“Mr. Zhang, carry on with your investigate. I have some matters to attend to. Tell your boss I will invite him for tea in the near future,” Chu Molin said in a noncommittal tone.

“Sure. You go ahead with your business. I’ll pass on the message.” Mr. Zhang was practically bowing and scraping now.

Chu Molin nodded and left. The only thing he could depend on now was Ye Xuan. So even if he himself didn’t get anything here, he had to leave.

“Mr. Zhang, who was that man? Why do you seem to feel like he’s your superior?” The man asked Mr. Zhang after Chu Molin had left.

“I don’t know who he is. All I know is that he came from the Imperial Capital.” Mr. Zhang said, trying to please the man, once Chu Molin was out of sight.

“Imperial Capital?” The man muttered. He hadn’t heard of such a man from the Imperial Capital. He didn’t want to admit it, but the departing man had indeed exerted a great deal of pressure on him.

It wasn’t that the man was afraid of Chu Molin. Both were equally powerful; one was an amiable tiger, and the other a frosty figure. The encounter of fire with ice resulted in the fire being extinguished and even scorched by the ice.

“Big brother, where do you think they have moved the items to?” Ye Xuan had never been so baffled before, uncertain what to do next. The leader had him doubting his abilities.

“Let’s go back to the Imperial Capital. We won’t find what we’re looking for here.” Chu Molin had overheard their conversation when he arrived, so he knew the items had been moved.

“Alright, let’s go back tomorrow. But the matter with the leader…” Ye Xuan agreed to Chu Molin’s plan, though he hadn’t completed his task.

“The person you’re looking for is dead. That isn’t him. If you keep clinging onto this, you may be endangering yourself.” Chu Molin was trying to dissuade Ye Xuan from pursuing the leader.

“But all signs here point to the person being here. How could he possibly be dead?” Ye Xuan couldn’t quite believe it.
