Chapter 1387: Chapter 1381: Affection Is Not About Giving In_1 Chapter 1387: Chapter 1381: Affection Is Not About Giving In_1 In Qin Xue’s eyes, her friend’s behavior was utterly foolish. If she had used that money to invest in herself, Qin Xue believed she would be happier, and perhaps she might even have the charm to attract better people.
Any decent man would be a step up from her husband, surely. Even if she didn’t want to divorce her scum of a husband, wouldn’t he change his ways if he saw such a transformation in his wife? He wouldn’t have time to go after other women, right?
The main reason for such issues in a marriage is often that the spark has worn off over time. Love slowly transforms into family affection, and once the novelty is gone, problems begin to arise.
To put it simply, after marriage, a woman revolves around her family. Her thoughts are concentrated on her husband, her children, and her in-laws, leaving no time for herself. She stops focusing on her appearance, which used to be so important.
When these differences begin to show, her husband starts to perceive her as a haggard old woman, while other women seem to remain just as beautiful as ever.
They still look as stunning as they did before marriage. Men don’t realize that this sustained beauty is largely due to their own doting husbands, while the decay in their own wives’ appearances is their own doing.
If a woman fails to realize where the problem lies, she will not be able to change herself and, if this continues, the results are predictable.
So, no matter when, a woman should never forget to treat herself well. Because only when you treat yourself well will others treat you well. On the contrary, if you no longer love yourself, who else can you expect to love you?
So Qin Xue believed her friend should use the money to get a gym membership, learn makeup techniques, have beauty treatments and manicures, buy pretty clothes, and dress herself up beautifully. That would be a proper reaction. Of course, she thought that spending money to acquire more knowledge would be even more valuable because it could uplift her personal worth.
Qin Xue reasoned that if her friend did this, her scumbag of a husband would treat her differently. If his wife was so beautiful, why would he need to look at other women? Shouldn’t he be worried about other men trying to steal his wife instead?
So, Qin Xue vowed never to let her own marriage end up like her friend’s. She would not allow herself to become so passive or cheapened.
“Chu Molin, would you accompany me to see my father tomorrow? I haven’t told him about this yet.” Qin Xue wanted to inform her husband first, then tell her foster father. This way, she would have peace of mind.
“Sure, I’m free tomorrow.” Chu Molin had come back intending to spend more time with his wife and child, so he had no objection to accompany his wife to the military base tomorrow.
“My husband’s the best.” Qin Xue sighed happily.
“My wife is also wonderful.” Chu Molin began laughing as he responded to her remark.
“We’re the best couple in the world!” Qin Xue exclaimed, startling Chu Molin.
“Xue’er, it’s late.” Chu Molin was a bit helpless. Though her joy was contagious, her loudness could be considered a disturbance by their neighbors – a potentially awkward situation.
“Hehe, I’m just too happy.” Qin Xue stuck out her tongue. She merely got carried away in her excitement.
“You’re something else.” Chu Molin said, indulgently looking at her and shaking his head.
“Chu Molin, I met two strange women a few days ago.” Qin Xue told him about coming across two ladies at the market the other day. She wanted to discuss it with her husband and hear his opinion.
