Yang Lin sat in the back, watching Ye Hao and Gu Yi interact, feeling a bit angry, a bit sad, and a bit wronged.

She didn’t respond to Ye Qian’s words and stayed silent for the rest of the way.

Ye Qian saw that she didn’t want to talk and didn’t bother her anymore.

After getting off the bus, Yang Lin said she had something to do and left first.

"Ye Hao, where did you buy the five-spice powder? Take us there for a stroll."

Ye Hao knew they came to buy spices, so he didn’t insist on taking them to the scenic area for fun,

"Alright, today we’ll go buy everything you need first, and once we’re done, I’ll take you out to play." With that, he led them to the market that sold five-spice powder.

When they arrived, Gu Yi was really delighted. From five-spice powder, fennel, cumin powder, Sichuan pepper, cardamom, bay leaves, star anise, cinnamon, basically all the spices she wanted were there.

At a corner, they even saw Orleans marinade packages.

Gu Yi calculated that these should last for six months without a problem, and the shopkeeper had never seen such a large purchase before. He even threw in two bags of rock sugar for them at checkout.

The shopkeeper packed their purchases into two large bags for her.

Gu Yi was about to carry them herself, but Ye Hao snatched them away first.

"I’ll carry them, let’s go see if there’s anything else you need to buy." Seeing how easily Ye Hao carried them, Gu Yi didn’t insist.

The three of them shopped for an entire day, only resting briefly when they had lunch at a restaurant.

When they returned to the guesthouse, both Gu Yi and Ye Qian were too exhausted to move, so Ye Hao put away their purchases and went to buy food.

Gu Yi and Ye Qian quickly went to shower, and when Ye Hao returned, the three of them ate a bit before Gu Yi and Ye Qian prepared to go to sleep.

Ye Hao knew the two of them were really tired today, so after a brief goodbye, he returned to the military base.

Ye Hao kept running, thinking about the past couple of days with Gu Yi.

The feeling Gu Yi gave him was natural, generous, simple, and direct. Last night’s conversation with her really scared him a little.

He’s never been in a relationship before, and all his experience came from late-night talks with his comrades.

However, it’s good that Gu Yi spoke directly with him; he also doesn’t like guessing around. If there are problems, they should be solved, and if there are misunderstandings, they should be cleared up, which is quite nice.

Todays’s Gu Yi gave him a whole new feeling again.

When faced with Yang Lin’s provocation, she not only didn’t suffer but also left Yang Lin speechless. Her seriousness in choosing items and straightforwardness in buying them made it harder for him to take his eyes off her.

Ye Hao thought of letting them sleep in a bit more, so he came later than he did yesterday.

"Let’s go out and have a look around. We’ve hardly come here, we should at least enjoy ourselves a bit."

"Okay, okay, let’s hurry and get ready, sis." Ye Qian was overjoyed hearing about going out for fun.

The three of them transferred two buses to get to the place.

It really was a scenic area; the mountains and water were alright, but Ye Qian wasn’t very interested, mainly because it involved climbing up.

With that, she found a seat in the pavilion and sat down.

"Then, why don’t we head back, so we won’t have to climb," Gu Yi suggested seeing Ye Qian was really tired.

"Oh no, don’t! We hardly come out, I’m not interested in climbing, but don’t let me delay you. Bro, take sis-in-law up to have a look, and I’ll wait for you here."

Ye Qian quickly stopped them, hoping her brother and sister-in-law would spend time together to develop their relationship.

"Alright then, wait for us here, don’t wander off, we’ll be back soon." Ye Hao also wanted to spend some time alone with Gu Yi.

"Don’t wander around, just wait here, okay?" Gu Yi reminded Ye Qian, a little uneasy.

"Alright, alright, I’m not a child, no need to be so worried. Go ahead up." Ye Qian urged them.

"Let’s walk a little further up, I’ve heard there’s a love tree on the mountain where we can tie a red ribbon."

Ye Hao heard others say it was quite effective.

"Do you really believe in such things?" Gu Yi couldn’t help but grin as she spoke.

"Since we’re here, tying a ribbon wouldn’t hurt, would it?" Ye Hao wasn’t embarrassed about it.

The two of them finally reached the top of the mountain, and the area was flat and relatively spacious.

The love tree was at the very edge, surrounded by a railing, and was already covered in red ribbons.

"Wait here, I’ll go buy one."

Ye Hao ran to a nearby stall before Gu Yi could say anything and bought a red ribbon.

Just as he was about to leave, "Young man, it will be more effective if you write your names on it. I have a pen here," the ribbon seller called out to him and handed him a pen.

Ye Hao waved to Gu Yi, signaling her to come over. The two of them wrote their names and tied a knot on the ribbon.

"Go toss it up, the higher the better," the seller cheerfully encouraged them.

"You should do it, you’re stronger," Gu Yi handed the ribbon to Ye Hao.

"Alright, I’ll aim to toss it to the highest branch." They smiled as they approached the love tree.

The ribbon was so light, it was really hard to toss, and the wind blew against them, making it even harder.

Finally, when the wind shifted, Ye Hao gave a strong throw and managed to get the ribbon on the tree branch.

"It wasn’t easy." They exchanged a smile.

After playing at the top of the mountain for a while, they started heading down. People say it’s easier to go up than down, which turned out to be true; Gu Yi felt like her knees were going to give out by the time they reached the bottom. After she almost fell, Ye Hao held her hand to help her down.

Ye Hao shared some amusing stories from military life along the way, making Gu Yi laugh so hard she couldn’t stop.

When Ye Qian saw her brother and sister-in-law coming down hand in hand and laughing non-stop, she felt really happy. The progress seemed good, which comforted her heart greatly.

She was really afraid that what she said to her mom last time would affect them.
