Chapter 134: The Outer Castle [2]
"I gotta admit apart from your talent in swordsmanship, caring personality. You’re also a good cook I can’t even imagine that all of what we’re eating is a bunch of lower-level monster meat. How did you even make it taste so good," Jena’s eyes were sparkling after she takes a piece of meat cooked by their newly gained ally
"Oh shucks your making me blush, you know what they say. If someone put their whole heart into a meal no matter what it may be, it will turn out to be delicious. Speaking of which do you want another one? I have a ton of orc meat that’s about to go bad, im pretty lucky that all of this good food won’t be wasted and I even received a compliment," At this very moment he was disgusted with how easy it was to fool anyone with just a few alterations to his personality. Yet nobody knew that their food was spiked with a potent sleeping drug that made them feel drowsy by the second they took another bite of his delectable meat
Soon they would fall into a deep slumber where not even an explosion would make them rise from their bed. Without even batting an eye after they ate his food, he continued with his plans to search the area around their location. Leaving the three in the care of his familiar even placed a seal that projected a barrier that’ll set off an alarm once it was destroyed
[It’s pretty great that you’ve been affectionate to these temporary tools that you’ve picked along the way. Are you going to invite them to your little army after your finish killing that player that’s after your life?]
"What kind of person would I be if I don’t seal my temporary tools in a protective case? If you want to make good use of them, the first step is to make sure they won’t get damaged earlier than the time you’ve bought them. Plus I hardly think that they could do anything without my protection even if they’re good with their teamwork. That’ll only work if you still have a team to rely on, mediocre at best would’ve died if I didn’t join them,"
[I see, maintenance is also a step in one of the most basic knowledge for a person that wields a ton of tools. Well, I don’t have any opposition to your schemes but how are you going to protect yourself without any help from your familiars? This is the 2nd trial were talking about its not going to be as easy as the first one if you were to take any kind of damage you don’t have tool b to procure you some potions]
"I should’ve brought along tool b, but I already knew a possibility where that killer would strike my allies first. So I didn’t think about sending anyone on this mission that I have, but then again isn’t it fun? It’s been a long time since you haven’t seen me fight the way I do, so this night will be our little break," Donning his armor that he requested from Agni with a yellow outline accompanied by its elasticity. Making it easier for anyone to move even with its feature that made it hard for anyone to move
[Rising Knight set - A set of equipment that consist of 4 pieces such as chainmail, breastplate, and two pairs of gauntlets. It was obtained in a hellish trial that took countless lives for it to be cleared. It was foretold that once all of the pieces have been obtained it will give the bearer the qualities of a knight
Rarity: Rare
Hp: 56
Atk: 42
Def: 38
Mp: 29
Added traits: Elasticity - The armor can bend with the wielder’s body making it easy for anyone to move freely even though its designs say otherwise
4/4 set effect: Way of the knight - This skill will allow the wielder to gain the power of a knight. Upon using it the armor will enter a cooldown phase making the player wait for 15 days before its next use]
[It suits you, I guess you know a thing or two about choosing your gear, it’s not as bad as your old gear right?]
"I’ll need to earn some merit if I want to catch that killer and what other way, can you obtain it, without the use of systems broadcasting functions? It’s easy to say that I’ll be helping a few players out and making them spread my name in the world of trials. If I started another broadcasting it will be on Spell thief’s account making it known to everyone about my identity," After he made his preparations to scout his surroundings he notices after he left their camp he was given a better understanding of their current location. The smell of blood wasn’t hidden even after being buried in the snow, he never once had a whiff of the obnoxious odor that was being emitted from the monster
Accompanied by the corpses of a ton of players lying around the very ground he was stepping into he found himself to be surrounded by a ton of bloodthirsty players. They didn’t even intend to hide their desires they only increased their killing intent in hopes of scaring him until he could move
"What a lucky break! To think we would encounter such a player within this place. Arent, you lost or something? This is a terrible place to farm some experience points, Mr. Knight I suggest that you don’t spout that justice nonsense you carry, since it won’t help you in this situation," Was it money? Weaponry or equipment he didn’t ask them about their reasons for targeting him. Unfortunately, his face isn’t filled with fear, rather he was smiling as big as it could stretch his face, this blonde-haired player was not as simple as they had assumed. With only a single step toward his location, they could feel his suffocating aura that even with their combined killing intent wouldn’t compare
[System: You’re continually leaking your mana filled with your killing intent, any player or living thing that would come in contact. Would feel the wrath that belongs to the player Christopher Morris making them see a ton of possible deaths that you can inflict]
"This is just a trick! Snap out of it all of you!! There’s no way such a player could hold such power within this stage of the trials. This is nothing but an illusion to scare us off, attack that bastard and make sure he suffers from making a fool of us!!!" Greedy as ever these players that attacked him didn’t even think and only followed the command of their superiors. Yet he doesn’t care about their well being in fact, having them attack him without anyone turning back after he showed his killing intent was a gift. He hacks away at their bodies his staff changed into a lance that he uses to puncture their bodies until they were filled with holes
"Don’t get so cocky you arrogant knight~" One of the players attacked him at his blind spot, thinking that he didn’t have any movies to counter. He was mistaken, before he could drive his sword a mana-empowered kick strikes him at his ribs knocking him to the cold ground while the others notice his chest was flattened with a single kick. Even their superior was scared of what might occur in the next second they have with their lives, which were blown away after he struck his lance to the depths of the ground
[System: The player Christopher Morris has activated the skill Interchangeable Cromwell arts, Upward repulsion. This technique will inject a ton of mana that will launch anyone into the air, depending on how much the injected mana was. Will differ the results of the repulsed target that was caught in the attack]
In the outer castle wall where a bunch of players requires to traverse the tall and dangerous terrains. Along with the monsters that inhabit the land, their biggest threat wasn’t those two that were mentioned but the players that made use of their situation. Whether it was stealing, or an easy way to level up, in this part of the castle walls they gather as a group. Use their numbers to kill any visitors that would enter, making it simple yet the most known death for anyone to experience
[System: You’ve killed a player known for their heinous deeds, an extra amount of experience points for ending their lives]
[Player killers? So that’s the reason why we haven’t come across a to of players within this area. It was all of their doing, what do you intend to do? If they’re not worth our time we can just go back to our camp, I haven’t felt any disturbance within your connection with your families. Along with the seal you’ve placed hasn’t been touched]
"Please... don’t kill... me!" The player that threatened him a while back survived the fall created by his skill. He immediately pointed his lance without any hesitation
"Why should I spare you?" He poured a small ounce of healing potion that recovered his injuries, only for his mercy to be returned with an attempt to stab him in his chest
"Bluargh!!! What’s happening to my body!?" Before his weapon was to reach his body the other effects of the potion soon took over his body. Giving an elevated heart, rate an unbreakable rash, and a pain that courses through his body that felt like it was being torn to pieces. Along with a smile that was seen on Zen’s face that was laughing at his desperation to survive
"This is the reason why I made this, I call this creation of mine "Killer heal" a substance filled with healing factors. Mixed with a lot of slow-killing poison that will make your body suffer from the inside out, for a while longer you might find yourself developing a thirst for your flesh. Now tell me where’s your base? And I’ll give you the antidote," He waves a flask within his disabled enemy after he felt his legs to have numb
"I’ll tell you everything please arrrgh!" He screamed after he felt his condition getting worse as time passes making him spill every secret he has to offer
[A gathering of the most popular smugglers, hoarders, and lastly killers. It’s like a party for the criminally insane people of the world of trials. Don’t tell me we’re going to that area? It’s pretty far from our camp]
"I’ve already placed a scroll so it’s not gonna be a problem if we took our time, now here you go, buddy. Now our deal with each other is over as long as you don’t piss me off im not gonna kill you," After the player took the medicine and the effect of his poison would disappear he tried to kill him again only for his body to suffer another one of his poison
"Why!!?"
"I just did a little trolling do you think I’ll believe you after you tried to kill me in the first place? I was about to give you the cure for that if I saw you walk away without even pulling your sword. Tsk, tsk, tsk you can’t learn your lesson so how about I do this," The crippled players that he was associated with were healed fixing their broken bones the only exchange for their immediaye treatment was their thirst for human flesh
"Don’t come into my body, I beg of you give me another chance I’ll gladly even serve you~ Agghhgggggg!!!" That would only attack the player that was emitting an odor that made the cannibalistic players devour him without any sense of stopping
Without anything in his way, he followed the map he acquired from the player before he sets off on a new journey
