Rise of the Harem King
Chapter 78: Reward

Chapter 78: Reward

Sylvia flinched at the sight before her.

A monstrous, towering beast let out a deafening roar, shaking the very air around it. Its colossal body loomed like a moving mountain. From its massive torso sprouted hundreds of writhing necks, each twisting and coiling like scary serpents.

Then, all the serpent-like heads locked onto Sylvia, their eyes cold and filled with murderous intent as the monster grew furious at her response.

Finally, hundreds of furious heads lunged toward her, their eyes burning with unrelenting rage. Their snarling faces contorted in a grotesque display of fury as they struck with all their might. But instead of reaching her, their attacks collided violently against an unseen force, a powerful energy barrier that surrounded her like an impenetrable shield.

The impact sent shockwaves rippling through the air, accompanied by a deafening crackle as the barrier absorbed the onslaught. The sheer force of the attack made the ground tremble beneath her feet, yet the barrier held firm, defying the relentless assault.

Sylvia’s heart pounded in her chest as she struggled to make sense of what was happening. For a brief moment, all she could do was stand frozen.

And for a few more moments, the countless heads tried to continue their furious attack, but it soon became clear that they would not be able to defeat the enemy before them.

Then, suddenly, a being appeared between Sylvia and the terrifying monster. Seeing that he had calmed things down, Gilg smiled and for the first time the girl was happy to hear his overly excited voice.

"Calm down, auntie, I cannot allow you to take the life of the first guest we have had in so long!"

The countless heads exchanged glances before engaging in a silent debate. At the very least, Sylvia couldn’t comprehend the telepathic manner in which this being communicated with itself.

And after a few moments, some heads were brutally removed by the majority that had already made its decision. Following a short and brutal battle, the minority was completely eliminated.

"My apologies for losing my head," one of the remaining heads approached and spoke in a soft, almost maternal tone.

"But that doesn’t mean we forgive you for placing a human above us." Another head drew closer, its neck coiling around her as it stared at her with a more hostile expression.

"Even so, showing such aggression toward one of our dependents is regrettable," another head joined the conversation, speaking in a tone of reproach.

Upon hearing this, the head that had been coiled around Sylvia withdrew, seeming to understand the message it had received.

"However, we can only grant you all of our power if you accept becoming our vessel."

"Yes, become our champion! We believe in your potential."

"Serving a god is far better than serving a mere human. Make the wiser choice."

"So, girl, which path will you choose?"

Once again, Sylvia was surrounded by countless voices eager to speak to her. It was nearly impossible to keep up, but she still managed to vaguely understand what they were saying.

Of course, she couldn’t grasp every detail, but the most important thing was clear: the creature wanted her to become its subordinate in some way.

Sylvia had no way of knowing exactly what it meant to be a vessel, but at the very least, she knew one thing: she had already chosen her master.

There was only one answer she could give at that moment. Wanting to avoid angering the terrifying being before her, she bowed respectfully and then spoke in a soft tone:

"Forgive me," she lifted her head, meeting the creature’s gaze with unwavering confidence, "I have already chosen my master."

Once again, the hundreds of heads grew restless, but this time, they chose not to attack the small girl. After all, the terrifying way Gilg stared at his aunt served as a reminder that they shouldn’t act recklessly.

"I see that you are brave, human," after another moment of internal discussion, one of the heads approached and spoke in a respectful tone.

"Perhaps too brave," another voice pointed out, sounding much more dissatisfied with Sylvia’s response.

"But we can do nothing but offer our advice. Your path is yours alone to guide, my descendant," the maternal-sounding head moved in close and said softly.

"Therefore, be prepared to reconsider your decision."

"Yes! I have no doubt you will regret it."

"There is no way a human could be better than us."

"Perhaps she will die before she even has the chance to regret it."

"Don’t say something so morbid!"

Suddenly, more and more heads joined the debate, making the conversation so chaotic that Sylvia didn’t even try to follow it.

As expected, after some time, the entity seemed to calm down, and finally, the hundreds of different voices stopped echoing in her mind, giving her a brief moment of rest.

"It looks like things are going well here, but I need to leave," Gilg suddenly said. "The other boy has finished his test, and besides, I’m quite busy. Aunt, please send Sylvia back once you’ve told her everything you need to."

After explaining this, Gilg gave a slight smile before vanishing, teleporting to where Davi lay, exhausted after completing his test.

It was precisely because Gilg had been occupied with saving Sylvia’s life that Davi had nearly died from having his life energy drained.

And after helping to send the boy back to the temple, Gilg hadn’t even had the chance to give him a reward before another problem arose.

Meanwhile, Sylvia remained in that ethereal plane, still surrounded by the countless heads, which were now speaking to her in a livelier manner, still attempting to convince her to become their vessel.

After spending so much time interacting with the being, she had begun to understand its insane flow of information better. Thanks to this, she managed to gather at least a few answers.

For example, she learned that becoming a vessel was essentially equivalent to being the representative of a god in the real world. After all, gods were bound to certain places where their immense power was confined.

By accepting to be a vessel, she would gain tremendous power, not the entity’s full strength, but enough to stand above almost any human.

That said, she would also become a subordinate to the god in question, who would not only be able to command her but could also take control of her body if it desired. Perhaps, it could even use her body as a catalyst to reincarnate at some point.

"But don’t worry, we would never do that!" another head added after noticing Sylvia’s clear displeasure at the thought of being used as a catalyst.

"Speak for yourself, I want to reincarnate!"

"Yes, it should be an honor for a human to be part of a god’s reincarnation."

"But that would kill her! We don’t want that!"

Sylvia merely smiled ironically. No matter what promises the creature made, she knew she could never truly trust it. This entity was not a singular being but rather a chaotic fusion of countless conflicting desires, all vying for dominance.

"Forgive me, but I will not change my answer," Sylvia declared once more, her voice even more resolute than before.

Upon hearing this, the heads surrounding her finally gave up trying to persuade her with their many different arguments. They could see it in her eyes, her decision was final.

"Then we are left with no choice but to offer you another reward," one of the heads said in a resigned tone.

Some seemed irritated by this, arguing that a reward was unnecessary, but they were quickly silenced by the majority, who had already made their decision clear.

"Don’t you think one of us could accompany her?" one of the heads suggested.

"And who would willingly submit to a mere human?" another responded in a sharp, cruel tone.

There was a brief debate, voices rising and falling in disagreement, until finally, a volunteer stepped forward.

"I will accompany you," an incredibly maternal voice declared.

One of the heads moved closer, its approach smooth and deliberate, before gently coiling around Sylvia with care.

Suddenly, its entire form began to glow, shrinking in size until it transformed into a sleek serpent, about three meters long and roughly the thickness of Sylvia’s arm.

"I will have to bite you," the snake explained softly. "It may hurt at first, but don’t worry."

Sylvia simply nodded, indicating that pain wasn’t something that concerned her.

Then, the creature opened its large mouth and sank its fangs into the girl’s neck. A searing pain instantly flooded Sylvia’s entire body. Then she fainted.

Shortly afterward, when the girl finally opened her eyes, she slowly opened them and found an extremely voluptuous, beautiful woman before her.

The girl with incredible curves seemed like the embodiment of a perfect milf, with truly impressive curves and an absolutely maternal smile.

"Where am I?" Sylvia asked, a bit confused. "Who are you?"

The perfect milf pretended to cry for a moment. "Don’t you remember me?" Then she flashed a playful smile and licked her lips. "Know that your blood is delicious, my descendant."

Finally, Sylvia realized that this woman was the snake that was supposedly following her.

"Your intuition is correct," the milf said. "I take this form because I believe it will be more pleasant for you, my mistress," the woman slowly bowed.

Sylvia simply smiled faintly. She didn’t have anything particularly against snakes, but she encouraged the woman to stay in that form because she believed Davi would love it.
