Chapter 123: Bond
Chapter 123: Bond
Well, you’ve thought about I’ll do my best and find the trigger right? That’s not gonna happened I have a ton of tools at my disposal. Let them handle it, it’s not like they’re facing an existential threat compared to me and most of my solo adventures. They can handle a few days without my help, and this day marks the first time being in a book club
"I don’t get it Hyunsu why does everyone gets sow art when they use spaghetti for the first time like bruh? It’s noodles placed on top of some meat and tomato sauces it’s not gonna kill but I admit, I haven’t seen a lot of noodle-related food in this place so I think their reactions are normal. More importantly, can I ask why the fuck did you interrupt my relaxing day off?" He notices Hyunsu’s short pause when he asked for his reasons for being interrupted during his day off. Yet he couldn’t say a single thing and only pointed at the door within his right, without any warning he was dragged into a pitch black room. Before a light source would reveal a place where he was greeted by his readers alongside his friend within the mix
"Senior spell your finally here in the flesh... Ohohoh so this is what you look like I thought you would have a scar on your face. I never thought you’d have such a face no! Wait a minute I remember your skin to be less pale than before did you change since the time we met you?" Yuuko pounced on him with her small body before she was taken away by their vice leader
[Intermediate Cult member: Kang Sei Yeoung
Standing: Vice leader of hyunsu’s team
Traits: Confident, Courageous, Reliable
Class: Cleric
Weapons: Staff]
"Sorry about that senior she had too much to drink so don’t mind anything that came out of her mouth. Ahem well considering that the rest are busy chatting with one another, would you happen tk be hungry? We’ve brought a lot of processed meat along our journey so feel free to place it near the grill for me to cook," The room was just a normal setup to a regular booth along with the presence of a fee other transmigraters. It felt like he came back to earth for a short time before he stopped recollecting his past life and headed to the others sitting at the table where they talk about their previous life
"So Hyunsu was once an office lackey you weren’t even earning a ton and yet you’ve read the whole thing your entire life. If you’re 25 now that means you’ve been reading it till you’re a teenager? That’s a lot of dedication for someone who doesn’t even get his promotion even after working for a company for 5 whole years," Grey laughed at his shortcoming while he on the other hand was a college drop out that wasn’t able to get a full-time job until he reached the age of 23
"I remember every scene that occurred within the book on the back of my hand, every volume arc, and even the twist the author made. Now that I’ve thought about it, what’s your relation with the author, Morris nim?" Their gazes would be fixed on his location after one of them asked him about the most sought-after mystery to be known
"I met him at the Lucid novel discord, I remember meeting him in the year 2020 when he just started publishing his first Chapter. You might not know of this but that thing got a lot of changes over the year, too many errors and stuff alike. Apart from giving him a few ideas to add to his story before it became the World Of Trials a lot of people came to love/hate it. He didn’t care a single bit and continued writing a new Chapter after he recently published a Chapter,"
"You write novels as well?" Xiao Fen asked after he stood within the crowd after he hasn’t spoken a single word upon their arrival
"Senior spell writing a novel? Now that makes it perfectly aligned with my theory, writers tend to have a creative mind. Something that a mage would require to cast such a complex spell along with connecting it to a different variety. Sorry about that this meeting was for us to talk about normal things and not the World Of Trials, do continue senior. What kind of book are you writing," Quinton passes on the pitch filled with the beer they brought along their trip to his side of the table
He was anxious if he would answer their questions until Jin gave him a gesture that made him relaxed after knowing most of them had been affected by their drink
"It’s not anything special in terms of world-building or anything like that, im just using its current situation for a story I came up with. A story about a transmigrater that was transported in his favorite book (Creation) and found himself to be weak. Even amongst the average player, he was the weakest a bottom tier character with trash tier stats to boot," He gave them an outline of the story he created and slowly he opened up and relax his stressful body. After he found himself with a ton of things for him to handle without any kind of pause in his duty
"Weak mc? I never thought I’d heard that kind of genre in the year 2030, also known as the rise of the overpowered genre. That type of thing wasn’t that appealing in the year 2020, what a horrible fate the author had suffered. If only he published his book within 2030 before it was labeled as a waste of time to one of the most popular readers that dissed that book. Then the author would’ve hit it big without a sweat heck I can even say he’ll get an adaptation," Sei Yeoung place their food that was grilled within the range of perfection, not too hot or too burnt. Just the right amount of heat along with its juiciness after they took their first bite. Seconds became minutes until it became an hour and the rest were all drunk until they could no longer move their muscle or have their visions comparable to a normal person
"I thought I’ll see you here, you always like to hang on the rooftop after the rest would be asleep," Within the edge, he gazes at the glimmering stars above their head, while the rest of his teammates were on their way. After they reported finding a clue that triggered the arrival of the mission
"You caught me... You always do it’s like you know my every move I can’t even hide anything from you Jin," Morris reclined on the roof and remained to gaze within the stars within the trials
"What did you expect by the time my food tray hit that guy’s head 16 no 17 years ago I forgot that December has passed since our arrival. This makes you officially 30 congratulations on being able to make it this far, I thought you would’ve slit your wrist once you have the chance. But no I was wrong I thought you wouldn’t be able to stand alone once you’ve found someone to rely on, im proud of you," He said when he notices him hesitate to utter a word for a moment, not sure whether to was the right time to talk about that topic. He retrieved his tongue and shuts off his mouth like he never even thought of responding to his conversation
’This is a strange thing to occur? I’ve never seen him so serious, and silent at that I wonder what he’s thinking about,’
"Hey what’s wrong with I know your having a problem when youre that quiet, come on speak up im all ears~"
"Why did you come for me?" His tone suddenly changed from his regular voice which was filled with a grumpy and irritated tone that was nowhere to be seen. A clear tone without any stuttering nor any special features placed would arise from his mouth
"What do you mean by that? Are you drunk I did tell you to go easy on that booze it has a lot of alcohol content,"
"Why? I can’t understand how your noggin works after I smashed a lamp in your head. We did have a similar fight and the two of us ended up being hospitalized for a while we even manage to make up. I just can’t read your mind like how you could read mine, why would you waste your time with a prick like me instead of living the life that could be fulfilled by this world?"
"Let me ask you this do you think I saved you back when the two of us met?" Jin joined his little activity to gaze at the artificial stars created by the system. While he takes a few sips of the wine he brought during his stroll to the rooftop
"Yes, I’m sure that you did... What could be any other answer than that?" Morris grabbed the bottle from his hands after he notices the irregular movements that would’ve resulted in him dropping such a fine wine to be wasted on the roof
"Well, your wrong as always, back then I always wanted to correct the things I deemed to be wrong it’s not much of a guess that I became a delinquent. I’ve fought a few students higher than my own and defended anyone that we’re within their grasp. I never would’ve thought that I’ll become the thing that I wanted to correct, the damages already made my reputation get worse even though I helped a lot of people. Before I knew it I was alone, even if I didn’t stand up to those punks that picked on you, I could see it in your eyes a burning passion that wasn’t able to be snuffed out by anyone that came in your way,"
"You are drunk, you are never nice to me, and I remember I was the one that tried to be your friend. After that, when you complimented my book even with all of the typos I created along the way,"
"Well, yes, you were the one that approach me I came up with a few ways for you to be scared but it only backfired. Well the only difference between the two of us is that you still have that fire within you a flame that can’t be snuffed no matter what came in your way. A light that never once dwindle and kept growing alongside your body, you might be weak as fuck when it comes to fighting. But your will burns like a scorching flame that keeps growing like a wildfire, I could say we were the opposite of one another, both sides of the same coin," After he said those words he notices a change in Morris’s behavior and later bursts out of laughter from the things he said
"Hahahahaha, oh God that’s pretty cheesy Jin, don’t say anymore or else it would be a cringe-fest over here. Wait no stop don’t say anymore... Bla, bla, bla im not listening," The two of them were different yet they share the same burden alone and different from the others within their reach. They only relied on each other’s company they have something the other does not possess, an unbreakable bond that was formed by a simple need for the other’s strength
