Return Of The Supreme Beast Tamer
Chapter 156: Academy competition 2

Chapter 156: Academy competition 2

Katherine stood by the storage room door, two bags in hand, a picture of calm as Chloe approached, a confused frown marring her face. "Katherine... Why are you standing at the storage door, while everyone is at the arena?" Chloe asked.

"Oh... Just waiting for my brother, he said he will walk out from this door," Katherine replied, unperturbed by the absurdity of her statement.

Chloe stopped in front of her, her gaze drifting to the door. "From there?" she asked, clearly puzzled. Katherine simply nodded.

With a deep frown, Chloe walked to the door, opened it, and peered into the empty storage room. She closed it again and turned back to Katherine. "No one is in there... How the hell will someone walk out from an empty roo---"

CLICK!

Both girls flinched, eyes wide as the doorknob rotated on its own and the door swung open.

"Brother!" Katherine exclaimed, a wide smile spreading across her face.

Christopher and Advika stepped out of the room, Advika looking around in mild confusion. "We are in the academy?" she asked.

"You... How... I... I checked!! There was no one in there... Then how?!" Chloe stammered, unable to form a coherent sentence.

"I told you, Chloe... My big brother is one of a kind!" Katherine chirped, handing the bags to Christopher and Advika. "Your uniforms! You can both get ready! We will be waiting at the arena."

Katherine grabbed Chloe’s wrist and began pulling her away. "Wait! I have to know how! That room was empty!" Chloe pleaded.

"Not now! Later!" Katherine called back, dragging her friend along.

Christopher and Advika watched them go, shaking their heads with faint smiles.

"Okay... Get ready, we will meet at the entrance in exactly three minutes," Christopher said, then turned and walked away.

Advika watched him for a moment, then exhaled softly. "Thank you again." She turned and left.

____

Katherine pulled Chloe to their seats in the arena and sat down beside her.

"Now, the serious matter!" Chloe declared, turning to Katherine. "You sensed it, right?"

"Yeah... Advika is now an Elite level tamer... I thought my brother and I were the only ones who broke through during these two days," Katherine mused.

"Yeah... I’m stuck at the legendary level, but I’ll get past it," Chloe replied, then asked, "What about Christopher? I can’t sense his life force."

"I also can’t sense it... All I know is, my elder brother’s strength is beyond our understanding. I know you’ve seen an example of that."

Chloe fell silent, her gaze drifting to the arena. "Let’s just wait and see," she said.

___

"Come on, why are you silent?" The Dean of Guardian Academy sneered, adding, "Or he’s too scared to stand at the arena? Why wouldn’t he be, with those felons there, who wouldn’t be." A smirk played on his lips.

"You!!" Howard stopped himself, exhaled, and then said, "Just you wait and see how my students wipe that smirk off your face." He leaned back in his seat.

"Where are Christopher and Advika?" he whispered.

"I don’t know... But Adonis said Christopher is out training... I don’t know if he’s back," Monica answered, then asked, "Do you think he made any progress?"

"We’ll find out sooner or later," Howard said softly.

____

Across from Howard and the Deans sat the leaders of the Baltimore Continent. The woman to whom the Announcer had bowed to, looked over her shoulder at Commander Zenith.

"How is the situation with the half-celestial stage beast?" she asked in a low voice.

"As for the moment, Governor, the countries of Xavier are still engaging the Beast!"

"And it is still standing?" she asked in surprise.

Zenith nodded slowly, her expression grim. "Two missiles were launched, and none could scratch its skin... A half-celestial stage beast is beyond our weapons. We need power skills, tamers, awakeners, and beasts."

"That is right... And with me here, we will have some," an old man with a brown beard said, his eyes fixed on the arena.

"General... Any news about the sky stage Beast?" The governor turned to the man.

"No news... But there is a situation in the northern region of Cordelia Borders."

The governor and Zenith frowned at his words. "What situation?" she asked, her brow furrowed.

"I don’t know myself, but some villagers in a small settlement have been acting weird for the past two days, so I sent Phillip and some of the troops to take a look," he said, adding, "Don’t be so worked up; they are just humans consisting of 50 people at most. Phillip will handle it and report back." He turned to the governor.

"Phew."

She sighed in relief. "If you say so, I won’t worry." The governor nodded, then turned her gaze to the arena, asking, "What about the Vitality Academy? Are they sending only two students?"

"I also don’t know, let’s see what they are planning," the general stated.

____

"It seems we are short of a few people here," the announcer said, observing Mitchell and Mariana, who exchanged confused glances.

"You guys are so arrogant! Keeping the whole competition on hold!" Zack scoffed, his voice echoing through the arena.

"Yes... Insufficient members will only lead to disqualification... Why are you two even standing here?" Tori asked coldly, arms crossed.

"You!! Do you think you can face me!!" Mariana spat.

"Oh? You want to challenge me? Sorry, you are too insufficient," Tori provoked.

"I am insufficient?! Then what are you?! A blackened ant who only knows how to betray their own country for power!"

".....?!"

The announcer and the audience were stunned. Before the two girls could tear each other apart, Tony interjected, "Enough, Sister... There is only a minute left. If they aren’t here, the Vitality Academy will instantly be disqualified... That is the ironclad rule." His blue eyes were fixed on the two.

Tori smirked at Mariana. "We will see who is more arrogant after you are disqualified."

WHOOSH!!

A wave of flame shot from the distance and slammed right in front of the twins.

BOOOM!

".....?!!"

They recoiled in surprise and shock; even the audience was speechless.

Everyone turned their heads to the entrance, watching Christopher and Advika walk towards their team. Advika’s hand was completely enveloped in flames, her expression cold.

"Speak with respect," she hissed, stopping beside Mariana.

"You!!" Tori was enraged and turned to the announcer. "She attacked us before the competition!!"

"Actually... She attacked the ground," the announcer said, pointing at the scorched earth.

"....?!!!!!!"

Tori was flabbergasted, utterly stunned.

"Calm down, Tori... Something isn’t right here," Tony whispered, his gaze fixed on Christopher.

"What happened, brother?" Tori asked in surprise; her brother had never been this serious.

"That guy? Is he Christopher?" Tony asked.

"Yeah... The eldest son of the Valhalla family," Zack answered.

"Be careful, I don’t know who will face him, but you must all be careful... The life force emanating from him is beyond those three behind him combined," he said, his tone grave.

The other three nodded as the announcer yelled, "Okay everyone!!! The competition starts now!!!"

The teams looked up as five small birds flew down from the platform where the Announcer stood, small baskets in their talons. They watched as each bird flew towards a team.

"Take a paper from the basket! One each!!" he yelled.

They all nodded and picked a paper each. The announcer continued, "The first round is a one-vs-one battle!! And ten of you will be eliminated!!! Once you lose or surrender! You are out!!"

He smiled. "The winners will gain 1,000 points! Meaning, if your team won all their battles, your team gained 4,000 points!! If you lose!! No point will be given!!"

He pressed a button beside him, and the arena trembled. Before their eyes, a huge stage rose from the ground, standing two feet above the field.

"Anyone who falls from the stage loses! Anyone who surrenders loses! Anyone who faints loses! Note!! You can’t kill anyone! If that happens, your team will instantly be disqualified!! You will be picking your opponent, so it will be fair!! Let the competition begin!!!"

Everyone watched intently as the teams picked their papers and slowly opened them. Advika glanced at the number 4 on hers, her gaze sweeping over the other teams until it landed on someone from Blackwood, the fifth country.

Christopher looked at his paper, seeing the number 1.

Zack opened his, revealing the number 3. Each person in every team opened their paper, displaying a range of numbers from 1 to 10.

"Okay!!" The announcer’s voice boomed. "Number 1!! Please get on the stage!!!"

All eyes turned to Christopher as he took a step forward, his expression flat, and began walking toward the stage.

"Wow!! That is Christopher!!"

"Go Master Christopher!!"

"You can do it!!"

Students from Vitality Academy erupted in cheers as Christopher ascended the stage.

"So that is Christopher," the Dean of Guardian Academy murmured to himself. "Who is his opponent?" he wondered.

"Go Brother! One strike!!" Adonis yelled from his seat, a confident grin on his face.

"One strike?" Adrian raised an eyebrow in surprise, a hint of skepticism in his tone.

The crowd watched as a muscular man, standing an imposing 7’5 feet tall, walked forward. He climbed onto the stage, a colossal figure that cast a long shadow, completely blocking the sunlight from Christopher’s face.

"...?!"

A hush fell over the arena, stunned.
