Chapter 121: Chapter 77 Descending Demon Baby
Fate is like a domino chain.
Sometimes a casual action can trigger a series of unpredictable chain reactions.
Usually, a person may never realize this in their lifetime, only to be bewildered when disaster suddenly strikes, cursing their unlucky fate.
Ren Zhong is different.
He has personally experienced other timelines and knows the original patterns of things.
So when a situation goes off-track, he can sense the impact of the fate butterfly flapping its wings towards him.
He doesn’t curse fate.
Because he knows he himself is the inducement causing the change.
He himself is the source of all evil.
As a villain who plays with time and space, he must have the awareness of a villain.
He’ll only exhaust his mind calculating a way to break the impasse in the face of sudden situations, while analyzing the causes and effects that led to all this in his mind, re-establishing a logical thread, bringing the situation back under his control.
...
"Hurry! Go! Go! Charge ahead! Zheng Tian, weld your foot to the pedal! Don’t slow down even if you hit a tree! Rush!"
The truck, with its cargo box long abandoned, now just a cab and a loading platform, raced through the uneven terrain, breaking through the air.
The force of the wind stirred by the vehicle bent the vegetation along the route.
"Wen Lei, get ready to raise the shield! Right front direction! Here it comes!"
Wen Lei, hanging outside the right side of the co-driver’s door, unhesitatingly raised the shield.
A shadow the size of a human head streaked through the air, striking directly against the giant shield.
Sparks flew.
Wen Lei shuddered violently, a hint of sweetness in his throat.
But he saw the shadow knocked back and flying, his tension slightly easing—he did it.
He sighed, relieved that Mr. Ren’s armor scanner had such powerful performance and a broader coverage area, always detecting crises a few seconds earlier than others.
Otherwise, everyone would have been doomed this time.
"Ou Youning, throw out the fog bombs! Throw one 50 meters ahead at nine-o’clock and three-o’clock directions!"
Ou Youning, already in the co-driver’s seat, quickly assembled in two seconds, attaching a micro thruster to two pear-sized bombs, then completed programming in one second.
Ou Youning then raised his hand and tossed the two fog bombs.
Since the reinforced glass on the window had shattered in a previous impact, the bombs flew straight out, spreading, trailing long white smoke, landing in the precise spots specified by Ren Zhong.
Detonate!
White mist rose.
Two head-sized metal chunks charged through, momentarily pausing as they became engulfed in the fog.
Taking the opportunity, the truck sped straight through.
"Bai Feng! Raise your gun and fire rapidly at the one-o’clock direction in front of you! Empty the magazine!"
Bai Feng, hanging at the back of the truck, followed the order.
A metal piece that had just risen from the ground mid-air was hit dead on by Bai Feng’s rapid fire, clanging as it was knocked back hundreds of meters.
It didn’t pursue the truck carrying everyone but instead charged directly towards another semi-professional team’s packed truck nearby.
Ren Zhong, hanging by a single arm outside the left side cargo door, gave orders to others via intercom while his left hand swung the Arc Light Saber, slicing through an incoming head-sized metal piece.
Ren Zhong craned his neck to look back, seeing the metal piece knocked back by Bai Feng crashing directly into another semi-professional team’s window.
That truck braked sharply.
Three people jumped out.
There were Gunsmiths with guns, warriors wearing exoskeleton armor, and Armored Soldiers.
The out-of-control vehicle began to tilt, nose-diving into the ground.
Piercing screams echoed from the window.
The three who escaped first fled, not looking back.
In a mere ten seconds, the truck cab exploded with a roar.
The head-sized metal piece flew out again, stained vividly with blood.
It flew through the air, spraying blood along the way, directly targeting the gunsmith who fell last among the fleeing three.
It also emitted a dizzying, piercing scream, like a baby crying.
Hearing the sound coming closer, the Gunsmith turned back in fear, just about to raise his gun when the head-sized metal suddenly accelerated, slamming hard into his abdomen.
The Gunsmith screamed and fell backward.
The baby’s cries suddenly became sharper and louder.
The metal piece pressed hard on him, rotating and grinding at his abdomen like a wolf’s head gnawing at its prey.
In just a few short seconds, the Gunsmith’s agonized screams finally ended.
The Gunsmith’s combat suit was torn open with a large hole.
From his chest cavity down to his abdomen was now completely empty.
