Chapter 163: Chapter 91: Captain Lin Bearing Humiliation and Burden, The Basic Maneuvers of a Scholar Athlete
4:30 PM, inside the repair workshop of the Military Weapon Store.
Ju Qingmeng sternly said to Ren Zhong, "You guys are really reckless, how could you go so deep into the abandoned mine? Your equipment is so damaged, it’s a miracle you’re not dead."
On the operating table beside them, the exoskeletons of Ren Zhong and Wen Lei, as well as Zheng Tian’s newly bought heavy sniper rifle, were all being slowly repaired by the machines.
Ren Zhong smiled and shook his head, "It’s alright, the situation at the time only seemed dangerous, but it was basically under control."
"Basically under control? The damage to two Mechanical Warriors’ equipment reached thirty percent, and that’s not even mentioning it. But tell me, how did this Gunsmith’s gun get so damaged?"
"Gunsmith Zheng Tian was unexpectedly approached by a Second Level offspring of a Level Four Ruined Beast, and in a panic, she blocked it with her gun."
"And you still say it was basically under control?"
"Hahaha, looking at the result, isn’t everything fine?"
Ju Qingmeng couldn’t do anything with Ren Zhong, so she punched him on the shoulder, "Forget it, I can’t care about everyone else’s lives. I’m just worried... worried you’ll owe me so many favors and end up dying before you finish your tasks. What would I do then?"
Ren Zhong slightly shook his head, "I won’t die, you can be absolutely sure of that."
"That’s true, you always have a plan."
"Mm."
"The equipment will take about another two hours to repair. I’ve finished programming, so it doesn’t need overseeing. I need to show up at the counter, so you take care of your own business."
"Alright, see you later."
"See you."
...
When Ren Zhong arrived at the Miracle Clinic, Bai Feng, who had just completed his treatment, was struggling on the iron frame bed.
His whole body was strapped tightly in a sturdy biochemical suit.
Bai Feng was sweating profusely, with a grim expression, occasionally letting out groans from his nose.
He had just received a new dose of Fusion Gene Injection Liquid.
"Brother Sun, how’s the situation?"
Ren Zhong asked with concern.
Sun Miao’s face was expressionless, "What are you asking about? I just advised him, he got injured today, not in good shape, he should use the Fusion Gene on another day, but he wouldn’t listen. Isn’t this playing with his life? What can I do? Whether he gets through it or not depends on himself now."
About ten minutes later, the expression on Bai Feng’s face began to calm down, finally stopping his struggles and falling into a deep sleep.
Sun Miao let out a long sigh of relief, "Alright, he’s alive."
Seeing this, Ren Zhong felt slightly touched.
Bai Feng was almost a stranger to him, yet Sun Miao still cared this much.
Sun indeed was a good person with a compassionate heart.
Ren Zhong praised Sun, "Brother Sun, you really have a warm heart."
Sun Miao wiped off his sweat, muttering to himself, "How can I not be warm-hearted? You armored folk waste your money on metal shells all day, while Armored Soldiers aren’t like you, they’re my best clients, who really care for my wallet. Now that your team is making money, this Armored Soldier named Bai Feng will give me at least several hundred points every month. If he dies, won’t I be at a loss?"
Ren Zhong closed his mouth and silently retracted his previous words.
Another ten minutes later, Bai Feng woke up on his own, and upon opening his eyes, he saw Ren Zhong standing by his bed. Slightly surprised, he then nodded slightly but didn’t say much.
Sun Miao released Bai Feng from the biochemical suit from outside, then brought over a scanner, allowing it to roam over Bai Feng’s arms.
To the naked eye, Bai Feng’s long arms seemed unchanged from before, though the scales had become smaller and more compact.
The original four eagle claw-like fingers had regrown into five, resembling hands of a human again.
Bai Feng regretfully glanced at the Second Level alloy gauntlets he had bought not long ago, placed beside him. They wouldn’t be usable anymore.
"Aside from these visible changes, anything else?"
Ren Zhong asked.
Bai Feng nodded and gently activated the energy within.
On his arms, two white rays of light appeared on the outside, extending from the shoulders to the back of the hands.
The glow gradually brightened, growing stronger, then streaks of crackling electricity spread along the bands of light.
Moments later, Bai Feng’s arms emitted continuous arcs of electricity, with countless tiny currents weaving in and out like small snakes, continually fading and reappearing.
Sun Miao put away the scanner, "Okay, stop testing, everything’s fine. You’ve integrated the genes of an electric eel quite well. In this bottle is a Second Level armament immune suppressant, remember to take one daily; don’t stop the medication. Come find me next month after you finish them."
"Alright, thank you, Dr. Sun."
Sun Miao: "Thanks? Just give me the money! It’s six hundred points in total, much appreciated."
Ren Zhong patted Sun Miao on the shoulder, "Brother Sun, we’re old friends, give a 50% discount. One family, no need for words."
