Return Of The Supreme Beast Tamer
Chapter 145: Seat Belt

Chapter 145: Seat Belt

"Advika, this is a fire book... It has two fire skills in it, try to Master it." He said, handing her the book. Its cover felt warm to the touch.

Advika took it, her face filled with surprise and wonder. Mastering elemental skills was a rare and powerful feat to any tamer.

"Mariana, this is a wind book... There are two wind skills in here, make sure to master it."

The book shimmered with a faint, almost imperceptible breeze, as she touched it.

Mariana nodded, her eyes wide as she took the book.

"Mitchell, this is a darkness book... There are two darkness skills in it, try to Master them." He said handling Mitchell the black, almost light-absorbing book.

"Darkness skills were often misunderstood, but held immense potential for utility and combat." The Dean added.

"Thank you, Dean." Mitchell said, holding the book carefully, a newfound determination in his eyes.

The Dean nodded and walked to Christopher, handing him a vibrant, multi-colored book.

"This is a multi-element book, try to Master the two skills in it."

’Multi-element?’ Christopher was stunned. Such books were exceptionally rare, requiring a unique affinity and immense talent to even attempt to master. He still took it, his grip firm.

"Thank you," he said, a quiet resolve in his voice.

"You guys must learn at least one of the skills before the academy competition... No matter what happens, we must win." The Dean said, his voice firm and unwavering. The urgency in his tone was palpable.

"We will!" The four responded in unison, a shared sense of purpose uniting them.

They gave a small, respectful bow at him.

"You all can leave." The Dean said with a wave of his hand, dismissing them.

The four nodded, and walked out from the office, the weight of their new responsibilities settling upon them.

[Outside the Academy Gate.]

Christopher and Advika walked out of the Dean’s office, heading straight for the academy gate, while Mitchell and Mariana stared at them for some seconds, exchanging a glance of mutual understanding, then separated, going their own way.

"Take this." Christopher tossed a small, velvet bag towards Advika...

...Not expecting the sudden action, she was a bit clumsy, but still caught it, her fingers fumbling around the soft material.

With a relief sigh, she turned to Christopher, her eyes filled with confusion. "What is this?" she asked.

"The academy competition is only two days away. Use those ten breakthrough pills and enter the next stage."

He turned his head to face her, his gaze steady.

"Breakthrough pills are potent alchemical concoctions designed to accelerate an Awakener’s progress, but they were incredibly expensive and rarely distributed outside of specialized training... So use it when we are at the mountain, I will tell you when."

With that, he increased his steps, leaving her slightly behind.

Advika stared at the bag in her hand, then looked at his departing figure. ’Why are you helping me?’ She thought, a myriad of questions swirling in her mind about this individual.

[Outside the Academy Gate.]

"Finally?! I thought both of you will sleep in there!" Katherine grumbled the moment Advika and Christopher walked out from the academy gate, her patience clearly wearing thin.

A sleek, black luxury cruiser, far too expensive for a student, idled curbside.

"The Dean called us... So—" Christopher began to explain.

"—No need to explain, we are late!" Katherine cut him off, a mischievous glint in her eyes. She grabbed Advika’s wrist, her grip surprisingly strong, pulled her towards the car, and practically shoved her inside, closing the door shut with a decisive thud.

"....?!"

Advika was speechless, her initial surprise replaced by mild alarm. She turned her head to Leyla, who sat composedly beside her, and asked in a whisper:

"I thought we are going shopping? How can we be late for that?"

"Oh... Is that what she told you?" Leyla asked, a small smile playing on her lips, as she turned to face Advika.

"...Aren’t we going shopping then?" Advika asked in confusion, her brows furrowed.

"You will see... Just make sure to put your seat belt on," Leyla said, a hint of amusement in her voice, then closed her eyes, preparing herself.

Advika stared at the seat belt already secured across Leyla’s body, then turned to the driver’s seat, seeing Katherine settling into it with an almost predatory eagerness.

Christopher sat beside his sister, securing his own seatbelt.

’Why do we need a seat belt?’ Advika thought in mild confusion. It was an odd precaution for a simple shopping trip.

".........?!"

Advika was utterly speechless, seeing Christopher even putting on his seat belt, all except for herself and Katherine.

"Hold on!" Katherine yelled, a wild grin spreading across her face. With a theatrical throw of her legs, she smashed the acceleration pedal.

The luxury cruiser roared forward, its powerful engine echoing through the quiet street, leaving a streak of black asphalt in its wake.

Taken by surprise, Advika was forcefully thrown backward, her back hitting the soft backrest of the car seats with a jolt.

Seeing the terrifying speed Katherine was driving at, weaving through the traffic with reckless abandon, she quickly fumbled for a seat belt and locked it around herself, her heart pounding.

"That was intense." She muttered, still a little breathless, and turned to Leyla:

"Is this how she drives when late for something?" she asked, her voice a little shaky.

"Yes..." Leyla opened her eyes, a knowing glint in them, and turned her head to Advika: "Let me tell you something, Katherine here is the reigning champion of the International Speed Race... She is the number one driver in the world." she revealed casually, as if it were common knowledge.

"The International Speed Race was a highly publicized, adrenaline-fueled competition, broadcast globally, where drivers pushed custom-built vehicles to their absolute limits... And she is the champion of it..." Leyla added with admiration.

"Reigning champion of the International Speed Race?" Advika was stunned, staring at Katherine, who was expertly speeding, maneuvering between other cars with fluid, almost balletic precision.

The car became an extension of her will, a blur of speed and precision.

’If the younger sister is a world-class race car champion, and the eldest son is the richest man on earth, what about the second son?’ Advika pondered, her mind reeling from the revelations.

’What type of family is the Valhalla family??’
