Chapter 200: She Healed!

When they broke apart, Olivia was breathing hard, her cheeks flushed and her mind spinning.

"You feel it now," Damon murmured against her forehead, his voice thick with restraint. "Don’t think about it, just let your body Feel."

Tears pricked her eyes, hot, confusing tears. She hated him for the secrets he kept. She needed him because he was the only one who understood the monster clawing at her soul. She loved him because he had stayed, even when it would have been easier to leave.

Her hands moved again, this time without hesitation, pressing flat against his chest. She closed her eyes, letting the storm inside her burst free, love, anger, fear, longing, all tangled in a violent, beautiful chaos.

A soft glow bloomed where her palms met his skin. Damon’s breath hitched, his arms tightening around her instinctively.

Olivia gasped, feeling it, his blood stitching itself, the torn parts mending, the damage she had unknowingly caused retreating under her touch.

It worked. She sobbed in a sharp, broken sound, and Damon caught her face in his hands.

"You did it," he whispered hoarsely. "Olivia! you did it."

He kissed her again, fiercer this time, pouring all the fear and relief and aching tenderness into it.

And this time, Olivia kissed him back with everything she had, knowing that if love could heal, then maybe just maybe it could save them both.

Damon shifted slightly, adjusting so he could look at her better. His hand rose and reached for her cheeks, moving into her hair with slow, calming strokes as if reassuring himself that she was really there, that she hadn’t disappeared like a fever dream.

Olivia closed her eyes, letting herself be cradled by the warmth of his touch.

"You saved me," he whispered against her temple, his voice so raw that her chest tightened painfully. "You saved me, Olivia."

"I didn’t do it alone," she murmured back, her voice small but steady. "You helped me feel it."

He smiled faintly against her skin, a smile she could feel more than see. His fingers continued to move through her hair, soothingly.

Finally, Olivia opened her eyes and found him staring at her. She did not need to ask, she knew what he wanted and she sighed.

"I will accept Rhistel’s offer," she said quietly.

Damon’s hand stilled for a heartbeat, then resumed its slow movements, relief softening the tension in his body.

"You’ll be stronger with training," he said. "No one will ever use you or hurt you again."

She knew she needed to master herself, for everyone she wanted to protect... and for the person she was slowly becoming.

"Sleep, Olivia. You need it. I will guard you for the night and When you wake up in the morning, you will find a new day, a new hope." she turned to look at him. Knowing well that he needed more than a kiss from her.

"What about you?" he smiled.

"I thought you did not care." she frowned at his teasing voice and he did not try his luck further. "After your healing, I feel rejuvenated. Even the older wounds of the war had been completely healed. I even feel younger. Sleep is the last thing I need now. So sleep!" she watched him and then smiled.

She felt exhausted after doing whatever she had done. So for once, she listened to him and closed her eyes. And when she opened them again...

The soft, golden light of morning crept through the heavy curtains, casting a gentle glow over the tangled sheets and her face.

Olivia stirred first, blinking slowly, disoriented by the unusual warmth pressed against her side.

Damon was already awake, watching her with a look so tender it made her chest ache.

"Good morning," he said, his voice rough with sleep.

She gave a small nod, still feeling the remnants of last night clinging to her like mist.

"Are you feeling better?" He asked to bring a glass of water. Olivia took a sip but before she could reply, a soft knock echoed at the door. Damon stiffened immediately, but Olivia sat up, smoothing down her tangled hair.

"Have I not warned you to leave my chamber?" he scowled.

"It.. is urgent." came the pleading whisper.

"It’s fine," she murmured, though a strange knot formed in her stomach.

The door opened a crack and a maid peeked inside, bowing low.

"My lord, my lady," she said. "Lady Shaya requests an audience before she departs."

Damon’s face darkened slightly, but he nodded curtly. "Tell her we’ll be there shortly."

The maid bowed again and disappeared.

They found Shaya waiting in the drawing room. She looked radiant, unbothered, a smirk curving her lips when her sharp eyes landed on them together.

"Good. You look less like a ghost this morning, Olivia," she said, tilting her head and giving a slow, approving nod. "I trust you found some... clarity."

"I found enough," Olivia answered coolly.

"Good," Shaya said, her gaze flickering to him briefly before returning to Olivia. "For now, my work here is done. I am returning with my people."

"I leave you with a warning, little witch," she said, her voice turning serious. "Power without control is a storm that spares no one, not even the ones you love." Her gaze briefly, pointedly, touched Damon.

"And yet," Shaya added, smiling faintly, "control without heart is a cage."

Olivia swallowed hard, hearing the weight of the words settle inside her.

"I’ll remember," she said quietly, making Shaya shake her head.

"And Olivia," she said without turning back, "don’t die too easily. The world hasn’t seen what you can do yet."

Cyan approached Damon, wiping his gloved hands on his cloak. His sharp, calculating eyes gleamed under the morning sun.

"We’ll test this batch first," Cyan said, nodding toward the loaded carts. "If it works as intended, we’ll return for more."

Damon, standing tall beside Olivia, gave a curt nod. The courtyard slowly emptied until only Damon and Olivia remained under the heavy sky.

"Come," Damon said, offering his hand. "Rhistel will be expecting us."

Olivia hesitated only a moment before slipping her hand into his.
