Chapter 1247: Chapter 1241 – Rouge, do you want it?_1 Chapter 1247: Chapter 1241 – Rouge, do you want it?_1 “Sis-in-law, what did Xiao’ai just say to you?” Chu Xiaoqiao asked Qin Xue after they had left the courtyard. She and her grandmother had seen her second brother and Luu Xiao’ai walk away from the courtyard, so she assumed they had run into her sister-in-law.
“Your second brother greeted us, and Luu Xiao’ai wished your eldest brother and me well. That’s about it.” Qin Xue only gave a rough overview, not going into the specifics of their conversation.
“What, she wished you well? Did I hear that right?” Chu Xiaoqiao couldn’t believe what she was hearing. When did Luu Xiao’ai have such a change of heart?
“That’s what she said. She’s actually quite pitiful.” Qin Xue thought about how Luu Xiao’ai had held onto her feelings for ten years before finally letting go. If she were in Xiao’ai’s shoes, she wasn’t sure she could do the same.
“Well, it was always a one-sided love. My eldest brother never expressed any interest in her.” Chu Xiaoqiao, having grown up alongside Luu Xiao’ai, understood her friend’s feelings well. But her brother was never responsive, so she couldn’t really take Xiao’ai’s side. It was probably for the best. As long as Xiao’ai stopped clinging onto her brother, it would spare Qin Xue unnecessary heartache.
The women chatted and laughed all the way home, and then a new round of busyness began. The kitchen was filled with the symphony of cooking.
Chu Molin and Xiao Qi could smell the delicious aroma even before they got home. They shared a look and headed directly to Qin Xue’s place.
“Big bro, sis-in-law’s cooking seems to have improved.” Xiao Qi took a deep whiff of the air.
“Really? I can’t tell; I’ve always been eating her food.” Chu Molin had always been teasing.
“Big bro, you’re just messing with me. I wonder if sis-in-law can help me win over Yingying.” Xiao Qi looked longingly at the house, hoping the people inside could help him out.
“Go ask your sis-in-law yourself.” Chu Molin didn’t meddle in his wife’s friendships, so Xiao Qi would have to find out for himself.
“I’ll ask her later. Oh God, please have mercy on me and let me win Yingying over soon.” Xiao Qi glanced at the sky, hoping for divine intervention.
“You keep praying, I’m going in for dinner.” Chu Molin could’ve sworn this idiot wasn’t his brother.
“Wait, big bro, wait for me.” Xiao Qi felt embarrassed making these pleas, but he was desperate.
“Oh, you’re back.” Fang Xiu opened the door to find the two men outside.
“Mhm, where’s Xue’er?” Chu Molin knew she was probably in the kitchen, but he wasn’t sure.
“She’s cooking.” Fang Xiu pointed towards the kitchen.
“Alright.” Chu Molin nodded at Xiao Qi and went to their room to change into a fresh set of clothes.
Xiao Qi made himself at home, joining the three children in the living room. Xue Ling was fiddling with her toy, ignoring him completely.
“Little one, what are you making there?” Xiao Qi asked, leaning over to check on Xue Ling.
“Rouge, do you want some too? I can apply some for you.” Xue Ling handed him a tube.
“No way, why would I, a grown man, want to put on rouge?” Xiao Qi felt a chill up his spine at the thought.
“Men need skincare too. Otherwise, when you get old, Beiying won’t like you anymore.” Xue Ling mumbled.
“Am I really that old?” Xiao Qi touched his face reflexively. He was even younger than the eldest brother, who always looked handsome and masculine. He couldn’t be that far behind, right?
