wait, did he really say he's going to be with a beret and a lute...?"

Klaus Park had already seen this Obelisk Square on the map of the Royal City. This place was between two different city districts, specifically, the white building district and the low district, as the area near the bridge overpass in the business district was known. This wasn't too far from where Klaus was, and if he were to go running, it would take him about 10 minutes to get there.

Kaizen decided to take just a small and fast break while he had some time left, so he got something to eat and a drink.

When he returned to his room, he immediately logged on to NeuroGear. However, this time he felt a bit of pain on the right side of his forehead when he tried to engage the device.

"Ouch!"

He removed the NeuroGear and checked the part that hurt him. Surprisingly, there was a well-worn part of the front protective foam, which was understandable because the video game was cheap compared to his technology. Anyway, luckily it didn't bleed.

The next time he put the NeuroGear on, he tried to be as gentle and less rushed as possible, so the tear in the device didn't hurt him.

'Now that I have $100,000, I definitely need to buy a more recent version of the NeuroGear, not this cheap and flimsy first edition.' Klaus thought about it, and then closing his eyes, he stated,

"Start Connection!"
