“What are all these about?” Qin Xue asked Xue Ling. “She handed me so many books, does she expect me to read them all at once?”

“Just take them and read them at your own pace. You’re the boss here, are you afraid of being labeled a thief?” Xue Ling gave Qin Xue a quizzical look. How could she be so unwise?

“Yeah, I’ve already taken a few books. What does it matter if I take a few more? Maybe she left these here in hopes that someone would find them and lift the love potion off Qing Teng someday.” Qin Xue then unabashedly took Xue Ling’s books into her own space.

“What you said makes sense. What mother wouldn’t love her own child? Perhaps she did this hoping that Qing Teng would have a better life.” Xue Ling murmured pensively. Although it disagreed with the Holy Servant’s actions, it believed that as a mother, she did nothing wrong from that perspective.
