Return Of The Supreme Beast Tamer
Chapter 170: UNDEAD!

Chapter 170: UNDEAD!

The figure withdrew its leg, turned, and walked away. "You have your first mission... Take some undead, and make sure you succeed." Leon rose, bowing his head in understanding.

___

[Hundreds of miles from Cordelia Border.]

VOOM!!

Philip dismounted the armored vehicle he was in. He strode toward the small settlement before him, twenty armed soldiers following close behind. The group halted in front of the worn-out wooden gate.

"Open the gate! We are here for inspection!" Tony yelled, his voice cutting through the silence.

Silence. Not a sound, not a soul visible on the watch.

He glanced over his shoulder at his soldiers and yelled again.

"We are Cordelia Military Force! Open up!"

Still, only silence. No reply from within, and the watch remained deserted.

"Something isn’t right," he muttered to himself, waving a finger at his soldiers. "Surround the building. If anyone attacks you, fire at will."

The twenty men nodded. Fourteen split into two groups of seven, moving to encircle the settlement, while Philip and the remaining six advanced toward the gate.

"Stay alert." Philip placed his hand on the door, and to his surprise, it was unlocked. He pushed the massive wooden gate open with one hand, revealing an empty street. The small houses and tents stood completely vacant, like a ghost town.

"Stay beside one another, no wandering around," he instructed, stepping inside, followed by his six men.

__

Philip stopped at the center of the settlement, utterly confused by the complete absence of people. He looked around, puzzled.

’There were a total of 1,000 people here last two months; they should be more now, right?’

GROWL!

His head and those of his six soldiers snapped toward a nearby house, a faint growling sound emanating from within.

"Stay alert." He drew his Desert Eagle, silently approaching the house, his six soldiers following, their guns raised and ready.

Philip paused beside the door, placing his hand on the doorknob, then used his eyes to give his men instructions. They nodded, positioning themselves ten feet from the door, weapons aimed at the house.

Philip whispered the countdown: "Three. Two. One."

He flung the door wide open, and the men froze, staring at the scene inside. Seeing their expressions, Philip looked into the room, his eyes widening at the sight of a young girl, no older than ten, feeding on an older woman, clearly her mother.

".....?!"

He was flabbergasted.

Hearing the noise, the girl turned, her face and body smeared with blood and flesh.

"What the fuck!" he muttered to himself.

"HISSS!"

The girl hissed, then lunged toward him.

BAM!

Philip blew her head apart with a single bullet, watching her body drop dead to the ground.

"What is happening?" one of the soldiers asked, bewildered.

"Can’t you see that! She is dead!!" another exclaimed.

"Do you think she is a zombie?!" the third added, his voice laced with fear.

"Shut up!! Zombies are not real! She might have been possessed," Philip snapped, trying to rationalize what he had just witnessed.

CRACK!

"...?!"

He and the soldiers were stunned as the woman’s body began to crack, and before their very eyes, she stood up.

"....?!"

Philip raised his gun, but before he could open fire, a volley of gunshots caught their attention.

RA-TA-TA-TA-TA-TA-TA-TA-TA!!!

He opened fire, bursting the woman’s head, then spun towards the sound of the gunshots, seeing five of his men rushing toward them—the same men who had gone to surround the settlement.

BOOOM!

BOOOOM!!

BOOOM!!

He and the soldiers looked around them, seeing more zombies and undead bursting out from the houses. In less than ten seconds, over a thousand undead had surrounded them.

"No way! They are zombies!" a soldier yelled, the realization dawning on him.

Philip watched as the five men stopped before him, their faces etched with terror.

"We need to get out from here, Vice Commander!!" one of them screamed.

"What about the others?!" Philip demanded, frowning.

"All dead!! These things came out from nowhere, we are the only ones!!" another soldier gasped.

"Out of seventeen of you! You five are the only ones?!" Philip was flabbergasted.

"Fire!!" a soldier yelled as the undead surged toward them.

RA-TA-TA-TA-TA-TA-TA-TA!!!!!

They all opened fire, mowing down the zombies, but more just kept rushing in, an endless tide.

"Summon your beasts!! We are rushing out from the settlement!" Philip finally ordered.

The soldiers nodded, quickly yelling: "Come out!!!"

Countless lights burst forth from their rings, taking the form of huge, powerful beasts. The twelve men quickly mounted their beasts, which charged out of the settlement.

BOOOOM!

They shattered the gate open, and stopped before their vehicles. The fifteen quickly dismounted and jumped into their cars.

Philip sat in the front passenger seat, staring as the undead raced toward the shattered gate.

"Ultimate attack!" he commanded. The soldiers promptly ordered their beasts, which unleashed their ultimate attacks, engulfing the entire settlement in flames.

"Vice Commander, what should we do?" the driver beside him asked.

Philip picked up the walkie-talkie in the vehicle and asked, "Was any of you bit?"

"Alpha cleaned."

"Bravo in check."

"Charlie good!"

He nodded at their responses, then frowned, seeing a dark silhouette walking toward them, emerging right out from the flames. He quickly yelled: "Everyone!! Retreat!! At full speed!!"

The vehicles roared to life, accelerating away with incredible speed, the beasts following close behind.

THUD!

THUD!

A huge hand smashed into the ground, cracking it as a skeletal dragon lumbered out of the flames. Leon stood on its head, staring into the distance at the rapidly disappearing vehicles.

"This is just a tester... Once we get our undead inside Cordelia, we will watch as your city gets destroyed from inside out," he muttered coldly.

"Then I will have my revenge on Christopher and the Vitality Academy! I will make sure not even an ash is left." He waved his hand. The huge skeletal dragon spread its bony wings and soared into the air, flying away.

[In the Vehicle.]

"Vice Commander! Why are you sweating?" the driver asked in mild confusion.

"That... That energy. That was a Sky Stage Beast..." Philip said, his voice strained, while the soldiers’ eyes widened in mild horror.

"What... What should we do now?! If those things get into the country."

"They won’t!" He picked up the phone and gave an instruction, his tone deadly serious.

"No one should know of what happened here! No one!! This will only cause panic, and none of us wants that! When we get back, we will report to the commander, he will know what to do! To keep everyone safe, we will increase our security to the fullest!! Not even a fly must enter!"

"Yes!!!"

The three teams yelled in unison.

Philip exhaled:

’I must find a way to keep the country safe, no matter what! These monsters must not enter Cordelia,’ he thought.

[5:30 PM. Christopher’s Personal House.]

Christopher sat before Michael, Murphy, Chaya, Sunny, Xing, and Phoenix, staring at them in confusion. When he discovered they were all in the competition, he had sent a message to every single one of them to meet at his house.

He sat at the head of the table, observing the six individuals before him.

"Now... Who wants to start?" he asked.

The six looked at one another, and Sunny opened his mouth. "I came to Cordelia not just for the competition, but to tell you what’s happening."

Christopher nodded. "Go on," he urged.

"Master... I destroyed the Shadow Organization, but it seems the Golden Organization has a new leader."

"I know that," Christopher stated.

"Yes... But this new leader has the power to control the dead."

"Wait! Wait! Wait!!" Michael interrupted them, turning to Christopher.

"Did... Did Sir Sunny just call you Master?! Are you also the Master of the Five Beast Kings?!!!" he asked in mild horror.

"Correct." Christopher nodded with a small smile and gestured for Sunny to continue.

Although confused, Michael didn’t say anything, but sat there, listening intently.

"When I met this boss! She raised the dead... How would I put this?" Sunny pondered.

"Like zombies?!" Xing asked, turning to Sunny.

"Well... yes, zombies," Sunny confirmed.

"Hmm... Are they difficult to deal with?" Christopher inquired.

"No... They only have the strength of Elite Level... Even though when alive, they are Master Levels... Once he or she turned them to undead, their powers will decrease to Elite Level," Sunny explained.

"Hmmm..." Christopher thought for a few seconds and then asked.

"Any idea about their location?"

"No... I searched everywhere! I think the Master must be the only one that can track them," Xing said, staring at Christopher.

"Okay... We now know this new leader deals with undead, and can also raise the dead..." He turned to Sunny. "This person hid his powers, making you think he or she can only raise an Elite Level Undead." He said.

’That is the only explanation, this is definitely the Darkness Spirit doing... It seems you must get stronger faster. My disciple, you must use the Life Force Tide to get stronger... This is your only opportunity!’ Tiamat said seriously.

Christopher frowned. He had never heard Tiamat sound this serious... But now, they had two powerful enemies: the Darkness Spirit and Darkness itself. He moved his gaze across the group and nodded.

"Michael, Murphy, and Chaya, don’t let any of this trouble you, enjoy your life." He turned to Sunny, Phoenix, and Xing.

"Send word, the other Beast Kings must get to Cordelia in three days! And it’s time to reactivate the Beast Army."
