Rise of the Harem King
Chapter 40: The chaos

Chapter 40: The chaos

As soon as she saw the three students leave her office, Morrigan let out a soft sigh. She then brought her hand to her chest and took a moment to admire the room and all the objects within it.

"Master, I hope you’re well..." she sighed with a hint of sorrow.

Her gaze carried melancholy and fear, while her hands trembled slightly. It was rare to see her allow her emotions to show in such a way.

Perhaps because she was alone, she allowed herself a moment of vulnerability. However, she quickly pushed those thoughts aside.

As worried as she was, she had much to do. After all, before leaving, Amelia had entrusted her with an important mission.

Morrigan’s thoughts were interrupted by a firm knock on the door. Her heart skipped a beat, but she quickly straightened her posture, wiping any trace of emotion from her face.

"Come in," she said, her voice returning to its usual firm and controlled tone.

The door opened slowly, revealing Amanda. The stunning blonde wore a sleek black dress that clung to her like a second skin, accentuating every curve of her flawless figure. For that reason, at each arrogant step she gave approaching Morrigan, it was possible to see her huge ass shaking sensually.

And her proud breasts stud firm, with the firm fabric outlining her point and hard nipples, as she never wore any bra.

Her green eyes sparkled with mischief as they scanned the room, finally landing on Morrigan. Then her beautiful red lips molded on a mocking smile, as she gazed with arrogance to the woman beside her.

Her green eyes scanned Morrigan from head to toe as she closed the door with an unnecessarily slow motion.

"I see you’re still here, dragon-girl," she began, not a trace of respect in her voice.

Morrigan slightly furrowed her brows but remained impassive, ignoring Amanda’s provocative tone. She knew which battles were worth fighting, and this wasn’t one of them.

"May I know what brings you here?" she asked. The truth was that she was genuinely busy and wanted things to move along quickly.

Amanda chuckled softly, then sat on Morrigan’s desk, then she sensually crossed her legs, as her smile faded.

Unconcerned with Morrigan’s hurry, Amand calmly picked up a book from the table. She was simply curious because of the cover, and treating the room as if it were already hers, she began reading.

After a while, once her curiosity was satisfied, she looked up at Morrigan. "I’m just visiting my future workplace. Any problem with that?"

She deliberately rested her feet on the papers the woman had placed, casually placing them on an ancient book that always sat there. It was a powerful grimoire, an item Amelia had risked her life to retrieve during an expedition.

More than that, it was an important symbol of her prestige and success as an explorer. But in the absence of the powerful mage, the blonde seemed to have no respect for her legacy. And her arrogance had gone far enough.

"I didn’t know you had the gift of foresight," Morrigan commented, her false admiration laced with exquisite sarcasm. "In a month, if your premonitions prove correct and Amelia doesn’t return, I believe even the most discreet inhabitants of these walls, those with antennas and nocturnal habits, will celebrate the unexpected arrival of a soul so aligned with their own customs."

Amanda was genuinely confused by those words and took a few good seconds to realize she was being insulted. Indeed, a few years ago, there had been an incident where cockroaches were found living inside the walls of that place.

"Let’s see how long that confident smile of yours lasts!" the woman shouted, standing up as she prepared to leave. "Just accept it, there’s no way she’s coming back alive from that hell. No one could defeat that. It’s impossible."

"I’m sorry, but it’s not you who defines the realm of possibilities. That’s my master’s role. She’s already redefined the concept of what’s possible once, don’t you remember?"

Amanda’s smile faltered for a moment, but she quickly regained her composure. Indeed, many said that Amelia had forced the world to rethink what was possible and impossible to change. Still, there were things beyond what any human could handle alone. If she had help, it might be possible, but alone...

"Get ready to leave this office in a month," Amanda said, frustrated, as she left the room.

She had truly hoped the redhead would simply hand over the position to her, which obviously would never be the case.

As for Morrigan, she simply sighed, praying that Amelia was safe.

"I don’t need you as my assistant anymore," Luiz spat, as he tried to destroy the sword in his hands.

After failing, he tossed the object away in frustration. Without even looking back, he left the room. He claimed he was late for the coronation ceremony and didn’t have time for useless matters.

With that, Alexia was left behind, somewhat perplexed. She didn’t even know what to think in the face of such an absurd situation. But the undeniable reality was that the job she had dedicated her entire life to had been rejected.

While Alexia was paralyzed by the news, the other servants were in a frenzy. The news spread like wildfire, passed on by the maids who had witnessed that terrible scene.

Many considered resigning, fearing for the future of Luiz without Alexia by his side. Others, like Ana, thought about how to use the information.

By the way, the reason for Ana’s visit to Luis’s mansion was simple: she had learned that Zack intended to resign from his position, and wanted to confirm the information. After all, resigning was no simple procedure.

In the Belfort family, they didn’t accept traitors. So, if any of the clans or employees working for them wished to leave, the safest way was to stop serving one family member and begin serving another.

The other option was to do so in an unfriendly manner. However, this choice would lead to retaliation. And although they wouldn’t resort to murder in most cases, the Belforts had enough influence to make someone’s life a living hell.

Ana’s original purpose was to get close to Zack and bring him to Sophia’s side, but that plan wouldn’t work. The man had already made his plans and found a new patron: Amanda.

However, an even better opportunity presented itself to the girl at that moment. Ana promptly went to "console" the poor Alexia. Unfortunately, only part of her plan worked.

The girl quickly realized that the warrior would not be easy to manipulate and soon gave up on forging a friendship. Still, Alexia agreed to have a meeting with Sophia’s side.

After getting what she wanted, Ana soon left to deliver the shocking news to Sophia. Alexia, on the other hand, went to her room, where she stayed staring at the ceiling for a while, trying to decide her next step.

"What should I do now?" Alexia wondered. Although she had agreed to the invitation she received, her heart was indecisive. But deep down, she knew there was a possible answer.

The woman stared at the blade of her sword, the weapon that Luis had miserably failed to destroy. However, it wasn’t as if it were intact. While the blonde had caused no damage, the fight against Davi had left several scars.

Wasn’t he truly a man worthy of serving?

Alexia sighed for a moment, thinking about how her master was a lost cause. Perhaps, now that she was finally free, she should take this opportunity to seek out the best possible master.

It was at that moment that the girl remembered Ana had been part of Davi’s first team. Additionally, her spies had discovered that Sophia had ordered her secretaries to research about the boy. Maybe they knew more about him.... Suddenly, her heart raced, as if a new feeling had taken hold of her.

She couldn’t wait and gently asked one of the maids to prepare everything for her departure.

In no time, Alexia arrived at Sophia’s mansion much earlier than expected. But she simply couldn’t wait any longer.

"Good afternoon, miss. May I help you?" The doorman quickly approached to check on the unexpected visitor.

Alexia responded with a discreet but polite smile, nodding her head in respect. "Good afternoon. I’m Alexia, former knight of Luiz Belfort. I have a meeting scheduled with Mr. Carlos."

The doorman raised an eyebrow in a contained surprise but soon stepped back and opened the gate, leading her to the visiting room. Then, one of the maids quickly went to inform the head secretary about Alexia’s arrival.

In no time, there he was, dressed impeccably and acting like a true noble. Anyone looking at him at that moment would never believe he was the same man who had been crying profusely just hours ago because he had to spend some time away from his queen.

"Lady Alexia, welcome. Thank you for accepting our invitation."

"The gratitude is mine. It’s an honor to be received in this house."

The two engaged in the typical, polite small talk, exchanging a few compliments. Once the formalities were over, Carlos finally made his proposal more directly:

"As you may know, my lady has a great interest in exceptional talents. And I must say, your record as a knight is remarkable. Your loyalty to Mr. Luís was admirable, but we understand that sometimes new paths must be taken."

Alexia listened in silence, maintaining a serious expression. When Carlos finished, she smiled politely and declined the offer in the most formal way possible.

Carlos seemed surprised by this but did not insist. Since Alexia had been dismissed, she was free, and even if she didn’t want to serve any other member of the Belfort family, it was unlikely the family would create any issues over it.

Besides, considering how talented the woman was, the young man thought it would be best to maintain a friendly relationship. Perhaps in the future, they could invite her again.

"Just one more thing," Alexia said. "I heard you were getting close to the boy named Davi. Can you tell me more about him?"

Carlos’s mood immediately soured, and he quickly began to speak ill of that vulgar and failed man.

"You should be careful with him. In my research, I discovered he’s a complete pervert," the man warned.

He recounted that, as Alexia had seen, the man had kissed Lara. But apparently, he had also been seen kissing a woman named Luna in public. In addition, Ember had publicly announced being his girlfriend. So, he had played with the hearts of at least three ladies.

Omitting the fact that Sophia was also interested in him, Carlos continued his warning, "This guy is a seducer, a scoundrel with no talent. I imagine he goes after any woman he finds attractive."

With that, the two said their goodbyes.

Back at home, the girl immediately stood in front of a mirror and undressed. Her breasts were slightly larger than Ember’s, fitting firmly in her hand.

Additionally, her body had been sculpted by intense training. Her waist was perfectly slim, her hips wide, and her butt would draw a lot of attention if she wore tighter pants.

Many had also complimented her face, so in terms of appearance, she was likely above average. In fact, she could even be called beautiful.

"I think it’s going to work," she thought to herself.

Having a completely wrong view of what the boy would want, thanks to what she had heard from Carlos, she decided to use her body to attract him.

She put on a pair of tight pants that perfectly accentuated her bubble butt. Then, she chose the shirt with the deepest cleavage she owned. Finally, Alexia headed to Enki, determined to make Davi her new master.

After receiving Carlos’ valuable advice and wanting to stir the pot a little, Alexia ’innocently’ said:

"Would you accept me as your wife or servant? Don’t worry, I don’t mind extramarital affairs. I also promise to use all my skills to satisfy you in every way you desire."

This obviously attracted even more stares, and the scandal unfolding in the F rank classroom only grew.

At that point, the situation had completely spiraled out of control. Davi sighed deeply as he admired the audience around him.

His gaze then fell on Ember, who was already starting to argue with Sophia. He didn’t know when the argument had started, but things seemed to escalate quickly.

On the other hand, Lara kept staring at him with suspicion, which made him uncomfortable, so he wanted to clear things up as quickly as possible.

Luna was practically hidden behind his back. Meanwhile, Alexia wore a slight smile on her face, as if she enjoyed putting Davi in such a tough position.

Maybe it was her way of getting revenge for losing their last match.

The fact that he was indeed in a delicate situation at school, surrounded by enemies, and with an audience that wasn’t helping at all, made things even worse.

That said, luckily, chaotic situations like this were exactly the ones that brought out the best in that boy. And as he took a deep breath, he saw a clear path for the future form in his mind as he began to devise his plans.

And although he didn’t want to take the lead or draw attention at that moment, with no other options left, he finally took action.

"First, Sophia and Ember," he called both of them with a firm tone. "I will not join either of your teams," he stated firmly.

The boy didn’t do this to force some neutrality or anything like that. The truth was, he already had many problems to solve, and his plan to deal with them was a different one.

Of course, he could follow the advice Morrigan had given him and join an established group. Perhaps if he and Ember joined the Salamanders, he could rise in the internal rankings quickly with her help.

But he didn’t want to rely on others to protect him anymore. And if possible, he wanted to fight back against all those people who were standing in his way.

So that one day, he could finally defeat his father and be free of him.

So that he could achieve his dream of becoming the greatest explorer of all.

So that he could have the freedom to be a little crazy sometimes.

"I’m going to form my own exploration team. If you’re interested, you can join. Not just the two of you, but anyone listening, if you want, you can be part of the Usurpers." He seized the opportunity to make an announcement that would likely reach all the students in that place.

And the choice of name was no accident, as it was evident from the looks of everyone around. Davi had just reclaimed the name of a legendary team once formed by a very ambitious group of men who briefly reached the top before being disbanded and falling into disgrace.

Even Luna lost her complacent smile, her eyes showing a hint of surprise. But she quickly sighed, accepting that absurdity was to be expected from her man.
