REINCARNATION OF THE STRONGEST WAR HERO
Chapter 53: ATTACK FROM ABOVE

Chapter 53: ATTACK FROM ABOVE

The whole arena was staring at the sky.

From above, fire rained down like falling stars, trailing smoke through the air. It was a beautiful but terrifying sight.

Down below, an earth barrier stood tall. One figure was standing motionless but focused inside it.

Logan Smith.

Except for Logan and Rovan, everyone else held their breath. No one moved. No one spoke. All eyes were locked on the stage.

Logan stood calm, thinking quickly.

Was I so focused on this match and my opponent that I forgot the basics? he thought. Gravity always pulls—but gravity magic can push too, if reversed.

He raised his hand.

A strange wave pulsed around him. Logan had activated his gravity domain—but this time, in reverse.

Suddenly, the fire droplets in the sky stopped falling. They broke apart midair and vanished like sparks in the wind.

The audience gasped.

But Rovan didn’t stop. He still believed he had everything under control.

But before he had the chance to even react, a flash of lightning zipped through the air—and struck him.

His earth gauntlet cracked. Then it broke apart like sand.

His body lost balance and started falling down.

But Rovan reacted fast. He shot a blast of fire downward to slow himself and landed cleanly on his feet.

Silence.

Then—BOOM.

The arena exploded in cheers and claps. Shouts, laughs, and murmurs filled the air.

"If I even had to spend my whole life’s money to watch this fight, I’d still say it’s worth it!" someone shouted from the gallery.

In the betting corner, people were going wild.

"Raise the odds on Logan! Fast!" the betting master yelled, scribbling numbers.

"I told you to bet on the kid!" one man shouted.

"Shut up! It’s not over yet!" another replied, gripping his coins tightly.

Up in the noble balcony, Alice let out a shaky breath. She hadn’t even realized she was holding it.

But her hands still shook. She couldn’t relax.

In a battle like this, she thought, the only thing certain is uncertainty.

On the other side, Marquess Yale gritted his teeth. His face had lost its cool.

"Damn it! Why doesn’t that brat lose already?!"

Inside the arena, Rovan was thinking hard.

"That plan didn’t work. What now?"

"I’ll attack from every side. If I strike from all angles, he won’t be able to dodge even with gravity magic."

He raised his right hand again and shot fireballs like projectiles.

And then raised his left hand...

Sharp earth spikes burst from the ground beneath Logan’s feet.

The crowd screamed in excitement.

"Did you see that? He created spikes not from where he was standing—but where his enemy was!"

This wasn’t just a fight anymore—it was a game of minds. Like chess. Each move carefully planned, each mistake dangerous. Calculating the next few moves ahead of time.

Logan’s calm face changed. But not from fear.

From excitement.

He smiled and moved like a blur, using air magic to boost his speed. He dodged through the earth spikes and fireballs like a shadow in the wind.

"He’s hell-bent on winning," Logan thought. "This guy’s more fun than I expected. The way he reacts to my attacks and tries to trap me—so precise."

In the stands, everyone’s eyes were darting around, trying to follow Logan’s movements. But he was too fast.

The fight had gone on for so long—but it only made people more excited.

No one dared to blink, afraid they’d miss something important.

It felt like there were gold bars on the ground—and the moment you blinked, they would vanish.

"I have to end this soon," Logan muttered. "If I wait too long, I might lose. He’s adapting to my every move."

He rushed toward Rovan, dodging attacks as he went. Some barely missed. Some scratched him. Some burned him.

But he didn’t stop.

Pain didn’t matter.

"Is he mad? That’s suicidal—charging from the front like a bull."

Rovan’s eyes widened. He gritted his teeth and pushed harder, sending out fire and stone with everything he had.

It’s now or never, he told himself. I may not become the champion in this tournament, but there’s no way I would lose to a 12-year-old kid!

Logan’s dodging became harder. The attacks were fierce. But unlike most mages, Logan’s body wasn’t weak. He had trained his body and qi. His body was strong, tough—built through pain and cultivation. Even without using martial arts, his strength gave him an edge.

He kept moving.

He was getting closer.

Rovan started to panic. Logan was closing in, and he was running out of mana.

"Damn it!"

Desperate, Rovan formed a huge fireball in the air and launched it at Logan. At the same time, he started raising a thick wall of earth with his left hand to protect himself.

But it was too late.

Before the wall was complete, Logan had already passed it.

He slammed his fist into Rovan’s chest—lightning bursting from his knuckles.

Rovan tried to dodge, but the distance and time were too short to react.

The impact sent Rovan flying like a broken puppet.

At that same moment, Rovan’s fireball hit Logan—and pinned him to the ground.

Then came the explosion.

A huge blast rocked the arena. Flames roared. Smoke filled the stage.

Rovan crashed hard into the far wall, forming a crater. He didn’t move.

Logan? No one could see him. The thick smoke blocked everything.

Silence returned.

People leaned forward in their seats, holding their breath. Waiting.

Who had won? Was anyone still standing?

Alice’s fists were clenched. Her breath caught in her chest. Rudeous stood like a statue beside her.

Even Mirena and Darius were quiet—but their eyes were filled with desperate hope.

Don’t win, they both thought. "Please, don’t win."

In the viewing box, Marquess Yale’s condition wasn’t any better.

The smoke started to clear.

A gentle breeze swept the battlefield, and the dust began to lift.

The tension in the arena was unbearable.

And then—

What they saw next left everyone speechless.
