Return Of The Supreme Beast Tamer -
Chapter 127: You Lose
Chapter 127: You Lose
"Yes!"
Chloe’s voice was a sharp command. With that, she unleashed her life force, a vibrant, silver energy erupting from her form, radiating outwards in visible waves that rippled through the air.
Christopher stared at the shimmering silver life force swirling around Chloe’s lithe figure and chuckled to himself.
’Elite level... impressive,’ he thought, a flicker of amusement in his eyes.
BOOM!!!
Suddenly, a torrent of pure white life force energy exploded from Christopher, a raw, untamed power that surged outwards, spreading in all directions, far surpassing Chloe’s aura.
’Master level.’ Chloe thought, her face darkening, a hint of surprise and concern etched into her features.
’A mere master level makes you this serious, Chloe? What if I were to reveal my true strength?’ Christopher mused inwardly, a confident chuckle resonating in his mind.
’Come on, make sure to defeat her... A disciple of mine must never lose!’ Tiamat’s resonant voice echoed in his head, filled with pride and expectation.
"Wasn’t planning to." Christopher muttered under his breath, his smirk widening.
Before Chloe could even fully process the sheer power emanating from him, he vanished with an instantaneous flash of white energy.
"...?!"
Instinct, honed by countless battles, screamed within Chloe. With a swift, practiced turn, she spun around, slashing her sword in a wide, arcing motion.
WHOOSH!!!!!!!!
".......?!"
’An afterimage?’
Chloe was stunned, her sword having sliced through nothing but empty air.
"Behind you."
Christopher’s voice, calm and resonant, reached her from directly behind. Chloe whirled around, only to see a blur of motion as a fist surged towards her. She reacted instantly, raising her sword in a desperate defensive posture, the blade meeting the incoming blow.
BAM!!!!!!!
The sheer force of the impact resonated through the blade, a jarring shock that vibrated up her arms. She was propelled backwards, her feet dragging deep, elongated trail marks across the packed earth of the training ground.
"...?!"
Everyone in the stands was utterly stunned, a collective gasp rippling through the crowd.
"This?"
Adrian was left speechless, his eyes wide with disbelief.
"Did you even see him move?" someone whispered in mild confusion, their voice barely audible.
"I only saw a flash," another added, their eyes still trying to process the speed.
"What sort of speed is that?" a third muttered, awe coloring their tone.
’Mmm... Christopher is still holding back,’ Monica observed inwardly, her own eyes narrowed in assessment. ’Should I intervene and stop this?’ she pondered, a hint of concern for Chloe.
"You?!"
Chloe looked down at her sword, its blade now marred by a distinct crack running through its length.
Her gaze snapped back up to Christopher, a mixture of shock and outrage on her face.
"Veer! Come out!" she hissed, her voice strained with effort.
’Oh... I thought she said no beast?’ Christopher thought, a flicker of genuine confusion crossing his mind.
The very next moment:
Christopher: ’What the hell?!’
Everyone: "...?!"
A brilliant red light burst forth from Chloe’s ring, surging forward and merging with her sword. Before the astonished eyes of everyone present, the normal-looking sword underwent a breathtaking transformation. Its cracked blade instantly repaired itself, but it was now a luminous golden hue. Not only that, but the sword’s hilt seemed to melt and merge with Chloe’s hand, becoming an extension of her very being.
Christopher watched, mesmerized, as Chloe’s power continued to surge, climbing steadily until it reached the low stage of the Master Level, a raw power she had clearly been holding in reserve.
’This girl is truly strange... I thought only Advika possessed this unique ability, but it appears Chloe’s understanding and mastery of this skill are on an entirely different level from Advika’s,’ Christopher thought, a flicker of respect in his eyes.
’And that beast... it was a Mythical-stage beast.’
"Here I come!!" Chloe roared, her voice resonating with newfound power.
She shot forward, her initial burst of speed cracking the ground beneath her feet. In an instant, she appeared before Christopher, her golden sword arcing downwards in a powerful, smashing blow.
BOOOM!!!!
A colossal cloud of dust and smoke erupted into the air as the mystic weapon collided with the ground where Christopher had just stood, shattering the very earth beneath their feet, leaving a small crater.
"What a powerful attack!" a student exclaimed, their voice filled with awe.
"Hey... I thought this was supposed to be a friendly match?" another student interjected, a hint of concern in their voice.
"Don’t worry, no one will die," a third assured them, though their own expression was a mixture of excitement and apprehension.
"Katherine," Advika whispered, turning her head to her friend, her eyes wide.
"Don’t be scared, Advika. Nothing will happen," Katherine answered, her smile unwavering, though a hint of tension was visible in her jaw.
"You know... only two individuals has ever made me truly serious in a battle." Christopher stated, his voice surprisingly calm and casual.
He was now luxuriously perched on top of one of the tall training dummies in the training ground, some tens of meters away from where Chloe stood amidst the dissipating dust.
All the students and Monica turned their heads to him, their eyes wide with utter confusion and disbelief.
’How... how the hell did he get there?!’
That was the single, overwhelming thought reverberating through everyone’s minds.
Chloe looked at the cleared dust, seeing that she had only struck the empty ground. Slowly, she turned around, her gaze fixing on Christopher, who calmly jumped down from the four-meter-tall dummy, landing silently.
"Let me tell you something," he said, beginning to walk leisurely towards Chloe.
"No one has ever made me get serious in a battle, not you... not anyone," he continued, his voice gaining a low, resonant quality.
"Should I tell you why?" he asked, still advancing steadily towards her.
"Why?" Chloe asked, gripping her sword so tightly her knuckles whitened, her eyes narrowed.
"Because I am invincible!" he declared, his voice echoing with undeniable authority.
’And also because I am the first Tamer and Awakener!!’ he added internally, a powerful surge of pride coursing through him.
His hazel eyes flashed a brilliant, ethereal gold, and with a sudden, explosive burst, he shot forward towards her, the ground beneath him crumbling and cracking in his wake.
Chloe’s eyes widened in terror at his sudden, overwhelming speed, but her indomitable spirit refused to yield. She channeled her remaining energy, pushing forward with a desperate counter-attack. She leaped into the air, bringing her golden sword down in a powerful, cleaving smash, while Christopher, without missing a beat, launched a devastating punch.
BOOOOOM!!!!
CLANK!!
BAM!!
Chloe crashed heavily onto the ground, the impact shaking the very earth. Her beast, Veer, flashed a dull red and retreated back into her ring, clearly injured and exhausted.
She turned her head slowly, her gaze falling upon her broken sword, its golden blade now shattered. Her eyes then drifted back to Christopher, who stood before her, seemingly untouched.
’I am the heiress of the Borodino family,’ Chloe’s mind screamed. ’I thought I was strong enough, a lady who doesn’t rely on anyone, who can achieve anything... but the crushing loss I suffered in the last tamer competition fueled me, pushing me to train harder, to become stronger! So why would I lose again?! I will not allow this outcome!’
She struggled to her feet, determination blazing in her eyes. But before she could even begin to gather her resolve for another desperate move, Christopher appeared in front of her, a blur of white.
His hand shot out, seizing her by the throat, and with a single, effortless motion, he lifted her clear off the ground, holding her suspended in the air.
"You?!" Chloe’s face turned ashen, terror replacing her fierce determination.
"You lose."
Christopher stated, his voice devoid of emotion, the finality of his words echoing through the stunned silence of the training ground.
".....?!"
