Chapter 1256: Chapter 1250: Contradiction_1 Chapter 1256: Chapter 1250: Contradiction_1 Upon seeing Qin Xue in this state, Chu Xiaoqiao didn’t know what to say. Instead, she started to help Qin Xue cook, as she could tell that her sister-in-law was not in good spirits.

“Qin Xue,” Fang Xiu called, joining her side to help with the cooking along with Jingtao.

“I’m fine, you guys don’t need to worry, really,” Qin Xue assured them, somewhat amused at the crowd of people gathering around her. Did she look like a person with problems?

“But you’re upset,” Fang Xiu wasn’t sure what to say. She had seen Xue Ling occasionally cooking for Yu Ze and others, and even Jingtao, and had wanted to ask about it. However, Qin Xue, who saw everything, had said nothing, thus she never voiced her questions.

Today, she had seen Xue Ling feeding the child as usual, so she didn’t interfere. But who knew the elderly duo would react in anger? She figured it must be because they were worried about the child, but her own son had eaten Xue Ling’s food many times, each time without any adverse effects – on the contrary, the child’s health had always improved afterward. Clearly, whatever Xue Ling made was beneficial.

However, she forgot that not everyone is as open-minded as her, especially those who stay close to Qin Xue. Any action of Qin Xue has always been unpredictable and unconventional, and Xue Ling was no different. But to her, this was normalized.

“That’s a given. I’ll be okay soon. I’m not going to hold a grudge against certain people. After all, we are not living together every day. What upset me was the thought that despite my genuine friendship, I still can’t earn their trust.” Qin Xue cared about this, so she would recover soon.

“Sister-in-law, don’t be mad at them. They are only worried about the child and don’t understand Xue Ling, that’s why this misunderstanding happened.” Chu Xiaoqiao wanted to say more but held back upon seeing Qin Xue’s expression.

If she continued, she might not be able to stay. With her temperament, she probably would have blown her top on the spot unlike Qin Xue who was just stewing in silent anger.

For Fang Xiu, her days in The Jing’s household had taught her that some people – regardless of how well you treat them – would still value you less than a stranger.

“Anybody home? Xuexue?” Nangong Beiying and Xiao Qi stepped inside but found no one. The house was quiet, almost as if it was empty. Yet the door was unlocked.

“Ying, you’re here.” Hearing her best friend’s voice, Qin Xue left the kitchen to find Nangong Beiying accompanied by her four bodyguards and Xiao Qi trailing behind her.

“Yes, come give sister a hug.” Upon seeing Qin Xue, Nangong Beiying opened her arms.

“Alright.” Qin Xue walked over and wrapped her arms around Nangong Beiying’s waist, hugging her like she did in her past life.

“Girl, has something happened?” Nangong Beiying gently stroked her head. Whenever Qin Xue made that expression, it meant she was upset.

“Mmm.” Qin Xue voiced her agreement softly.

“Don’t worry, sister will help you get back at them later.” Nangong Beiying patted her back.

“No need.” Qin Xue shook her head.

“Alright.” Nangong Beiying raised an eyebrow. Who was the person that upset her so much that she even refused to retaliate? That had never happened before.

Hearing the voices, Chu Molin emerged to see the two of them wrapped in a tight embrace. Part of him didn’t want Qin Xue to be hugging Nangong Beiying, but remembering the recent event, he held his tongue.

Xiao Qi also looked a bit uncomfortable, watching them. They’d hug for long enough, why didn’t they let go yet?

The four bodyguards acted as if they hadn’t noticed, and instead carried their parcels and groceries into the house. Their duty was to ensure the safety of their mistress; her personal matters were none of their concern.
