Chapter 1277: Chapter 1271: The Reason for Fear_1 Chapter 1277: Chapter 1271: The Reason for Fear_1 The villagers watched Qin Su’e, each saying a few words and then shaking their heads as they left her alone on the scene with the man not far away.
Qin Su’e watched as the crowd dispersed. Just as she was about to laugh out of triumph, she suddenly noticed the man still standing in the distance. She involuntarily shrank back, puzzled that he was still there–hadn’t he left already?
“I don’t care what you want to do, but you must not harm the people of the Qins. Otherwise, don’t blame me for being rude.” The man said with a cold stare at Qin Su’e.
He had just noticed Jiale and the others, so after paying attention to Su’e’s expression, he figured out what she was plotting. Something he would not allow.
A wise person would heed his words. Su’e certainly heard what he said, but it only fuelled her hatred even more.
Why did everyone take the side of the Qins? The man just arrived not long ago, didn’t he? Why was he siding with them as well? Did he also take a fancy to Qin Xue? Wasn’t he involved with Fang’er’s mother? Then what did his words mean?
“Why are you helping them?” Su’e mustered the courage to voice her doubts.
“You don’t need to know. You only need to understand, if you want to keep living, it’s best to follow my advice. Otherwise, what happens next-I don’t think you’d want to find out.” The cold murderous intent in his voice was enough to send a chill down Su’e’s spine; he wanted to kill her.
At the mention of “kill”, she quickly nodded her head, fearing if she didn’t act quickly, he would snap her slender neck.
“Remember, if you want to live longer, be wise about certain things.” The man walked away after he finished speaking, leaving only his back silhouette visible to Su’e.
Anger overcame Su’e to the point where she unknowingly dug her nails into her own flesh. Why was everyone siding with the Qins? This man had not been here that long, there had been no obvious interactions with others, so why was he on their side? Was there a secret she didn’t know about?
Despite much thought, Su’e couldn’t figure out why. But the more she thought about it, the more unsettled she became. Although this man was ruthless, he didn’t seem determined to kill her, otherwise, wouldn’t she have been killed that last time?
Su’e was scared of the man because she had seen him murdering someone. She had watched him nonchalantly kill someone and then look at her coldly before leaving. Yet, who would have thought that months later, this man would come to their village as Fang’er’s stepfather?
When she first saw him, Su’e thought he had come to silence her. But after several encounters without him making any moves, she let down her guard. But each time she saw him, she was reminded of his murder, and this made her afraid that he would decide to dispatch her next without warning.
She did consider going to the police, but she was afraid that if the police failed to catch him, he would finish her off.
Su’e was no fool. If this man could stay outside after murder, he either had a very strong background or he had managed to dispose of the body without detection, so no one would have noticed his crime. Otherwise, he wouldn’t just appear so brazenly in public.
Su’e was really smart, and she could think through a lot of things, but she didn’t understand that some things might not be as she imagines.
