"Then you have to die on your own too." Before the man could react, a straight gunshot hit the space between his brows. The man died just like that.

Emma was still trembling with rage as she killed the man.

"God dammit! I could not believe that such a pathetic fool attacked Nora and made us captive." the more she thought about it, she felt agitated.

"How is she now!" she did not dare to look at Alric as she spoke.

Nora took a deep breath, but her whole body shuddered just by breathing.

"I am fine." the words barely left her mouth as she gasped again. Her whole body was covered in cold sweat.

"I need to go home." Alric did not reply but looked at Max. Max had already taken out the bullet and bandaged the wound.

"She can go and rest. I will come later to give her a few injections. It will be better that she rest for a few days." Finally he nodded, and took her in his arms. Nora could feel the tension as he walked with a stiff face. His eyes were so cold that no one dared to look at him when he walked.

He placed her in the car but did not let go of her hands. Nora watched him and sighed.

"It was not your mistake." she felt the flinch in him as he sat beside her. The driver tactfully opened the divider and started the car.

"You did what you could do!" she repeated and only then did he turn to look at her.

"Only a fool like you would believe in this." she sighed. Though he was not crying, she could see the fear in his eyes and for some reason, she felt better.

"What are you going to do now?" when Gemma killed the sniper, Alric did not fight for it. He did not even react. She knew he could not be satisfied just by killing a pawn.

"He is going to regret it." he hissed. "I only need one hour." she nodded, she did not ask further. She did not care about Chris. He could go to hell for all she cared.

"Natalie, would be happy." she whispered as she leaned on him. He wrapped his arm around her carefully as if he was afraid to harm her more.

As they reached home, she had thought he would take her to their bedroom. But he placed her in the meeting room. He adjusted the pillows on her sofa so that she could lay there comfortably. And then he opened the news channel for her.

Nora looked at the news in confusion before she noticed a terrorist attack on some famous buildings and her eyes widened.

Even as a ruthless person could not compare to Alric. She turned to look at him but his face did not have any reaction as if he was randomly watching the news. She gulped.

"Are these buildings related to Chris?" Even when she had returned to the past, she never knew that Chris owned a mall or he had contacts with the import office.

The tv showed different news. But each of them was about an attack on a building and then the list of the people who died started to show. Only then did Nora noticed that all the men died in the attack belong to Chris!

Not only his men but even his mother died.

"I have always kept an eye on them. I just did not see any use in their death." this time he replied without waiting for her to ask.

Their phone started to ring incessantly but Alric did not pick it up. He watched Nora as if he was waiting for her decision.

Nora stared at the phone. It was showing an unidentified caller. She picked it up.

"You bitch! You have promised that you would not touch me." Chris snarled on the other side. But she could hear desperation in his voice.

"And I have told you not to cross Alric! You have broken the rule first." she smirked when she heard the nose breaking something on the other side.

"That man did not work for me. He had left the job days ago. If he had lied..."

"He is dead. And no, he did not take your name. But Chris.. Do we really need to go through formalities? Hmm.. you want to live, you have to come here and beg!" She heard another crashing sound from the other side and this time a complete silence fell.

"I am coming then. Remember, Nora, a cornered dog, did not care about his own life." Nora laughed seetly.

"Yes, but a snake could not let go of his life till the end. And I am sure you are not a dog." The call was cut and she looked back at Alric waiting for his reaction but he had none.

"Are you really going to kill him?"
